This is a NO RESERVE listing.

This is my 1993 Pontiac Sunbird SE Convertible with only 89,304 miles.  I believe this is the best-condition Sunbird convertible you will find for sale anywhere- this car is likely the nicest one remaining.

While this isn't necessarily a 1963 split-window Corvette, the condition of this Sunbird makes this an astonishing find.  It is hard to believe that one of these cars has survived in this condition.

This is a totally reliable, dependable, fun car that you can use and enjoy immediately.

I have all the original books and manuals as well as the original window sticker showing the purchase price of $19,148 new.

This Sunbird has the following equipment:
  • 3.1L V6 engine
  • automatic transmission
  • power convertible top
  • power locks and windows
  • A/C
  • aluminum wheels
  • ABS brakes
This Sunbird convertible is truly exceptional.  I don't know where you could find a cleaner, better-kept example.  This car is totally original, with all original paint, original interior and it is in outstandingly well kept, time-capsule condition.

This car has never been driven in winter and it has never been exposed to salt or snow.  It has no body rust.  Even the painted aluminum wheels are in very, very good condition.  This car is impossibly clean- it is in beautiful, original condition everywhere.  If someone told you this car had 5000 miles, you'd believe it.

The interior is in very good shape, with little to no wear showing.  The carpets, upholstery and interior surfaces are extraordinarily clean.

Even all of the switches and buttons are still tight and operate as though they were new.  This entire car appears to have time-traveled from 1993 to present day.  It is outstanding.

This Sunbird runs and drives perfectly.  The engine is smooth and strong and the transmission shifts perfectly.  The suspension, brakes and steering are tight and working great.  The power top works perfectly and the convertible top itself is in very good condition.  This car has zero known mechanical problems.

This was a summer car only.  It was taken out on nice days and enjoyed, and always garaged in inclement weather.

This car is kept in my garage in Willoughby, OH.

To be truly picky, the only faults I can find on the car are that the driver's power window is exceptionally slow and requires help.  Also the air conditioning isn't cold- it is the old-style R12 refrigerant and it need to be updated to the new R134a refrigerant and charged.

This car drives beautifully and I see no reason you couldn't drive this car anywhere.  You can fly in to Cleveland (CLE) and drive home.  Alternatively you could have the car shipped, please call Angels Moving Autos at 530 245 0481 for a shipping quote.

Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.

GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns

Sun, 05 Oct 2014

Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.

Classic Pontiac Trans Am Firebird Super Duty 455 sells for nearly $90,000

Fri, Aug 25 2023

Historically, the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am raised the performance levels a notch or two over a plain Firebird in the muscle car hierarchy of the Sixties. But the Super Duty 455 version of the Trans Am — that number represents the cubic inches of the hand-assembled V8 engine — moved the performance needle big time in 1974. So much so that a clean example of the machine sold recently on the Hagerty Marketplace auction site for $89,296. Advertised with just under 54,000 miles on the clock and having undergone a thorough restoration, the Buccaneer Red model was one of just 943 Pontiac Firebirds equipped with the Super Duty 455 package for the 1974 model year. That build had also been offered in 1973. The Hagerty listing drew more than 21,000 views and 39 bids. According to Hagerty's valuation report, a similar car would be worth $85,700 in good condition, and $103,000 if it was in ‘“concours condition.” The Super Duty motor borrowed technology from the lineÂ’s 366-cubic-inch NASCAR engine, and featured heavy-duty connecting rods and an entirely new block with a revised crankshaft and heads to deliver a claimed 310 horsepower. The Firebird that sold was indeed loaded, with a three-speed Hydra-matic transmission (which surely reduced its overall value), power locks and windows, AC, dual exhausts, heavy duty stabilizer bars all around, and a “custom Interior trimmed in Red perforated Morrokide vinyl upholstery.” The entry of PontiacÂ’s pony car in the U.S., facing off against the Mustang and Camaro, dates back to 1967, when it was offered with an inline six and optional V8. The first Trans Ams were introduced two years later, the name derived from a handling package. General Motors ceased production of new Pontiacs in 2002 owing to declining sales and losing stakes in the sports coupe market. The big 455-cid V-8 had disappeared years earlier.
