Beautiful 1974 Porsche 911 Targa
No Reserve Auction - the highest bidder gets the car. VIN: 9114111961 Engine Number: 6144132 If you are looking for a beautiful Porsche to drive - congratulations - you just found your car. The Porsche is in overall good condition. The car was repainted once in black and looks good. There are some minor scratches and dings but the car is very presentable and the paint has a very nice shine. The body is very straight. The gaps are lining up as they should. No dents or imperfections in the body. No bondo. The targa top looks beautiful. All glass is good. The interior is beautiful. No cracks in the dashboard or in the leather. Everything inside makes a very clean impression. The headliner of the targa roof needs to be re attached - it became a little bit lose. The car runs like a dream. I was told by the previous owner that the engine was rebuild around 5000 miles ago but I don't have any paperwork at this point. I drove a lot of classic Porsche's in the past and I am pretty sure he didn't tell a lie. It is just a pleasure to get in the car and take off. The transmission/clutch does not slip even a little bit. The engine/transmission is dry - no oil/liquid leaks. I am always impressed by the performance of classic 911's. The horn does not work - everything else works without any problems. But the best at last - the entire body & undercarriage is completely free of any rust. Super solid car. The battery tray is still good but needs some attention in the future - some surface rust gets on it. The whole car is in beautiful condition but it is not a trailer queen - or was recently restored for $100k. Please keep this in mind. It will be easy to bring this car back to factory spec condition but I do not have the original engine hood, mirrors, or seats. I can send you a lot of photos - just asked for. All inspections are welcome. The car is located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. There is a $500 deposit within 24h of auctions end - if you can't make this deposit please don't bid. I can help with national and international shipping. I will sell this car worldwide. I have a clean title in hand - ready to sign over into your name. I will accept a wire transfer or cash - the Porsche won't leave my property until all funds have cleared. Ich spreche deutsch. For any questions please call me at 954-643-8380 or send me a message. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. |

Panamera-bodied SUV spy photos suggest Porsche Cayenne Coupe is coming
Fri, Aug 5 2016WIth the current Porsche Cayenne approaching its seventh model year an all new version is on the way. But we also here that there will be a coupe-style variant similar to the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe following soon after. And yes, we gave up this semantic fight long ago - in this case "coupe" simply means a sportier, lower roofline similar to the style of an actual two-door. These spy photos give us some idea of what a Cayenne coupe could look like, although only in very rough form. That's because you're looking at a 2017 Porsche Panamera body stretched over a taller SUV platform. Even with the low resolution of these long-lens pictures, you can see the extensions grafted on below the doors and bumpers. Of course, with Porsche styling language more of less consistent across its entire model range the general look of the next Cayenne - or Cayenne Coupe - won't be much of a surprise. And we expect the interior to closely mimic what we've seen with the new Panamera. The SUV's true visual character will depend on the details, and we'll have to wait for the production version to see that. PSA: Mark Webber can't text and drive and neither should you
Mon, Nov 16 2015Texting and driving is dangerous. You shouldn't do it. We really can't stress that enough. But if you won't listen to us, maybe you'll listen to Mark Webber. The Australian driver is one of the most accomplished in motor racing. As Sebastian Vettel's former wingman at Red Bull, he won nine Formula One grands prix and scored over a thousand championship points. And now as the headline driver in Porsche's endurance racing program, he and his teammates behind the wheel of the 919 Hybrid are currently in the lead to win the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship with just one round to go. Suffice it to say, then, that he knows a thing or two about the concentration it takes to drive. And it doesn't involve looking at your phone while doing so. To drive that point home (so to speak), he and Porsche put together this little public service announcement. It shows a distracted Webber piloting a 911 GT3 Cup around the Dubai Autodrome in the United Arab Emirates, messing up his racing line, missing his apices, spinning out, and nearly trashing the thing. Does the idea of looking at your phone while lapping a race track strikes you as ludicrous? Well, it should. But then, at the risk of coming across as preachy, so should the idea of texting while driving. Because if a racing driver should know better, so should you. Don't take our word for it, though... take it from Mark in the video above.
Supercars for the win | Autoblog Podcast #515
Fri, May 19 2017Some days at Autoblog are better than others. And in this episode, we talk about those days. Specifically, the days where we get to drive supercars. Mike Austin, Greg Migliore, and Alex Kierstein join up in this episode to talk about driving the McLaren 720S, Ford GT, and Porsche 911 GT3. We also drove some less-super, but still notable cars that we talk about at the top of the show. And as always, we play the game Spend My Money where we get to tell readers what we'd do if we were them. We had a lot of fun with this one, we hope you enjoy listening to it. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too.
