UP FOR BIDDING HERE IS MY BABY, I CALL HER "CHERRY BOMB". 1976 PONTIAC SPORTE COUPE LEMANS. ORIGINAL PONTIAC 350.THE ENGINE WAS A 2 BARREL THAT I SWITCHED TO 4 WITH AN EDELBROCK CARB AND INTAKE, & HEDDMAN HEADERS. THE EXHAUST WAS RUSTY TRASH SO I CUT OFF THE MUFFLERS AND MOUNTED THEM TO THE HEADERS. RUNS GREAT, FIRES UP EVERYTIME. THE TRANNY RECENTLY STARTED SLIPPING @ 20MPH. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO REBUILD THE TRANNY, BEING THAT I AM MOVING AND THERES NO PLACE TO KEEP IT. MUST SELL. I DID SOME MINOR BODY WORK AND REPAINTED IT BACK IN 2009. THERE IS SOME SURFACE RUST POPPING UP DUE TO THE BAD RESTORE JOB. IT ORIGINALLY HAD A QUARTER VINYLE ROOF WHICH WAS REMOVED. I HAVE THE BOTTOM TRIM UNDER THE DOORS AND WHEEL WELL AND ALSO THE EMBLEMS. THE MILAGE IS UNKNOWN. THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS A RIP. THERE S A SMALL DING TYPE SCRATCH ON THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL. THIS WAS MY DAILY DRIVER. THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD LOCALLY AS WELL AS EBAY. SO THE AUCTION IS DUE TO REMOVAL WITH OUT NOTICE. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME SELLING A CAR ON EBAY, SO IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK. PAYPAL ONLY.

Rent the 1967 Pontiac GTO from the XxX films now on Turo
Tue, Jan 10 2017The process of renting a car usually ranges from mildly annoying to "I'm calling corporate to get you fired." Plainly, it sucks, but sometimes you're left with no alternative. Turo, a peer-to-peer carsharing network, has created what's essentially the AirBnB for cars. Like AirBnB, the quality and variety of the rides varies based on location. If you're in Tucson, Ariz., in the next week, go check out this 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible before the release of XxX: The Return of Xander Cage. Promotions and marketing aside, this is still the opportunity to drive one of the original muscle cars. It's not clear if this is an original GTO or a Pontiac Tempest that was converted, but does it really matter? Old cars never drive as well as you hope, so, as long as it looks and sounds awesome, who cares? The owner listed on Turo is Xander C., Vin Diesel's character from the XxX franchise. This is the car that was used in the original 2002 film, and from the photos it appears to be in better shape than many other movie cars. The exterior is mostly stock, with some slight modifications to the lighting, wheels, exhaust, and trim, with the addition of a funky looking hood scoop that the listing claims shoots flames. It's not clear if it functions as an actual intake because there aren't any notes about what rests under the hood. The listing does ask for premium fuel, so more than likely it's some variation of a high-compression V8. Inside, the dashboard looks like someone raided the AutoZone accessory aisle. There are gauges, dials, toggle switches, and readouts galore. The listing also claims the Goat is packing a rocket launcher and a weapons stash under the seat. $999 per day isn't cheap, but it's less than you'd pay for a day with one of the rent-an-exotic shops you see in Los Angeles or New York. If you're not in Tucson or the price is a little too steep, Turo has what it's dubbed the Adrenaline Collection. The name may be hyperbole, but the lineup of cars is actually really solid. A quick glance reveals a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider, and a 1969 Jaguar E-Type. The car list keeps expanding, so if this proves popular, look for more cool stuff in the future. This GTO-El Camino mashup is the muscle truck of our dreams
Fri, Aug 31 2018There were a hell of a lot of great muscle cars in the mid-1960s, from the baroque Dodges and Plymouths of the earlier part of the decade to the wild big boys like the Boss 429 and Olds 442 W30. Right in the middle of the decade, two of the most iconic of the bunch emerged — the Pontiac GTO and second-generation Chevy El Camino. And this one is a 1964 Chevy El Camino with the heart and face of its GTO cousin, and dubbed the El Chieftain GTO. It's currently for sale at RM Sotheby's Auburn auction, with no reserve status or estimate listed. This looks like a product that Pontiac could have sold at the time — its builder, Ron Lindeman, did an excellent job making it look like a factory product, right down to the taillight strakes inspired by the GTO. It's powered by a 389 — a Pontiac motor that was actually found in period GTOs, but sporting a single four-barrel instead of the sexy Tri-Power setup. It is, however, equipped with a Hurst four-speed manual and the grille badge to prove it to bystanders. Even the interior is made up to look like a GTO. We wish there was more of a description of the build in the listing, but if you love it, do us one better and buy the thing and invite us to poke around it. We are very much in love with this muscle-truck mashup. Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
