FOR SALE IS THIS VERY WELL MAINTAINED 1999 PORSCHE CABRIOLET

** I will consider trades with cash, if you want a straight up trade it needs to be worth more **

This Porsche has been well taken care of and has plenty of upgrades added over the years of ownership. Many of the upgrades were completed before putting it up for sale and will be detailed items here:
New RW-6 Wheels 19x8.5 & 19x11 made by MRR Wheels (less than 10-miles ago)
TOYO 235/35/19 & 315/25/19 tires were remounted, Road-force balanced & Nitrogen Inflated.
The rear bumper was repainted, bumperettes also painted to freshen up the appearance (Car was also color-sanded & buffed), painless dent process to removed any small dings done. over $800
New Sport Seats including rails, mounts and sliders installed (custom painted seat-belt pass-through in arctic silver) less than 5-miles ago
New front Splitter "lip" was installed less than 5-miles ago $250.00
New Brake caliper refinishing (including complete brake flush & service) over $1,000.00
Complete GT3 Body kit style (front bumper, side skirts & rear decking) parts, paint & installation over $7,500.00

New "911" rear chrome badge added to complete the look less than 5-miles $50
Steering wheel upgraded to the 3-spoke design (original 4-spoke removed, shifters inop due to swap) installed the much sought after silver crest from inside. $750
Rare WHITE guages in dash with custom accented trip in Arctic Silver (this brightens up the whole dash line no other option)
IPD (intake performance option) this item was installed and conforms to factory upgrade standards $995
Vehicle has gone through some interior upgrades over the years and while some is not perfect I would call out the center console as an area that might benefit from being re-sprayed (looks nice when you are looking at it but if you look close you will see flaws in the finish (we are not going to remove to re-do, this is something you can live with or have re-done in your own time).
One negative I would like to point out is that the windshield is not perfect, it has some scratches in it that can either be buffed out professionally or if you need it perfect could be swapped out for around $600. Original books and materials including spare wheel/tire and tool kit are included with the sale. The Porsche is in great shape and is used so not perfect, it will have minor paint flaws small scratches or chips from raod conditions (only a few noticeable).
The motor is clean and runs hard, the gears shift smooth as any other 30K mile 996 models. This is the kind of vehicle you purchase when all you want to do is put gas and go, the next thing you would need to replace is tires once you go through these but all scheduled services are complete for the next 30,000 miles. This is something you don't find every day.
Lots of time and money was invested to bring this vehicle up to par and above any other you'll find this year, so please if you don't have the money move on to something else, I'm not going to entertain or even reply to low offers, I've already invested close to $10,000 just to get it ready to sell. Summer is here and it is a great time to get out and enjoy this prize. You are sure to turn heads in this customized ride.

I have all photos in HIGH RESOLUTION, let me know if you want for me to send to you, this vehicle is also being offered locally so please feel free to contact me if you are serious about it.

2017 Porsche 911 Turbo First Drive [w/video]

Mon, Feb 8 2016

Remember when turbos were a big fat middle finger to the naturally aspirated status quo? The horsepower renaissance has seen the forced induction phenomenon go from badass add-on (Turbo 'Vette!) to battle cry for efficiency (Kia Optima Turbo). From econoboxes to high-end holdovers like Ferrari and Aston Martin, everybody's doing the turbo shuffle. But what does that mean for the gang from Stuttgart – and more importantly, the top-of-the-line 911 that has called itself Turbo since the mid-1970s? I spent a day in the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S to find out. Now is a particularly fitting time to evaluate the latest iteration of the venerable Porsche 911 Turbo. Our scrutiny comes at a moment when standard-issue Boxsters, Caymans, and Carreras have finally adopted turbocharged platforms. The Turbo S has a top speed of 205 mph, marking the first time the model has crested the 200-mph barrier. Spoiler alert: Rather than radically transforming its long-evolved essence, the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo has made incremental changes that makes it, well, more Turbo than ever. Horsepower for the Turbo and Turbo S climbs 20 each, to 540 and 580, respectively; 0-60 times drop to a scant 2.9 and 2.8 seconds, and these top dogs now have terminal velocities of 198 and 205 miles per hour, marking the first time the model has crested the 200-mph barrier. The forced-induction flagships have different engine hardware, another first for the lineup, with the S gaining larger turbo impellers and housings. A revised differential enhances the precision of power transfer, while the PDK dual-clutch transmission (the only gearbox available) gains a centrifugal pendulum for smoothness. The dynamic engine mounts now work harder for crisper response, and the variable damping rates have been extended at both ends for a wider range of settings. If you're a fan of hanging the tail out, you'll be pleased to know that a new Sport mode enables greater yaw angles. And if you dig indiscreet bursts of acceleration, there's now a Dynamic Boost function that preps the drivetrain for a little extra oomph by dropping down a gear and holding the throttle open to maintain turbo pressure, increasing torque from 487 to 523 pound-feet, and from 516 to 553 lb-ft in the S. Standard equipment now includes a Sport Chrono Package, camera-equipped parking sensor, and the Porsche Dynamic Light System. Engine flexibility is outstanding, allowing peak torque to start at only 2,250 rpm.

Final notes from Porsche Rennsport Reunion V [w/videos]

Wed, Sep 30 2015

Having spent three days with an intense Monterey sun above, a fleet of raucous, roaring racecars below, and a genuine library of hundreds of cars parked everywhere, Porsche Rennsport Reunion V can be summed up in one word: amazing. It's one thing to know today that Porsche is special because rich people buy them and collectors obsess over them. It's another thing to see and hear and feel and smell why Porsches are special, to experience what really makes a brand. Whenever auto writers use the word "pedigree" – usually in reference to brands that don't have it – this is what we mean. And we bathed in it for a weekend. Now we need to wash all of our clothes, because pedigree smells like race fuel. Porsche used all of the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca pit garages to set up an excellent display of important Le Mans cars, from the 1958 718 RSK to the current 919 Hybrid. All but one were overall or class winners, and four consecutive pit boxes held cars that were all in the movie Le Mans: a 1969 910, a 1969 917K, a 1970 908 LH "Flunder" Spyder, and a 1971 917 LH. Outside the garage on its own plinth was a 1949 Gmund 356 SL, the first Porsche to win an international motorsports race when it took its 110cc class at Le Mans in 1951. Walking from 1958 to 1998 and having all that history in the metal behind you, you could see why Porsche wanted to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to return to Le Mans with the 919 Hybrid to protect its legacy. Even with three full days we didn't get to see everything we wanted to see or talk to everyone we wanted to talk to. We could have spent days interviewing the Who's Who of racing drivers alone. But we did get to answer the questions you left for us in Comments after our 2017 911 Carrera ride-along: RoninEdge: The engineers had left by the time we got your Boxster/Cayman engine question, and the only answer we could get after that was the official Porsche line: "We haven't released any information on any 2017 models other than the four already mentioned," the 911 Carrera and Carrera S in coupe and cabriolet trims. Ferps: Posche North America decided to take the Targa off the website, but you can still buy 2016 models and there are still Targas on dealer lots. The 991.2 Targa hasn't been revealed yet. JohnnyHedwardsJr: We couldn't review the 911 GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition, but there is a gallery of live images below. Porsche is only making 25, and every one of them is spoken for.

Ford GT dominates Le Mans qualifying, gets slapped with performance adjustment

Fri, Jun 17 2016

Fifty years after Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the Ford GT40 to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is poised for a historic return to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The new Ford GT took the top two qualifying positions in the LMGTE Pro class, and four of the top five. Ferrari's 488 filled in the rest of the spots in the top seven, the first two from AF Corse. In other words, we're primed for a reboot of the classic Ford-Ferrari feud at this year's race. Or not, as the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, announced sweeping pre-race Balance of Performance (BOP) adjustments this morning that make this year's GT class anybody's race. In LMP1, last year's overall winner Porsche locked up the top two spots with the 919 Hybrid and will lead the entire field at race start. Toyota's two-car factory effort followed with qualifying times 1.004 and 2.170 seconds behind the pole lap. Audi rounds out the manufacturer-backed LMP1 class in fifth and sixth. Full qualifying results can be found here. The storyline for the GT cars is perfect - some say too perfect. Ford's class-leading times came after BOP adjustment to the Corvette Racing C7.R before qualifying. BOP is intended to level the playing field in the class by adjusting power, ballast, and fuel capacity. (Check out this explainer video for more, or even just if you love French accents.) But the process is riddled with unknowns and ripe for accusations of sandbagging. That is, if the Ford cars were intentionally slow in practice they could hope for BOP adjustment to improve their race chances. On the Corvette side, last year's GTE Pro winner went from the top of the field to the bottom, barely improving from practice to qualifying. If you think Le Mans is as rigged at the NBA Playoffs, well, it's not that simple. Because if Ford and Ferrari held back until qualifying - the eighth-place Porsche 911 RSR is three-and-a-half seconds off the class pole time - it was a pretty dumb strategy. This morning, the ACO tried to put things back in order by limiting the boost in the Ford GT's twin-turbo V6 and adding 11 pounds of ballast. Ferrari was also given extra weight but allowed more fuel capacity. The Corvette and Aston Martin teams were both given breaks on their air restrictors, which will allow their engines to make more power. Both Ford and Porsche also received extra fuel capacity.
