You are bidding on a true 1970 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible that was produced in Baltimore Maryland. It was a factory 350 8-Cylinder/2Barrel car with less than 100,000 made.It is car # 7804.It is a floorshift automatic. I have had the car for a few years now and planned on finishing it with my father but lost interest in doing so. It has a ton of new parts on it which I will try to do my best in listing most of them. Someone replaced the rear quarter panels already but bondoed over them and it didn't look good. We started to grind down the rear quarter panels but obviously did not finish it. It has all new floors, trunk pan, hood, trunk lid, stainless steel exhaust, brakes including brake lines, rotors, calipers, pads and everything else. The interior carpet is new.The seats need reupholstering and it needs a top.The hydraulic top motor is brand new and works fine. The undercarriage is virtually rust free and the body has no rust that I know of(I am not a body guy or mechanic by any means). I bought a fully rebuilt 1970 350 Engine bored over .30 that has everything brand new including pistons(i have the receipt). The body has 100,000 miles. I have what I believe to be the original engine that came out of the car but am really not sure. The car will come with both engines. The rebuilt engine is ready to be installed when someone finishes the body work.I will try to take pictures of the engines sometime this week. The transmission is probably the original but honestly not sure. I did have the car registered and on the road and it shifted fine.I have all the parts to make it a complete car again and then some. I have so many extra parts that come with the car including another metal convertible top frame. So you will need a truck and trailer. We will be sad to see it go but someone with the time and patience will have a super nice car once finished. I'm sure I am forgetting a lot of things so feel free to ask any questions. Thank you and happy bidding!

Destiny: General Motors should bring back Pontiac
Wed, Apr 26 2017Despite having officially left the market in 2010, the Pontiac badge is still a common sight on roadways throughout the United States. Towards the end of its life, Pontiac models were largely rebadged versions of other General Motors vehicles, like the Pontiac G5 and Chevrolet Cobalt. It's sad, but there's no other way to put it; Pontiac was a mere shadow of its former self at the time of its death. Now it's time to revive the legendary brand. General Motors announced it would be reviving the Redline series, a package that originated with Saturn, another dead brand, earlier this year. Some models, like the Chevrolet Camaro will receive unique cosmetic touches designed to make it look even sportier, something Pontiac excelled at in most cases. Gas prices have fallen dramatically in the past few years and consumers have taken notice. Sales of fuel efficient cars, like hybrids and compact sedans, aren't increasing at the same rate as larger, less efficient vehicles, like trucks and SUVs. Muscle cars, like the Ford Mustang, are seeing increasing sales as well. Perhaps it's time to revive Pontiac and restore the marque to its former glory: a brand that brought performance and style at an affordable price. There are currently few manufacturers that offer a true challenge to high-performance automakers like BMW. The German brand continues to see high sales year after year and performance has a lot to do with it. Brand recognition, namely through the BMW badge, plays a major role as well. Pontiac, arguably one of the most well-known brands to ever grace the industry, can match both factors with ease. Pontiac was once revered as a brand that revolutionized the muscle car segment in the 1970s and 1980s. It still has a lively following throughout enthusiast spheres and amongst drivers of all ages to this day. Reviving the brand with a small line of high-performance vehicles would certainly offer a challenge to dominating German brands. A small lineup of affordable vehicles bearing the Pontiac badge and designed for performance and style would certainly make waves in the current market. Reviving a few older nameplates, such as the GTO and Trans Am, would offer nostalgic appeal. Packing both models with a powerful entry-level engine, say the Camaro's turbocharged four-cylinder or V6 engine, would open up the market considerably.
GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years
'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown
Fri, 22 Aug 2014Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.
