1986 Pontiac Fiero Gt. Great Condition. Ready For Summer Cruising. on 2040-cars
Grand Blanc, Michigan, United States

I have a very clean 1986 Fiero GT that is a great driver and fun to drive. I bought the car 4 years ago and have only put less than 500 miles on it. When I bought the car I fixed everything that needed fixing including, new paint, new dew strips, and new head liner. The car sat quite sometime before I bought it, so I had the brakes gone thru, oil change, tune-up etc.We have not been able to drive it as much as I would have liked to and it has pretty much sat in heated storage for the last 3 years. When I got it out this year, It had no spark, so I rebuilt the distributor with new coil, module, cap and rotor. She purrs like a kitten again. The car drives and sounds great. There are 2 things that need to be fixed on the car. Number one is, the windshield wiper switch is flakey. Every once in a while when you turn on thr turn signal the wipers will stroke one time. I could'nt find a new switch locally. Since I never drive my toys in the rain, I wired a inline switch to just shut them off. I did not cut any wires. It is just plugged into the fuse block so it can be undone in less than 2 minutes. The wipers work fine when the switch is on. The second thing is the driver seat bolster has worn thru (see picture) . the rest of the interior looks great. Oh, one more thing. there is some a small spot of stickum on the dash where somebody had a radar detector or something stuck to the dash. The radio is not stock but sounds great and has a CD player. I don't know of anything else that needs attention. I believe the car is ready to drive anywhere. That being said it is 28 years old and is being sold as is. There is no warranty or guarantee what so ever.I am selling it because we are looking at retiring out of state and all of the toys must go. Tires are not new but have plenty of tread. Also car has a alarm system. You can see the key pad in one of the pictures. A $500.00 deposit is required within 48 hours and balance can be paid in cash at time of pick-up. Good luck and happy bidding.

Junkyard Gem: 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible
Sun, Jan 8 2023GM's Pontiac Division sold its first convertibles during the 1927 model year (just a year after the division's creation), then proceeded to offer memorable drop-tops for most of the following 83 years. The best-selling convertible to bear Pontiac badges during our current century was the retractable-hardtop-equipped G6, available from the G6's introduction in 2006 through the second-to-last model year of 2009 (the Sunfire convertible was available just through 2000, while the Firebird convertible vanished with the demise of the slow-selling Firebird itself after 2002). Here's one of those G6 GT convertibles, found in a Denver-region boneyard after a crash ended its driving career. Mashed right front, popped airbags. This sort of damage might have been worth repairing in 2009, but not today. The 2007 G6 was available as a coupe, sedan, or convertible. All the convertibles had the GT trim level and the 3.5-liter V6 and its 224 horsepower. The MSRP on this car was $28,750 (about $42,325 in 2022 dollars), making it the most expensive G6. The power hardtop roof folded up into the trunk, leaving 1.8 cubic feet of trunk storage space with the top down. This Karmann-designed roof system made the interior much quieter than that of a traditional soft-top convertible. All G6s were built at Orion Assembly in Michigan, where Chevy Bolts are born today. The G6 was built through the 2010 model year, making it one of the very last Pontiac models (the Vibe also made it to 2010, though it was really a Toyota Matrix). In hindsight, 2007 turned out to be an ominous year for GM.Â
Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Sunfire coupe
Thu, Feb 21 2019In a few months, we'll reach the tenth anniversary of GM's axing of the venerable Pontiac brand. G6s, Vibes, and Matizes continued to be built until 2010, but I'm noticing a marked decrease in discarded Pontiacs lately, as I perform my junkyardy rituals. Here's a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire, photographed in a Colorado wrecking yard. The Sunfire was the near-identical sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier, based on the long-running (1982-2005) J-Body platform. It was cheap and simple, looked pretty sporty (at least in coupe form), and every parts store in North America carried just about everything you'd need to keep one running. This coupe had to compete for sales not only with a vast and menacing array of imports but with GM's own Saturn SC2 (not to mention the Cavalier itself). Meanwhile, the J platform was showing its age more with each passing year. This car sports what must have been the complete line of Fatal Clothing bomber-nose-art/skate-punk/gang-tag-influenced decals, circa 2010. I actually photographed this car back in 2011, then misplaced the image files until last week. The stickers are very California-centric for a Colorado car, but then plenty of Californians — including me— move here. When you know you're a car's final owner, it's a lot easier to whip out the paint pens and redecorate the interior. Power came from the engine GM developed for the very first J-Bodies: the 2.2-liter 122 pushrod four-cylinder. 2002 was the last model year for 122-powered Sunfires and Cavaliers; the most affordable S-10/Sonoma/Hombre trucks got this engine through 2003. It even came with a remote, so bad Midwestern farmgirls could make quick getaways when caught in the act by enraged broom-wielding mothers. Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.
