For sale is my 1972 Porsche 911T. This is a really nice example of a very sought after car with lots of nice options. The 911T has low miles considering its 41 year lifespan, no visible accident history of any kind and no rust and is in its original color of light yellow. The door jams and trunk are still original paint and you can see in the pictures this car is in excellent original unrestored shape. I have enjoyed driving this car, including the day I am listing it and a link below will show you some highlights. The engine runs and sounds great. 


The 1972 model year has the relocated oil tank for better weight distribution and the unique side access door. This car is a numbers matching car. It is a 5 spd, non sunroof coupe. The shut lines and panels are all excellent, and it has the famous "ping" of the door shutting on both sides indicating a solid, straight, non-abused example of an early Porsche. 

This 911 has been re-painted its original color once about 10 years ago and as you can see it is in excellent shape. There are no big dings or dents and no rust. The front trunk area has its original paint and spare date code 12-71 (The car is a 1-72 production date). 

This car comes with an amazing amount  of paperwork and documentation from the original owner, the original owners manual and service book with owners history and ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER. The auction also includes the original steering wheel (leather wrapped S type date coded 1972) and original tool kit, and two additional fuchs wheels with tires that are original to this car (so 7 total fuchs wheels will be included in this sale). I also have the original front headlamps and chrome surrounds and NOS chrome bumper overiders for the front. It also will come with a nice car cover. 

The car drives very strong and handles extremely well with its brand new Pirelli tires on it. The wheels were recently polished and repainted and look great as you can see. I do have the center caps although they are not shown in the photos. 

This 911 has S gauges and trim, S calipers and struts, spoiler etc.... The engine runs strong. The transmissions shifts smoothly and feels direct and more precise than all others I have driven. The brakes were recently done. 

The interior has nice shape original seats with minor wear, a small tear..also on the headliner over the driver and two cracks on the original dash. All gauges work except the clock that just went out. The original interior carpeting is worn in all the typical areas, but it is 41 year old carpeting! The interior although showing wear, is great because of its originality. 

The engine runs strong and mechanically this car is sound but it does leak oil (yes most do) but this is simply a seal issue from being in storage so long without driving and not related heads or pistons etc...

I would not be selling this rare car if it were not for a son headed to college this next week. I have waited as long as I could! I hope that it stays here in California, but at the very least goes to a good home. It is worth more than what I am asking, many that know values of these early cars have shared that with me so if you want to buy it now, you can below market value.

Porsche celebrates 50 years of 911 with some excellent pics

The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars of all time, and to celebrate the car's first 50 years, Porsche has released a stunning set of photos showing how far the 911 has come from the original back in 1963 to its current 991 generation. Unlike the recent 60-year photo spread that Chevrolet put together for the Corvette, though, Porsche's gallery only shows the original 911 and the current car.
Each time the 911 is redesigned, the car's front fenders, roofline and the shape of the side windows are key focal points. Even some of the interior cues have remained the same over the years, including the positioning of the ignition key on the left of the steering column and the five-gauge instrument cluster layout.

Porsche releases special edition 911 GTS Club Coupe

Porsche is never afraid to add one more variant of the 911 to the lineup, but its latest inclusion to the range is being kept extra limited, to keep things super special. The automaker is building just 60 examples of the 911 GTS Club Coupe, and only members of the Porsche Club of America can order them. The organization fittingly celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Prices for 59 of the cars start at $136,060, plus $995 destination, with deliveries in June, and club members can win the last car (the showcar) as a prize. Mechanically, these vehicles take the 430-horsepower engine, wider body and rest of the updates from the regular 911 GTS, but all of these come in a unique color called Club Blau. The cobalt shade gets set off with black frames around the bi-xenon headlights, tinted taillights and black chrome exhaust outlets. The limited coupes also get a vintage-inspired ducktail rear spoiler and 20-inch Sport Classic wheels in a mix of semi-gloss black and polished metal that evoke the look of the classic Fuchs wheels on older 911s. For added contrast inside, the seat stitching, seat belts and tachometer are offset in red. Plus, the trim for the dashboard, doors and center console features carbon fiber. Capping things off, a plaque reading "GTS Club Coupe 60 Years Porsche Club of America" is near the glovebox. Being a Porsche, there are still options on these special models. The Extended Club Coupe Package goes so far as to include the key painted in Club Blau and adds leather-edged floormats. A custom car cover is also available. Porsche busts out new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS

Baby 911. The poor man's Porsche. That's what they called the Boxster when it debuted some 20 years ago. They said the same of the first Cayman when it arrived a decade later, but they stopped saying it when the latest iterations hit the scene two years ago. That's because Zuffenhausen's entry-level models have long since stepped out of their big brother's shadow and into their own. And that's all the more true of the new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS.
Based on the Boxster S and Cayman S, the new GTS models benefit from an enhanced 3.4-liter flat six that produces 330 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque in the roadster or 340 hp and 280 lb-ft in the coupe - representing an increase of 15 hp and 7 lb-ft in either model. Both also come with the Sport Chrono package as standard, along with adjustable suspension and 20-inch alloys, blacked out to match the dynamic headlight surrounds and other muted trim.
Those disappointed by the unavailability of a manual transmission in the fire-prone 911 GT3 will be pleased to note that a six-speed manual comes standard, but those enamored of letting a pair of clutches shift themselves seamlessly will want to spring for the optional seven-speed DCT. So equipped and with launch control engaged, the Boxster GTS will rocket from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds, while the incrementally lighter, more powerful Cayman will hit it in 4.6. Either way you're looking at a third of a second quicker than the Boxster/Cayman S. There's also a 20-millimeter lowered suspension on offer for track-day enthusiasts.
