For sale is a 1996 Porsche Carrera 2 with tiptronic. (I wish it was a manual too!)
Car shows 114k miles although the odometer is currently inoperable.
The car was a one owner vehicle, prior to me getting it very recently. I have service documentation through most of
its life, including a $10k rebuild/service at 100k miles. New head gaskets and piston rings included.
Car runs and drives very good. Paint is a respray. The car may have been in an accident previously, or was not put
back together perfect after the paint job. The carafe does not show any accidents and no immediate signs of an
accident are visible, at least to my eye. The bumper gaps are a bit larger than they should be. And there is very
minor overspray. Stored in a garage for the majority of its life.
Car is not a perfect show 993. It is a great driver quality car, which is exactly what it should be used for. An
expert could find a number of imperfect things with the car, but it will continually put a smile on your face.
Stock 6 cd changer with sound system and sunroof. It has the tiptronic shifters on the steering wheel. A/C blows
cold.
I have all keys and Porsche info card for the car, as well as all the manuals with ser ices documented in the
service book, mostly by Porsche of Santa Monica. The car has been in Santa Monica or Santa Barbara it's whole life.
Clean carfax. Only one mileage inaccuracy, which was probably a typo around 70k miles.
Car is in need of rear tires and likely brake rotors. I could do the rotors for the price of the rotors and pass.
The rotors are only $125/ea. The car does have some wear on the drivers bolster. Used seats can be found if you
look hard enough!

2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut

Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.

2014 Porsche Cayman promo video hits the web

Don't know how we missed this, but you don't have to play around with the 2014 Porsche Cayman configurator to see the new coupe in action; Porsche has given us more than two beautiful minutes of Cayman footage to enjoy.
The partners in the on-screen tango are the 275-horsepower base Cayman and the 325-hp Cayman S. If you like to keep track of such things, the former starts at $52,600, the latter at $63,800, plus $950 destination for each. Watching a video like the one below, however, is free.

Porsche purists, look away: This 911 is powered by Hyundai

Bisimoto appears to be putting together a Hyundai V6-powered Porsche 911. While the experiment reminds us of a project from earlier this year, in which Ryan Tuerck dropped a Ferrari V8 into Toyota GT86, this one's a bit different. Bisimoto has a history of creating some truly insane automobiles, usually with Veyron-menacing power levels. In fact, the tuning company built multiple 1,000 horsepower machines, including a 1976 Porsche 911 and a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, not to mention a few other Hyundais with oodles of power. So it seems Bisimoto has decided to combine the company's experience with both marque's into one machine with this 1977 Porsche 911. This content is hosted by a third party. No specific details about the engine were given, but a "hyundaiusa" tag, some helpful hints from Instagram commenters and some diligent Google image searching by Autoblog staff members seem to show that this is a Hyundai Lambda series V6. It also appears to be a version from a car with a transverse layout, which would make it easier to fit in the 911's traditional engine location. What we do know is that the build will be completed in time for the SEMA show, and we look forward to seeing the finished Franken-Porsche. The same probably can't be said for Porsche purists though.
