1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Club Sport. This Club Sport is one of just 22 Club Sports imported to North America in 1988 and retains its rarer still factory dark blue color. It comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and was featured in an article in Excellence Magazine in September 2012 (read article for more details on the history and build). Although this is a genuine CS, it is not for the purists; this car has been thoughtfully and thoroughly modified in the direction Porsche intended, albeit with care taken to minimize any irreversible changes. Already a lightened version of the Carrera when it left Stuttgart, this particular CS, at 2470 lbs with fuel, is almost 300 lbs lighter than the standard Carrera and some 500 lbs lighter than the Turbo. Power is up handsomely too, thanks to the very professional transplant (by Rothsport) of a 3.8 liter VarioRam motor out of a 993. The setup develops 321hp, resulting in some astonishing acceleration in this featherweight car. So, yes, it is not a stock Club Sport...it is better! Sounds better, runs better, handles and stops better, etc. It can be your track day/DE weapon, collectible street car, or with some updated wheels and tires and re-installation of some of the factory panels (provided), it could be your version of an Outlaw or Singer.

Porsche 911 R might be manual-only with a GT3 engine
Thu, Oct 15 2015Two of Porsche's best cars only come with two pedals and a PDK transmission. That automatic is inarguably one of the very best on the planet, but it's still not the same. The debut of the latest Porsche 911 GT3 was met with much moaning and groaning when it was revealed it would be PDK-only. A rumor from our friends at Car and Driver could signal that three-pedal fans may finally get the Porsche they really want. C/D is claiming that Porsche might resurrect the 911 R badge for a limited-edition Carrera. Such a vehicle would feature not only a nearly 500-horsepower, naturally aspirated flat-six derived from the GT3's engine, but also a do-it-yourself manual transmission. We're betting it'd be the Carrera's well-regarded seven-speed manual, provided it could handle the output. As for how this car will look, that is perhaps the most exciting angle. According to C/D, Porsche insiders called the 911 R "a wolf in sheep's clothing," describing subdued sheetmetal that won't trumpet this car's high-performance nature. Yes, there's could be a sleeper 911. We'll keep our eyes open for anything that corroborates Car and Driver's rumor, but until then, take this news with a grain of salt. If the 911 R does see the light of day, it will likely be in March at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. China may surpass US as Porsche's largest market this year thanks to Cayenne
Thu, 09 Oct 2014China has already surpassed the United States as the world's largest automotive market, so it's no surprise that one day soon it will be the world's largest Porsche market.
In fact, that day may already be here, as the PRC's Porschephiles outbought their American counterparts in September. Porsche's Chinese dealers sold 4,344 cars last month to America's 3,607. Through all of 2014 so far, though, the US is still the larger market for the German brand.
"The U.S. performed very well this year, after a great year in 2013, but China is growing fast, thanks to the Cayenne which is our best seller there," Porsche's sales and marketing boss, Bernhard Maier, told Automotive News Europe.
Porsche Boxster Spyder GT4 under consideration
Tue, Apr 14 2015Apparently, the Porsche Boxster Spyder will not be the ultimate example of the breed, after reports have surfaced indicating that Porsche is considering an even hotter roadster after seeing strong demand for the all-new Cayman GT4. The new lightweight Boxster was just unveiled a few weeks back at the 2015 New York Auto Show, showing a 3.8-liter flat-six, just like the Cayman GT4. It's without a number of GT4-specific components, though. According to Autocar, a Boxster Spyder GT4, if it were built, would benefit from the same 911 GT3-inspired adjustable front suspension, a unique rear suspension, GT3-spec brakes and a new aerodynamic kit. "We are looking at it right now," a source within Porsche told Autocar. "Much of the engineering has already been done for the Cayman, so we think this might be a good direction for us."
