http://blacksburg.craigslist.org/cto/4663707301.html I have for sale my 1969 Pontiac Firebird Coupe. The car has the numbers matching Pontiac 350 in it, which has been gone through and resealed. A long list of tasteful modifications and beneficial restoration work has been completed on the car. The car still has the original floors, which are clean as can be. Everything works as it should, aside from the cigarette lighter. This is a gorgeous car, it needs very little to be perfect. I have a three ring binder that is about 3 to 4 inches thick full of receipts and documentation for the car. I also have a nice stack of plaques and awards for shows. It is really a wonderful car. Below you will find a list of things that are done to the car, this is by no means all inclusive, as many little things have been replaced that aren't noted, things like hardware, gaskets, etc... The things that make the difference between a nice car and a nice "looking" car. There are very few flaws with the car. The console wood could used a refreshening, there are a few minor imperfections in the paint (miniscule, I'm very particular so I feel it is worth noting.). A few of the body lines could be adjusted, but I will be addressing this in the coming weeks. This is truly a NICE example of a 1969 Firebird. Obviously, Firebirds are much more rare than the Camaro counterparts. The car is kept in a garage. She runs beautifully, and has plenty of get-up-and-go! The car is a 1969 Firebird Coupe Black with a very tasteful stripe down the hood and trunk. Pontiac Historical Society Documented. 68,000 Original Miles Original Numbers matching Motor, Pontiac 350 Muncie M20 4 Speed (Originally a 3 speed Column shift Manual, one of 8464) Hurst Shifter Edelbrock Intake Edelbrock 4 Barrel 600CFM carb (originally a 2 barrel) Crane 272-2 New Seals Ram Air III Exhaust Manifolds Dual 2.5 Aluminized Exhaust Piping Flowmaster 40 Series Mufflers (x2) New Radiator 10 Bolt Rear end Eaton Limited Slip 3.08 gears Front Heavy Duty Sway Bar with Poly Bushings Rear Heavy Duty Sway Bar with Poly Bushings All new bushings New Springs Front New Springs Rear New Ball Joints New Tie Rods New Subframe Bushings Subframe Connectors IROC Quick Ratio Steering Box Stainless Steel Brake Lines Disc Brakes Front Conversion (originally nonpower drums) (this was done correctly) Power Brake Conversion (also, done correctly, nothing is out of place_ Stainless Fuel Lines New Seats New Door Panels New Carpet New Dashboard New Headliner New Dash pad New Visors New Wiring Harness for the Entire car Hushmat ExTreme From the Firewall to the rear seat. Destiny: General Motors should bring back Pontiac
Wed, Apr 26 2017Despite having officially left the market in 2010, the Pontiac badge is still a common sight on roadways throughout the United States. Towards the end of its life, Pontiac models were largely rebadged versions of other General Motors vehicles, like the Pontiac G5 and Chevrolet Cobalt. It's sad, but there's no other way to put it; Pontiac was a mere shadow of its former self at the time of its death. Now it's time to revive the legendary brand. General Motors announced it would be reviving the Redline series, a package that originated with Saturn, another dead brand, earlier this year. Some models, like the Chevrolet Camaro will receive unique cosmetic touches designed to make it look even sportier, something Pontiac excelled at in most cases. Gas prices have fallen dramatically in the past few years and consumers have taken notice. Sales of fuel efficient cars, like hybrids and compact sedans, aren't increasing at the same rate as larger, less efficient vehicles, like trucks and SUVs. Muscle cars, like the Ford Mustang, are seeing increasing sales as well. Perhaps it's time to revive Pontiac and restore the marque to its former glory: a brand that brought performance and style at an affordable price. There are currently few manufacturers that offer a true challenge to high-performance automakers like BMW. The German brand continues to see high sales year after year and performance has a lot to do with it. Brand recognition, namely through the BMW badge, plays a major role as well. Pontiac, arguably one of the most well-known brands to ever grace the industry, can match both factors with ease. Pontiac was once revered as a brand that revolutionized the muscle car segment in the 1970s and 1980s. It still has a lively following throughout enthusiast spheres and amongst drivers of all ages to this day. Reviving the brand with a small line of high-performance vehicles would certainly offer a challenge to dominating German brands. A small lineup of affordable vehicles bearing the Pontiac badge and designed for performance and style would certainly make waves in the current market. Reviving a few older nameplates, such as the GTO and Trans Am, would offer nostalgic appeal. Packing both models with a powerful entry-level engine, say the Camaro's turbocharged four-cylinder or V6 engine, would open up the market considerably.
2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Gordon Murray, F1-driven production and .. the Pontiac Fiero
Tue, Oct 31 2017Gordon Murray's design and engineering chops are unquestionable. But does his carmaking approach owe something to the short-lived Pontiac Fiero, a scrappy little car program that emerged from GM against serious resistance? Murray had a Formula One career that ran from 1969 to 1991, with stints at Brabham ('69 to '86) and McLaren ('87-'91), that resulted in several shelves' worth of trophies for the cars he was instrumental in designing. He moved on to McLaren Cars, the consumer side of things, where, during his tenure from 1991 to 2004, he helped design the McLaren F1 and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, two cars that took learnings from his two decades in Formula One. What do all of these cars have in common? Three things: They are light. They were built in limited numbers. And they were (and are) exceedingly expensive—when the McLaren F1 debuted in 1994, it stickered at $815,000. Murray went on to establish Gordon Murray Design in 2007. GMD has created some interesting concept vehicles, such as the diminutive T.25 city car (94.5 inches long, 51.1 inches wide and 55.1 inches high), and the OX, a lightweight truck for the developing world that packs like an IKEA shelf and is working toward realization through a worthy crowdfunding campaign established by the Global Vehicle Trust. Now he has created a vehicle manufacturing company, Gordon Murray Automotive, that will use manufacturing methods that he developed under the moniker "iStream." Unlike a unibody, there are the "iFrame," a cage-like construction made with metallic components, and the "iPanels," which are composite. The panels aren't simply a decorative skin; they actually provide structure to the vehicle. Presumably this has something of the F1 monocoque about it. Going back to the three elements, (1) this arrangement results in a vehicle that can be comparatively light; (2) Murray has indicated that his manufacturing company will be doing limited-run production; and (3) to launch Gordon Murray Automotive they are going to be building a flagship model, about which Murray said, "With our first new car, we will demonstrate a return to the design and engineering principles that have made the McLaren F1 such an icon." Which seems to imply that it will be on the pricey side. According to the company's verbiage, "iStream forges an entirely new production method that defies conventionality with its Formula One-derived construction and materials technologies." It also sounds a whole lot like ...
