Here is a chance to buy a great, original classic. This 1966 Pontiac Lemans was purchased new in Honolulu, Hawaii, where its owner was stationed in the Navy. From there, it went to a few different states on the mainland, ending up in Florida. The original owner kept it until their exterminator bought it from them. He told me he had it almost 10 years when I bought it from him. It's pretty much original, except for one repaint. The interior is 100% original ! Original seats, seat belts, steering wheel, carpet, headliner, door panels, dash, radio, visors, rear package tray...even the original keys! Other than a hole the diameter of your little finger, the headliner is excellent. The package tray needs replaced from sun damage, the radio turns on but doesn't make any noise, and all but the right rear power windows still work. I never looked to see if it was the switch or the motor, but assume the worst and you won't be disappointed. The factory power antenna still works. It has all of it's original glass. It looks like all of it's original body panels.
The car comes with all 5 of its original Rally 1 wheels. I have 4 trim rings and center caps, but three of them don't want to stay on. The original jack and hardware is in the trunk. The original owners manual and folder from Kapiolani Motors is still in the glove compartment, as is the original tire pressure decal. I love stuff like that !
The car runs and drives incredibly. It starts with one pump of the gas, idles immediately, and it accelerates smoothly. The power steering is amazing in these old cars. The power brakes work well, and the power booster was replaced earlier this year. They stop the car effortlessly, but if you hit them really hard, they will pull a bit. I'm sure its just an adjustment. For normal driving, they're great. The headlight and taillights work, along with the brake lights and back up lights. The horn and wipers work also. You can fly in and drive this home without fear. The engine has never been apart, and has only received normal maintenance items. Water pump, hoses, tune up items, etc. were obviously changed, but the engine was never painted up, no aftermarket goodies added...just normal wear and tear items to keep it running well. 88,000 actual, original miles, and you'd never know it.
The 326 engine is quiet and powerful. No crazy dual exhaust, no aftermarket intakes or carbs, just a great, original looking and running V-8. The automatic transmission shifts like a new car. Instant engagement, smooth and quiet operation, all operated through the factory console mounted shifter.
It's a time capsule waiting to be freshened up for its new owner. If you wanted to make a GTO clone, it would be a great candidate.
It does have a few spots here and there, s you can see in the photos, but much less than the average I've seen in GTOs and other cars of that era. The trunk was patched with a thick piece of steel, and though rusty looking, you can stand on it. It's very solid.
My description of this car is what you will say when you see it. It's not a show car, and it's not a restored cruiser. It's not a barn find since it was always registered. It's a lightly used, well maintained classic Pontiac with the similiar good looks of the famous GTO, and could be someone's daily driver just as it sits. It's an affordable antique that can be driven home and enjoyed, all while you fix up what you want.
YOU CAN OWN THIS CAR FOR $10,900. If you want to wait the auction out, the reserve price is a little bit lower than that. If you don't want to wait, don't. If you do, good luck...it just might save you some money.

2020 Porsche 911 Speedster spied with an angry driver
Wed, Feb 13 2019Porsche gave us details and showed us a concept of the 911 Speedster at the Paris Motor Show. Today, we bring you spy shots of what appears to be the production version of that concept with a few changes on board. They're rather minimal modifications, but the Speedster's driver appears especially angry with our spy photographer as he extends his middle finger directly toward the camera. Sorry, not sorry, Mr. Test Driver. Public testing of pre-production cars always comes with photo risks, and Porsches tend to attract more attention than others. You'll notice what appears to be a Cayenne Coupe prototype we've previously spotted running around with the 911. The Speedster Concept we saw in Paris had epic retro mirrors and fuel cap on the front hood, but both those design touches are absent from this pre-production car. It's tougher to see, but we lost the vents in between the two humps, as well. Everything else appears to have made it to production-spec. We can't say we're surprised these concept car features probably won't show up on the production car, but it is a tad deflating. You'll notice the Speedster is based-off the 991.2 generation of 911 and not the new 992. Porsche did a similar thing when the 997 generation was coming to an end with a Speedster model paying tribute to that car's life. The chassis is said to utilize parts from the 911 GT3, and the wonderful naturally aspirated flat-six engine gets carried over from that car, too. Porsche didn't specify if power will be exactly the same as the GT3, but we'll be expecting about 500 horsepower and a 9,000 rpm redline. We were told the six-speed manual would be offered on the Speedster in Paris, too. Let's just say that we strongly approve of that combination. Production will be limited to only 1,948 cars and begin in the first half of this year. We'll expect a reveal with a full spec breakdown soon, possibly for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Looking Back At Oprah's Free-Car Giveaway 10 Years Later

It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6." But this is not just any G6. This car is a part of television history. Vielweber won her G6 10 years ago at a taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show, when Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car. It was an unprecedented stunt that changed lives, generated controversy and ultimately failed to provide enough of a marketing lift for Pontiac, which would be shuttered just over five years later. September 13 marks the 10-year anniversary of the memorable event, which caught everyone, including audience members, by surprise. In a masterful display of showmanship, Oprah dialed up the suspense to match the enormity – and cost – of the event. First she gave away 11 cars, which would have been a landmark TV promotion by itself. But then she coyly announced: "I've got a little twist." Models circulated throughout the audience carrying silver platters loaded with white boxes wrapped in red ribbon. One contained a set of keys, Oprah implied, for another audience member to win the final car. "Do not open it. Do not shake it," she commanded the crowd. Finally, with the suspense built to a fevered pitch, everyone opened their box. They all had keys. "You get a car! You get a car! You get a car! You get a car! Everybody gets a car!" Oprah exclaimed. But not everyone kept it. William Toebe attended the show with his wife, Jillaine, and he immediately thought of the tax implications, which stretched to $6,000 or more for some audience members. Distracted driver crosses center line and hits police car
Wed, Apr 6 2016Attentive driving and quick reflexes saved the life of a police officer in Hudson, WI, when an oncoming driver drifted into the officer's lane and struck his cruiser. According to KMSP, the officer was patrolling along a busy road through Hudson on March 31 when the crash occurred. Dash cam video from the patrol car which was released to local media shows the dramatic collision unfold. As the officer came around a mild left-hand curve, a white, 90s-era Pontiac Grand Am continued straight through the curve, across the center line, and directly into the officer's path. The officer was able to avoid a head-on collision, but the Pontiac still struck the driver's side of the patrol car. "Both the officer and the other driver are ok, however, this accident could have been much, much worse," said a Hudson Police Department official on the department's Facebook page. "So please remember to pay attention to your driving at all times when behind the wheel." Minnesota's Department of Public Safety estimates that one in every four crashes in the State of Minnesota are caused by distracted drivers. DPS believes that the actual number may be higher, but police often have difficulty proving distracted driving as the cause of a crash.
