Up for sale is my 1974 Porsche 911S, just brought in after a long storage, last registered in 2009 in California. We have a copy of the registrations and the license plate is on the car. Very straight body, excellent gaps, no accidents, very clean and rust free spare tire area and battery box area. We put a set of fresh plugs in it, cleaned the points and it fired right up. See the video below.The car is all original and has no modifications other than the radio. Engine number is 6342332 and checks out as a 1974 911 S 176hp engine. The car retains its original mechanical fuel injection. We put 3 gallons of gas in the tank and the fuel pump is picking up the gas from the tank. The car runs when we squirt brake cleaner into the throttle body. Probably means that the mechanical fuel injection will have to be looked at since it is not injecting gas into the cylinders. The engine runs well with no knocks nor bottom end noise and fires on all cylinders. The engine is complete and is not missing anything. We believe the miles of 121245 to be original although the odometer is only 5 digit. Transmission is 5 speed. We filled the brake reservoir with fluid and the brakes began to pump up and have pedal. Emergency brake holds and all the lights and horn work when we put a fresh battery in the car. There are no blown fuses in the fuse box. Original throughout with factory leather interior (needing some repair) and carpets. Floors and closing panels are excellent with no rust. There is some scaly rust on the outside of the driver door. We have taken over 75 pictures and have included a link.

Porsche 911 with VW turbodiesel prepares for LeMons assault
Fri, 21 Mar 2014LeMons racing is a wonderful example that setting limits can actually breed creativity. The series mandates that all entries must cost $500, not counting safety equipment, and that cap forces teams to be ingenious in how they build a racecar. Take for example this diesel-powered Porsche 911, which its creators have dubbed Ferkel the Nein-11, that will be racing in the Sears Pointless race this weekend in Sonoma, California.
This Frankenstein combines a 911 chassis that was originally bought just for its European powertrain and a Volkswagen TDI diesel engine mounted in the rear. After deciding the shell could still be of some use, the team decided to go racing. "We began brainstorming what replacement drivetrain to use for maximum offense and there was really only one answer: a diesel," said Philipp von Weitershausen, one of the team captains, to Jalopnik. They bought a 1998 Jetta TDI on the cheap and started figuring out a way to hack the engine into the bay. To pay respect to the donor, the VW's trunk was highly modified (and drilled) and grafted onto the back of Ferkel.
This team isn't a newcomer to LeMons. Its last car was a classic VW Beetle with a Subaru engine and dual controls, named Ferdinand the Bug, which could be driven from the left or right side. It's quite a sight.
Motor Trend holds World's Greatest Drag Race for the third time
Fri, 23 Aug 2013As part of Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car competition, the buff book has held its third iteration of the World's Greatest Drag Race. With an airfield and a dozen of the world's finest performance cars at its disposal (oh, and a helicopter), the MT team did what any good group of enthusiasts would do, and tried to figure what car could cover a quarter mile the quickest. World's greatest drag race, indeed.
The contestants, as MT points out, cover a huge variety of engine types, drivelines, aspiration types and body styles, making for a genuinely varied and interesting field of competitors. Here's the full list of cars taking part.

Top Gear teases Porsche 918 vs McLaren P1 vs LaFerrari showdown
