When I Bought this Car, It Was Nice. I've Spent Time and Money To Make it Nicer. I Will Include With Sale The Paperwork Which Shows The Improvements I've Paid For - Parts And Service By Only The Most Qualified Local Specialists, Which Total Thousands and Thousands $$ - Including But Not Limited To:

New Upper And Lower Radiator Hoses / All  New Freeze Plugs / New Control Arm Bushings / New Lower Ball Joints / New Tie Rod Ends / New Front Shocks / New Rear Leaf Spring Plates / Upgraded Brake Calipers / New Window Felts / New Window Trim / Window Pillar Interior Mouldings / Arm Rest Pad / Windshield Wiper Mechanisms / New Weather Stripping For Windows And Trunk / New Door Interior Widow Mechanisms / New Door Handle Assemblies / New Wiring For Turn Signals, Horn, And Gauges / New Chrome Alternator / New Fuel Pump, Filter And Gas Gauge Sending Unit / New Gauge Cluster: Oil Pressure/Temp/Voltage / New Dual Exhaust – 2 1/2 “ From Stock Exhaust Manifolds With  Chrome Tips / New Turbo Mufflers –Throaty, Street-Friendly Note With Balanced Flow And Backpressure

Temperature Gauge Has Not Gone Over About 190 In The Heat Of Our Florida Summer. In The Cooler Months, It Settles Around 160-170. These Pontiacs Typically Run Hot, But I’ve Not Had That Problem And I Thank The Oversized Radiator.  Oil Pressure Runs 40psi.

The Car Has Very Little Rust And The Frame Is Very Straight. Frame, Floor Pans, Wheel Wells, Rear Quarters are All Clean. There Is Evidence Of Resin Repair On The Top Of The Right Rear Fender Hip Just Past The Side Window – Just A Slight Crack And Otherwise Unnoticeable And Very Straight.  There Is 1.5” Of Circular Bubbling On The Passenger Doorskin Near The Bottom Of The Door Under The Handle.

Chrome Is Complete And All Shines Well. The Rear Bumper Is Immaculate And Has Clearly Been Replaced With A Very Nice Reproduction. The Front Nose Chrome Has A Little Pitting As Is Typical Of A 45 Year-Old Original. I’ve Done The Best I Can With Chrome Polish.

The Rally Wheels Are In Beautiful Condition With No Apparent Scratches Or Dents And Trim Rings Are All Present And Gleaming.

Michelin LT4 Tires Have Plenty Of Tread And Hold Air & A Great Shine.

Battery was Relocated To The Trunk To Accommodate Its Size Along with the Newer Radiator And Give The Engine Compartment A Cleaner Look.

Holley HP Mechanical Fuel Pump Was Installed To Replace The Original To Provide Adequate Fuel Pressure With Regulator, Mounted Discretely On Inner Fender Well And Set At 6-PSI (Stock Fuel  Pumps Are Notoriously Under-Powered).  It Feeds a 4bbl Rochester Quadrajet Which Is Missing Choke Mechanism – This Only Affects Cold Starts, Not Drivability.

I Will Continue To Be Candid About The Car’s Condition As Best I Can. I Will Make No Claims About The Car’s Overall Condition Or What Is Definitely Missing Or how it May Vary From Stock Assembly. But As Far As I Can Tell, Car Is Missing The Following (Some of Which I have and Will Include With Sale at No Extra Charge, as Noted):

Radio & Speakers– The Electrician Who Completed The Other Electrical Work On The Car Says That There Is Power Supplying The Radio, But The Radio Is Not Hooked Up To Speakers. I Did Not Buy This Car To Listen To The Radio And The Stock-Looking Radio Remains In The Dash.  The Rear Package Tray Cover Is New And Complete, But Unadulterated. There Are Speaker Ports Underneath If You’d Like To Add Speakers.

Seatbelts & Headrests: The Stock Shoulder Straps Remain And Are Clipped In The Stock Location. I Have Two Seatbelts That Came With The Car, Un-Mounted. You May Choose To Install Them. It Was My Plan To Install 3-Point Retractable Seatbelts.

I Have 2 Headrests That Would Need To Be Painted To Match. These Come With The Car, But I Think It Looks Better Without.

Speedometer Cable: My Mechanic Says One Just Needs To Be Ordered And Installed And That All The Workings At Transmission And Speedometer Are Present And Intact.

Trans-Am Exhaust Tips: I Removed The Trans Am Dual Chrome Tips Because I Prefer The Car Without. They Will Come With The Car So You Can Install Them If You’d Like.

I Am Not A Frequent Buyer Or Seller On Ebay, As You May Observe. I Am Not A Frequent Buyer Or Seller Of Anything. I Bought This Car On Ebay And Am Selling It On Ebay Because Of Its Vast Exposure And Huge Marketplace. This Is Not The Kind Of Car I Expected To Happen Upon Locally And I Expect There Are People All Over The Country Who May Be Interested.

This Car Is Not A Show-Winner, But Is A “Show-Stopper.” It Does Not Just Turn Heads, It Stops Traffic. I Cannot Go Anywhere Without Having A Conversation About This Car. I've Been Hailed-Down, Called-Out And One Gentleman Even Put His Life In My Hands By Walking Out In The Middle Of The Street In Front Of The Car To Stop Me And Talk About It.  Everyone Has a Camaro - Be Unique and Get a Firebird. This Trans-Am Look will Set You Apart and Put You Above The Rest at Local Cruise Night!

Since There Were Only 689 Hard Tops And 8 Convertible Trans Ams Made In 1969, This Car Is Just Not Seen On The Road And People Go Bananas Over It. I’m Always Honest About It Being A Clone, But A Lot Of People Think It’s Just Original, Insisting That The Imperfections And Tiny Cracks In The Fiberglass On The Hood Are Characteristic Of Original GTO And Trans Am Models.

I Am Selling This Car Because It’s Just Too Beautiful For Me – Too Much Of A Collector’s Item. I Have Only Ever Had Hot Rods And I Thought I Could Calm Down And Just Have A Sweet Classic Ride, But I Keep It In The Garage, Don’t Drive It In The Rain And Baby It On The Road, Avoiding Brick Roads, Puddles, And People Who Stare Too Hard At It.  This Car Is For Someone Who Wants To Be Looked At And Envied. If You Want Jealous Neighbors &  Friends And You Want To Be Approached And Revered In Every Parking Lot And Gas Station You Visit … This Car Is For You.

I'm Not One for Secrets. The Reserve Is Set at $15,000 and You Can Buy It Now For $20,000 -- Happy Bidding!!!

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. GM expands headlight recall to 180k Buicks and Pontiacs

Thu, Aug 20 2015

General Motors is issuing an expanded headlight module recall to include 180,504 examples in North America of the 2005 Buick LaCrosse (2008 model year pictured above) and 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Specifically, the campaign affects 159,584 of them in the US and 20,920 in Canada. When the part fails, the vehicles' low beams can stop working either intermittently or permanently. "GM is unable to confirm any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition," the company said in a statement, and there's currently no permanent repair for the problem. For now, dealers will replace the headlamp module with a new example of the same part. The automaker first announced this campaign in November 2014 when it affected 316,357 examples globally of the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse; 2006-2007 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X; and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.
