That's Right Another Fantastic Auction brought to you by Autowerks of Northbrook NO FREAKIN RESERVE!!!!! Break out your Men Go Silk blazer with shoulder pads, your Z Cavaricci's, Capezio loafers and Ray Ban Wayfarer's and get ready to step back in time. This all steel 911 SC Slantnose has Miami Vice written all over it. Steel Slantnose fenders. Steel Turbo Quarters, Recaro Sport Seats, Possibly Ruf front bumper(I cannot find markings), Turbo Rear Bumper, Ruf gauges, Custom steering wheel, Custom wheels. Someone spent a crapload of money on this car back in the 80's. The engine has been out and refreshed recently. New oil lines, New Valve cover gaskets, new oil tubes all new bolts and hardware. All synchros are perfect and trans shifts as it should. Motor seems to be very well put together and tight. I own a mid 80's 911 and a 89 911 g50, this car is faster than both. The motor has been built but I am not sure as to what degree. Overall the car is in excellent condition. It has a few knicks and scratches. Front fogs are missing. Rockers are a little scuffed and the carpets are dirty. I will wetsand and buff the exterior and shampoo the interior prior to the end of the auction. Please see my other auction of my 911 Targa |

Magnus Walker pops up again, this time with his Irish Green 911
Sun, 06 Oct 2013He was the subject of a short film called Urban Outlaw. He has been on Jay Leno's Garage. Twice. He even graced the cover of Road & Track in June. And after all of that, he appeared in a video by Hong Kong-based Silly Thing. So it isn't really surprising that Magnus Walker is at the center of attention in the latest video from XCAR, but it's surprising - and a treat - to see his mostly original Irish Green 1966 Porsche 911.
Powered by an air-cooled 2.0-liter flat six with 130 horsepower (more like 120 hp today, Walker says), riding on 5.5-inch wide wheels and turned with a wooden steering wheel, the little green 911 does represent some of the best aspects of classic car motoring.
Head on below to watch the long-form video on Walker and his Porsche, but if your time is limited, you're not missing much if you call it quits at five minutes - especially if you've seen his aforementioned videos before.

Porsche 924 GTP restored for coupe's 40th birthday
Thu, Apr 28 2016The Porsche 924 is among the most unappreciated models from the German brand, but it's still an important part of Porsche's history as the predecessor to the 944 and eventually the 968. To mark the 40th anniversary of the sport coupe's 1976 introduction, Porsche Great Britain is restoring an important member of the vehicle's legacy by bringing a 1980 Porsche 924 GTP racecar back to its former glory. This car was among three factory-backed 924 GTPs that raced in the 1980 24 Hours of Le Mans. After the event, the car immediately went into Porsche's museum collection, and it has been there ever since. The missing body parts and rough paint still show the wear and tear of racing around the clock in France. The 924 GTP featured all the tricks you would expect would be needed to take the road-going coupe to the track. Porsche cut the weight down to 2,050 pounds, and the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine made 315 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque. Power went to the rear wheels through a five-speed gearbox. You can follow along with the restoration online, including period photos of how it should look. The video above also offers a rare glimpse at the Porsche archive, which includes over 5 million photos and 5,000 hours of movies and audio. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
