Original California rust free find match numbers. 84K actual miles.  This 911 started its life in the hands of Mark Sussman then a 40 year old that was at that time one of many inspired by the mighty Porsche 917s and also the recent world rally championship win by the factory 911T. Mark found his way to then the hot spot for Porsches, Vasek Polak Porsche Audi in Hermosa Beach California. Vasek Polak was the west coasts largest Porsche Audi Dealer and supporter for his race team and also customers Porsche racing efforts.

Mark purchased this example on a special order on January 15th 1970. He was filled with much anticipation to finally drive his very own famous Porsche. As he drove away he was captivated by the sounds of the 911 race inspired engine.

Mr. Sussman enjoyed many decades of Porsche enthusiast times and events in his 911. Mark eventually updated his Porsche passion with a new 911. Still in love with his first 911 he kept it stored away in the family garage. There it sat for decades but driven once in a while to keep it alive and to relive the unforgettable sounds of the 2.2 liter short stroke engine. The car ultimately was passed on to his son who didn’t like yellow and painted it black. His son didn’t use the car but a few times keeping it covered at his home. There is when I ran into him and purchased the 911 in San Diego. I have owned, loved and enjoyed this car for many years myself. Reluctantly I have to pass it on to another Porsche enthusiast.

This 911 with its low mileage is in superior running and driving condition. Since I owned it I have done my share of updating and maintenance. The interior is mostly original and the Color should be returned to the original Light yellow color. It has the original spare tire a Dunlap dog bone, and including the original books with early Vasek Polak receipts including the original registration card.  Call Jeff for more details 480 466 2437

Porsche 911 RSR stops just long enough to have its photo taken

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

When it comes to Porsche and its rapidly escalating endurance racing program, all eyes may be on the new 919 Hybrid - and with good reason: that's the vehicle with which Porsche will be challenging the likes of Audi and Toyota for wins in the top-tier LMP1 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans. But it's the 911 RSR that does and will continue to form the backbone of the factory's effort.
The 470-horsepower racing version of the road-going 911 took a one-two finish in its class at Le Mans last year, and also won its class at the Daytona 24 this past January as well. This year Porsche will field two of them in the WEC, another two in the United SportsCar Championship here in the US and will sell countless more to customer racing teams that will undoubtedly continue to rack up trophies in racing series around the world. This, then, might be a unique chance to see one standing still. Check it out in our gallery of live images above from the Geneva Motor Show.

Race Recap: 2013 Petit Le Mans draws curtain on the ALMS [spoilers]

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

The 16th Petit Le Mans Powered By Mazda, in the final year of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, was run on Saturday. Even though many of this year's championships had already been decided, the last ALMS race ever would be a 10-hour, 1,000-mile slog around Road Atlanta to get names in the record books and decide a few series trophies.
Since some of you will only get around to your TIVOs (or Fox Sports coverage) today, you should stop reading now if you don't want to know who did what...

Watch Porsche's 918 Spyder break a sweat while hot weather testing

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

With five months left until the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder enters production, Porsche engineers are still putting the hybrid sports coupe through a battery of last-minute tests. To give us new reasons to ogle over the car - as if we needed any more - Porsche has released a short video showing the 918 Spyder undergoing shakedown tests in the hot Nevada desert. And you can't drive through Nevada without visiting Vegas, too, right?
Although there's really nothing new to see in this video, it's still fun to watch as Porsche approaches one million test miles logged on this exciting new high-performance model. One interesting part (at around the 0:37 mark) shows the car taking off under electric power and then transitioning to engine power, which results in a mix of whirs and growls as the 918 Spyder switches from a 127-horsepower electric vehicle to an 887-hp hybrid supercar. Scroll down to watch - and hear - Porsche's latest creation in motion.
