2002 Pontiac Slingshot This car IS NOT a WS6, it is much, much faster, handles immensely better and is more luxurious! It IS NOT a Firehawk, it is much, much faster, handles better and is far more luxurious. It is not a Blackbird, it is much, much faster, handles better and is far more luxurious! This brand new Firebird Trans AM with
every factory option was transformed into a SUPERCAR. Literally, few nuts and bolts were left unturned making, the last production year,
the last “of the breed” into a true exotic supercar. There will never be another Pontiac Trans AM Slingshot! The goal of the transformation was fairly simple…use revised proprietary vehicle geometry, increased power output, reduced unsprung weight and reduced the drag coefficient to build a one-of-a-kind best of the best among Supercars of the era. The end product of all these modifications results in a ONE-OF-KIND exotic American Supercar capable of absolutely extraordinary thrust off the line and through the lower gears, freight train-like pull even in 5th and 6th gears, and slalom capability that outperforms any Ferrari of the time. At over 400 HP, the Slingshot is a truly high performance car that was designed as a drag racing or circuit track vehicle, though it never has been raced. The car has resided in a private collection since its original build. It is believed that no other Slingshot was produced, so this is the only one in existence. The original sticker price of a Trans AM optioned like this one was approximately $30,000 in 2002. This build added approximately another $40,000 to the sticker price at the time. The Slingshot was a $70,000 Supercar in 2002. During the years in a private collection, the Slingshot was maintained in immaculate condition, and at 1,554 original miles the car is essentially new. It can be enjoyed as a driver, preserved as an investment, or shown as a rare example of a now gone breed. Be prepared to be stunned. This beautiful, extraordinarily powerful exceptional handling, rare one-of-a-kind driving machine is yours for the bidding! You have seen other 2002 Trans AM's for sale for $40,000 and $35,000. The Slingshot is much more rare, can run rings around any stock Trans AM, and most importantly is priced to sell at a lower reserve. Good Luck and thanks for looking! All

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
Enter now to win this impeccably restored 1969 Pontiac GTO
Wed, Feb 16 2022Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability are subject to change. No donation or payment necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze. Normally when we post about Omaze, it is about some kind of incredible car sweepstakes. Today, well, to be honest, it is more of the same, but in the case of this tastefully done 1969 Pontiac GTO, we don’t even care if you head over to the sweepstakes page to enter, just do it for the photos. ThatÂ’s right. As a self-described automotive photography snob myself, I have to say that the photos of this GTO are far and away the best IÂ’ve ever seen on Omaze. And while youÂ’re over there, might as well enter the drawing. Who doesnÂ’t want that lean, green, muscle machine in their driveway? IÂ’m more of a fastback Mustang guy, and even I was drooling over that GTO. Win a Restored 1969 Pontiac GTO - Enter at Omaze Here are the specs of the restored 1969 Pontiac GTO in question, according to Omaze: Maximum Seating: 5 Engine: 461 ci fuel-injected V8 Transmission: Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual Drivetrain: RWD Exterior Color: Verdero Green Interior Color: Black Maximum Horsepower: 575 hp Maximum Torque: 620 lb-ft Approximate Retail Value: $100,000 Cash Alt: $75,000 Special Features: Butler Performance-built EFI 461, Fast EFI v2.1, 3.73 Gears with Eaton Posi Traction, Wilwood 6-piston brakes with hydroboost, Ridetech Coilovers and muscle bars, Chassis Works billet drop spindles, staggered 18” Budnik billet wheels, Budnik steering wheel IÂ’m not the only one on the Autoblog staff who thinks this restoration is worthy of a little praise. News Editor Joel Stocksdale picked it above all the other current Omaze offerings for our holiday staff picks post. HereÂ’s what he had to say: “There are an awful lot of ways to build a restomod. And a lot of those ways can be boring or tasteless. This one is neither. This is a seriously classy Pontiac GTO. Under the hood is a 461 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance that's based on an actual Pontiac V8, not just another Chevy engine. The whole thing is subtle with a low-key metallic green and clean gray wheels. There isn't any overly flashy chrome or decals. And the interior is the same with just an upgraded steering wheel, shifter and pedals in an otherwise stock cabin. Oh, and it has a manual.
Pontiac and McLaren once hooked up, and it was rad
Fri, Jun 24 2022Most of us would bend over backwards to have a chance to own a McLaren car, but few can afford such extravagance. That said, there’s a way you can get behind the wheel of a legitimate McLaren without breaking the bank. For 1989 and 1990, the Pontiac Grand Prix was offered in a limited-edition ASC-McLaren variant that featured tuning and updates from the iconic British automaker. Examples of this rare coupe rarely surface for sale, so itÂ’s surprising to see this low-mile 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix ASC-McLaren on eBay. The car is the result of a partnership between American Specialty Cars-McLaren (ASC-McLaren) and Pontiac. WeÂ’re not talking about the McLaren Formula 1 team or even the iconic McLaren road cars here. The McLaren connection comes from an arm of the automakerÂ’s powertrain engineering department. The Grand PrixÂ’s standard 3,1-liter V6 got a massage and a turbocharger, adding 65 horsepower for a total of 205 ponies and 225 pound-feet of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. That output is modest by todayÂ’s standards, and it wasnÂ’t outrageous even by 1990 standards, but the car returned a decent 0-60 mph time of around 7 seconds. The $5,000 ASC-McLaren package added a load of cool 1980s tech to the Grand PrixÂ’s interior, some of which is surprisingly advanced for the time. The car got a head-up display and a digital display on the dash. The steering wheel should be delightfully familiar to anyone who remembers a top-end Pontiac of the era, with the entire center of the wheel filled with buttons instead of the airbags we see today. The car had insanely padded bucket seats front and rear(!) with a distinctive pear shape. Many sources peg production numbers between 2,500 and 3,500 units, so the car is relatively rare compared to its mass-produced Pontiac counterparts. This oneÂ’s got just 17,746 miles on the clock, too, and appears to be in excellent condition. ItÂ’s had just two owners and no reported accidents. The seller notes a little surface rust from the car being in storage so long. This era of GM cars tended to deteriorate quickly, so a bit of surface rust shouldnÂ’t be a huge issue.
