1969 GTO convertible project car. Not the original engine, currently has a 1967 400 runs but it is tired. Needs full restoration including a section of frame rail repair in front of right rear wheel which is pictured. Also includes a clean section of frame from a donor to make that repair also pictured.
The car is a true GTO with PHS paperwork , triple blue, base motor car with automatic. Low option car ,Warwick blue, auto, rally wheels ,rally gauges (no tach) ,custom steering wheel, non A/C , has remote mirror , am radio , console , PS , 8 track player option but it is long gone , is a hideaway headlight car but has been converted to fixed headlights long ago, hideaway setup is also long gone. I have other projects , so I am not keeping this car. Has a new gas tank installed, gauges all work , runs and drives but this car is not roadworthy , needs to be restored by the next owner, has most of the body to frame bolts removed, the two center ones at mid frame are broken off in the body nuts, the 4 front bolts and nuts at firewall are still in place , the rest of the bolts had come out normally, and all rubber cushions are still between the frame and the body.
It needs new sheet metal all around or at least repairs to some parts, quarters and wheelhouses need to be replaced, the rest is up to the new owner to repair or replace.
Convertible top works up and down well, motor is fine . Floors are pretty solid but have surface rust under ancient dealer installed undercoat.
New, uninstalled parts include: full length steel fuel lines and pump to carb line, full set of brake hard lines and flex lines, NOS am radio in the box.
This is a big project for an experienced technician, but is a true 1969 GTO convertible 24267 vin built mid oct 1968 in Baltimore.
This car sold as is where is, with no warranties, guarantees or promises. Car will be sold final sale, no refunds. Is currently reg'd in CT, and since it is a CT car older than 1981, there is no title, and CT DMV will not furnish one, car will be sold with a CT bill of sale. Car can be viewed in person , just email me, and feel free to ask any questions, I will answer all. Thanks

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported
Thu, 13 Feb 2014General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.
How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
