You are looking at a beautiful 1995 Trans Am with only 31K original miles.

I found this car in the neighbor's garage with 28K miles on it about 5 years ago.  He purchased it for his wife to drive and she did not use it very much. It was completely original and in perfect shape so I bought it.  This is my favorite Trans Am body style and I love having it in the garage to look at.  After buying it I took it to McSwain's Automotive in Rockwall, Tx and had the following installed:

Edelbrock throttle body

AMI mass air sensor

Cold Air intake

Strut Brace

New Chrome Alternator and other little misc. Chrome pieces

Fantastic MagnaFlow exaust with adjustable sound plates

New High performance brake pads with slotted and punched disks (looks really good and stops on a dime!)

Honeycomb tail lights (I have the original slotted tail lights but I happen to like the honeycomb ones better so I ordered them and put them on).

Corvette Chrome rims with BF Goodrich g-Force T/A 50's

This is the car I dreamed of owning when I was fresh out of college and could not afford it, now that I can afford it I built it.  It is real fast and handles like a dream.  Sounds amazing.  More fun to drive than a corvette in my opinion.

So I have kept it under a cover in my garage. I start it up every couple of weeks and bring it to temp and move the tires around.  When the weather is perfect I take it out and drive it around town.  (This car has not seen rain for over 11 years) It turns heads everywhere it goes because it looks almost new!  I took it to a concert at the House of Blues in Dallas and the valet guy parked it right up front with the Mercedes and Ferrari's just because he thought it was so cool.

The interior looks about as new as 18 year old interior can look (with the exception of a few very small scratches and one crack in the dash - see pics)

The exterior is in excellent shape.  If you are familiar with these cars you know that since this is original, there is small spider webbing in the flexible front section ( see pic )

Because I want you to know exactly what you are bidding on, the other small flaws are as follows.  Small scratch behind passenger window (see pic), touched up scratch near gas filler neck (see pic), small scratch on dash from when the main hard plastic dash pad was replaced.

Everything works perfectly.  (even the power antenna!)

So why am I selling it?  My oldest son is about to start driving and I do not want to be tempted to allow a teenager to drive this car.   When I bought it I figured I would have it until it was 30yrs. old, but things change.

I have all the parts (except the exhaust) to return the car to completely original.  I have the rims, original tires that came on the car, original tail light assembly, air sensor, etc.  This is all included in case you want to return it to original when she turns 20 and becomes and antique.

The car is in my garage in Heath, TX if you want to come look at it before bidding.  Feel free to email with any questions.

Finally, I am not interested in talking about Blue Book value.  This is a rare opportunity to own a really cool F-body that is in better shape than any you will see.  I have about $ 20K tied up in the car and I am not trying to get that much out of it but I am not interested in selling it really cheap either.  Just wanted to be up front about that.  Thanks for listening!

Enjoy the pictures and good luck!

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.
