Original California Black Plate,

1963 Porsche 356B Super Cabriolet

This Porsche 356 has been completely restored.  The car is a stunning investment grade vehicle that is appreciating at a fast rate. I bought this California car from the 2nd owner, had have driven it for years and recently restored it (original owner only owned the car for 9 months in 1963/64). The engine has 25k miles on it since we rebuilt it.

Not only is the car gorgeous, it's a superbly running and handling ride.

The car has been professionally restored top to bottom:
  • New two stage Porsche 356 Silver paint ( original color is cream),
  • Completely new interior black/charcoal,
  • Rebuilt engine 1740 plus cc,
  • New chrome,
  • New rubber/seals,
  • Rebuilt gauges,
  • New Sigla windshield (Porsche OEM supplier),
  • New lower door skins,
  • New soft-top with zipper window and new padding.
  • And much more...

The car bottom is original with the original undercoat in many areas (we have not recoated it so you can see it);

Rockers & jack area are clean, battery box was replaced a decade ago and has no rust.

The steering wheel and horn have not been replaced or redone because they look cool worn a bit though the entire dash has been restored.

Engine p*703519*: Porsche 356 Super though we upped the cylinders to 1740 cc's, and powered painted all sheet metal and finished off with the original water transfer decals. The engine has 25k miles on it since its being rebuilt starts first time, and runs like a top!

Trans: 4 speed original

Paint : Silver Porsche code, two stage with the best clear coat on the market.

Interior: Black interior upholstery with charcoal square weave German carpet.

Soft top: Black with haring bone headliner.

Wheels: Chrome rims with Porsche hub caps (not original) with steal belted tires in good condition.

The car was rust free except for the doors and when we went to re-skin them, I decided to restore the whole car instead because trying to match 25 year old paint would be impossible, so we restored the entire car.

I have owned a number of 356's over the years and I restore them to look great but be reliable classic you can actually drive and have fun with! Each has sold quickly because of the quality we do AutoMagic Network.com.

All of my cars are meant to be driven and used though there are meticulously done. We own a body shop in Hermosa Beach Ca. and we also own a detail shop so this car has been well taken care of.

What it needs, if you want:

The letter "S" (for Super) could be put on the car (we have it in the glove box).

Steering box is a little sticky and could be rebuilt or replaced ( I have replacement seals).

Few chrome bolts on the sets brackets should be replaced because the original chrome tops are worn and the replacements have flat heads ( I don't like that).

A piece of dust got is in the paint on the drives side quarter panel which should be color sanded or blended ( Porsche Silver).

Interior light and cigarette lighter needs to be hooked up.

Bonuses:

The car has a complete tool kit with mostly original tools;

Porsche name plate under hood has been re-plated in nickel and looks amazing;

356 shop manual,

Owners manual/book,

Extra electrical/mechanical parts,

Original tube radio with original speaker covers and new speakers are included.

Complete file on the car with receipts from the last decade.

Porsche close to fix for 911 GT3 engine fires

Sun, 16 Mar 2014

It looks like 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 drivers might actually get to drive their cars again soon. Reports of fires affecting the track-ready Germans first began about a month ago. Then, a few days later, the automaker confirmed two of the five alleged blazes and said owners shouldn't drive their cars until further notice. Porsche then went so far as to offer to pick up the GT3s and transport them to the nearest dealer until the problem was identified and a fix was found. Finally, there appears to be a repair.
"We know the reason and the problem-solving measures. We're testing them," said Porsche CEO Matthias Müller to Bloomberg. The technical fix will be released to owners shortly.
The recall affects all 785 GT3s that have been sold so far, but there have been no reported injuries caused by the fires. When it first announced the safety campaign, Porsche said: "Internal studies to determine the cause of the engine damage have not been completed yet."

The dream of the '90s is alive in Porsche 968 retro review

Tue, Jun 30 2015

Only a month after Porsche confirmed that the next-generation Boxster and Cayman will get four-cylinder engines, it is apt that we have a MotorWeek retro review of the 1992 Porsche 968. Porsche hoped the 968 – nee 944 – and its naturally-aspirated, 3.0-liter, four-cylinder would revive sales of its entry-level line, but that didn't happen: going on sale in 1992, 1995 was its last year on the market. This was at a time when a stock 968 coupe cost $39,850, surpassing the out-the-door price of a loaded Chevrolet Corvette. The 968 convertible cost $51,000. That didn't stop MotorWeek's unanimous support of the 968, praising its design, the delivery of its 236 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque, and its handling - MotorWeek called it "Pure 90s performance," in spite of some fiddly switchgear and a noisy, firm ride. You can watch the review above. We have a feeling Porsche's four-cylinder fortunes will go much better this time around.
