History:
First owner, a retired pilot, owned from 1994-2010 in Florida and meticulously maintained the car by his local Porsche dealer with a stack of documentation up to 91k miles, including the 90k mile service. While he owned it, it was in two fender benders: an atv hit the front corner leading to a new fender and bumper repaint, and his wife put a 4” light dent in the rear fender backing out of the garage. At just over 60k miles, the speedometer broke (which is also the odometer). This was replaced at Porsche and has detailed records showing when this happened. I have the original speed still showing the mileage when removed, but as a result, actual mileage is the old one plus the new one (currently reading 39k). In 2010 at near age 70, he sold this to me and bought a 2010 C2S.
At purchase the car was in good mechanical condition having just gone through the 90k service, but the paint was faded beyond repair along with the tail lights. Since owning, I have done the following:
• Repaint: Full panel and glass off exterior repaint by Porsche forums recommended Brian Tocke – a fairly local high end painter/restorer. The car received full paintless dent removal included on the rear fender prior to paint. Have before, during and after documented with pictures. Replaced many of the body and window seals at this time
• Replaced clutch master and slave, main cooling fan assembly, lower valve cover gaskets and various trim pieces and switches
• Installed new speakers an head unit (still have OEM unit)
• Sold 16” wheels, replaced with 18” twists
• New tail lights (new center not pictured)
Condition: Overall the car in in very good shape, but not perfect
• Exterior: Freshly painted in 2010. Overall in very good shape with only very minor defects (small chips, surface scratches)
• Interior: Interior is best described as very good for 100k miles. Its not perfect, but certainly above average with no cracks or rips. Has year old new OEM floor mats.
• Mechanical: Drives great with no known defects except a minor puff of smoke on start ups after sitting for more than a couple days (common among air cooled Porsches). Buyer is welcome to have a PPI done at any local specialist. Have extensive records to show all maintenance to date.

Prosecutors in Argentina wants Top Gear to stand trial
Wed, Nov 4 2015Jeremy Clarkson may have left Top Gear behind, but some of his actions on the show may come back to haunt him. Prosecutors in Argentina reopened a criminal case against Clarkson last week, which may result in a prison sentence, over last year's now infamous insulting license plate incident, the Telegraph reported. Top Gear, and Clarkson in particular, had a reputation for going out of their way to insult other cultures. Clarkson was already on notice for racist remarks and social media posts when he punched a producer, ending his career at the BBC. So it was not a huge surprise when the team ran into trouble in Argentina while filming a 1,400-mile road trip for the show's 2014 Christmas special. Now for the history; Argentina and England have a long running disagreement that goes all the way back to the age of empire. At various times, a small set of islands off the coast of Argentina, called the Falklands, have had French, British, Spanish, and Argentine settlements. Britain claimed for their own in 1833. In 1982, Argentina and Britain fought a short, bloody war over the islands. Britain emerged victorious and still holds the islands to this day, though Argentina still claims them. Enter the Top Gear lads and their cars. Clarkson was driving a Porsche 928 with a license plate reading H982 FLK. Producers for the show deny up and down that the plates were not intended to cause such ire. Intentional or no, residents took the plate as a jab at the country's defeat in 1982. First, Clarkson was banned from the city where the road trip was supposed to wrap up. Then, angry Argentines threw stones at the hosts, forcing Top Gear to abandon filming and flee the country. In April, a judge deemed the plates intentionally disrespectful and blamed the show for causing a riot. Now the case is being reopened in Argentine courts, partly at the urging of veterans from the Falklands War. Prosecutors are saying that Top Gear changed the Porsche's plates with full knowledge that such actions were illegal. The case could take years to wind its way through the court system and drag all three Top Gear presenters in front of a judge. At the end, if found guilty, Clarkson could face three years in an Argentine prison.
2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS looks even better in the flesh [w/video]
Wed, Mar 4 2015You should never, ever, ever buy a new Porsche 911 GT3 when it first comes out. That's not to say it's somehow bad. It's just that the debut of a new GT3 is, almost without fail, followed by a GT3 RS. GT3: good. GT3 RS: better. This is the latest hot 911, and it comes out shooting with a 4.0-liter flat-six, complete with 500 horsepower and 338 pound-feet of torque. As we explained earlier this morning, sitting behind the wheel of the GT3 RS means 60 miles per hour is just 3.1 seconds away. That is, frankly, a hilariously fast time for a rear-drive, naturally aspirated vehicle with just 500 hp. Consider the new Ferrari 488 GTB, if you will – it has an extra 160 horsepower, (probably) two turbochargers and two more cylinders, and it's only a tenth of a second faster to 62 than the Porsche is to 60. Any Porsche worth its salt will be as rapid in the corners as it is on the straights, and the GT3 RS is no different. It managed to trim five seconds off the standard GT3's Nurburgring time, thanks in part to Porsche's dedication to weight reduction. It's down 22 pounds on the standard car, thanks to magnesium and carbon fiber components. On top of that, Porsche pushed the aerodynamics with a track-ready rear wing and a fairly substantial front splitter. Of course, you know all of this, because we covered it this morning. Still, it seemed worth recapping as we delivered our very own, live-from-Geneva photos of the 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Take a look. It is equipped with the maximum amount of motorsport technology that is currently possible in a street-legal 911 suitable for everyday driving. Extensive modifications to its drivetrain, aerodynamics, and lightweight design take performance to an even higher level than the 911 GT3. With a Nuerburgring Nordschleife lap time of seven minutes and 20 seconds, the new 911 GT3 RS surpasses the 911 GT3 by five seconds, making it the fastest current generation 911 on the famous German racetrack. The 911 GT3 RS is celebrating its world premiere at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show. Motorsport expertise is the driving force behind this superior performance. The 911 GT3 RS is powered by a four-liter six-cylinder engine developing 500 hp and 338 lb.-ft. of torque, combined with a specially developed PDK transmission.
Pick up your Porsche in Atlanta, get free track time
Wed, Apr 27 2016Want to pick up a new Porsche from the factory? That's an option, but you have to fly out to Germany and then have your car shipped back Stateside. If that sounds like too much globetrotting, Porsche Cars North America is now offering the next best thing at its new US headquarters. It even includes some extras you don't get with factory delivery. The company's New Vehicle Delivery program allows customers to order a new Porsche at their local dealership and then pick it up at the Porsche Experience Center at One Porsche Drive in Atlanta. After touring the facility, customers get acquainted with their new cars with help from an expert then lap the on-site test track for an hour and a half and grab lunch at the company's gourmet Restaurant 356. The best part is, unlike the many options Porsche offers, PEC delivery adds nothing to the price of the car. You will, of course, have to cover the gas to get back to wherever you and your car live. Porsche has already kicked off the program. The first participant, Tracy Blumenthal, came out from California to pick up her new Cayenne S E-Hybrid. As a special bonus for being the first customer, former Le Mans class winner David Donohue took her for a ride in the 918 Spyder. Sounds like a pretty good day, if you ask us, especially when you get to go home with a new Porsche at the end.
