1969 Firebird 400 Convertible. The car was recently restored House Of Kolor Silver metallic ..previous owner told me the paint job was 9k ,pictures do the paint no justice...no rust ....its is gorgeous. Interior is new.....new seats, carpet, dash etc.. The top is new and looks great. I had a Custom Autosound stereo professionally installed with all the modern upgrades...USB, auxiliray inputs....AM/FM. ....amp in the trunck.....2 kick panel speakers with a Kenwood slim line powered subwoofer under the front seat and it sounds way better than I thought it would. I recently added a Rally guage pkg which includes a factory style tach and a Trans Am style gauge cluster. The car drives straight and runs great down the road....no vibrations or shakes. I do have PHS doc showing the car was a 350 car....not an original 400.It is a factory AC car and it does blow hard and ice cold. Power steering-power brake car The motor is a period correct 400 according to the head cast numbers. It does have headers but is not loud....sounds nice .Purchased Year One Rally Wheels.....17x9 rear....17x8 front...tires are about 6 months old. We do used the car....would drive it anywhere and we do. I am sure I have missed something so dont hesitate to ask questions. 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land

Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes Â– is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
