Porsche 1996 911 (993) Coupe Amazon Green with Tan Leather interior. 6 speed transmission .Sunroof . 68,000 miles. The car came from the factory with the following options: #398 which is 17' Cup wheels, #437 which is the drivers side power seat, #445 which is Colored wheel center caps and #490 which is the sound system. A sport exhaust was installed by the Porsche dealer(part number P-FM9-93N) and Light Rootwood steering wheel was also installed by the dealer at the request of the first owner. This car was first sold new on June 8th 1996, it is a 2 owner car with service history from new. It was factory dealer serviced up until 2006 when the second owner purchased the car then it was serviced at a Porsche only service facility. The clutch (including fly wheel) was replaced less than 300 miles ago.The odometer was replaced by Porsche(Stamped by Porsche dealer in warranty book on:11-27-01 at 50,609) giving the car the current reading of 68000 miles. Cosmetically the car shows very nicely with the exception of a chip on the nose of the car. The interior shows very nicely as well with the exception of some light wear on the drivers seat bolster(pictured) and a scuff mark by the powerseat control.
The car runs out very nicely and feels great on the road. The last of the air cooled cars, these cars still retain the raw edge and sound of the air cooled Porsche 6 cylinder engine, yet they are very drivable and completely useable cars, absolutely wonderful sports cars to drive and own.
The car is located in northwestern Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City. If you have questions you can contact me thru ebay or call 860-350-1140. I have a page with many additional photos of the car, go to forzamotorsports with the usual com ending, if you are seriously interested please take the time to study these photos. Black Edition Porsche Cayman is cooler than your Amex

Sat, Oct 3 2015

I was working in a restaurant when I saw my first American Express Centurion card. Colloquially known as the Black Card, the Centurion is a substantial thing, if you've never handled one. It's, as the nickname describes, black, and made from titanium. It's cold to the touch and because it's so much heavier than a normal card, it feels like a piece of precision engineering. At the time, I couldn't get through my head just how German it felt, despite the "American" on its face. In many ways, this Porsche Cayman Black Edition is like the Black Card. It's the same color, for one. Gloss-black paint comes standard, although you're free to spend $710 for the metallic Jet Black variant. Like the exterior, the interior can only be had with black leather. Other upgrades for this "exclusive" Cayman include a Sport Design steering wheel, 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System, navigation, heated seats, and an upgraded stereo. While its color and exclusivity might be a lot like the Centurion Card, we're wagering this isn't the Cayman most Black Card holders would buy, and that's because Porsche based it on the 275-horsepower model, rather than they hairy chested, 325-horsepower Cayman S, 340-hp GTS, or 385-hp GT4. That means 60 miles per hour arrives in a leisurely 5.4 seconds for the manual, 5.3 seconds for the PDK automatic, and 5.1 seconds for the PDK in Sport Plus mode. And if time really is money, those numbers aren't going to mesh with Black Card carriers. Prices for the Cayman Black Edition start at $60,195, or $6,600 more than the standard Cayman. While that seems steep, according to our contacts at Porsche, you'd be spending $12,825 to add the Black Edition's standard equipment to a normal Cayman. Sales are slated to begin in January. Porsche has released a single image of the new Cayman, available up top. You can also scroll down for a brief press release. A strong complement inside the special edition series, which also includes the Boxster and the 911 Carrera, the Cayman Black Edition is distinguished with a timeless Black on Black design and an extensive level of standard equipment.

China may surpass US as Porsche's largest market this year thanks to Cayenne

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

China has already surpassed the United States as the world's largest automotive market, so it's no surprise that one day soon it will be the world's largest Porsche market.
In fact, that day may already be here, as the PRC's Porschephiles outbought their American counterparts in September. Porsche's Chinese dealers sold 4,344 cars last month to America's 3,607. Through all of 2014 so far, though, the US is still the larger market for the German brand.
"The U.S. performed very well this year, after a great year in 2013, but China is growing fast, thanks to the Cayenne which is our best seller there," Porsche's sales and marketing boss, Bernhard Maier, told Automotive News Europe.

Porsche planning back-to-basics 911 GT

Fri, Jun 5 2015

With the latest 911 GT3 and GT3 RS track toys, Porsche clearly put the emphasis on outright performance. After all, if they were all about a puristic driving experience, they'd probably have manual transmissions instead of DCTs, right? Well that's just one point where the Porsche GT division's next project is tipped to depart. According to Autocar, Zuffenhausen's skunkworks are preparing a new addition to the 911 range that will put all the emphasis on the raw driving experience, even at the expense of lap times. The yet-to-be-named model is expected to do away with the second clutch in favor of one you can operate yourself, but that's not all. We're told to expect skinnier tires to make it easier to hold at the limits of adhesion, the narrowed track from the base Carrera, and the absence of large wings and other aerodynamic features. The inspiration apparently comes less from the GT3 than from the new Cayman GT4. Look for the new back-to-basics Elfen to arrive sometime next year, after the rest of the 911 range gets updated with turbo engines. Chances look good, though, that this particular model will stick with the atmospheric boxer six. Related Video:
