Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer possibly the nicest 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix Available anywhere! 1974 was the Last model year of regular leaded fuel, and NO catalytic converters!!! This one is equipped with the Pontiac 400 4 Barrel V8 with a Turbo Hydramatic 400 transmission, and straight dual exhaust!!! It is nicely equipped with Factory A/C, Power Windows, Power Trunk Release, and an AM/ FM Radio. Buckets and a console make it that much more desirable!!! Pontiac lovers everywhere get weak in the knees when one like this becomes available. A One family owned, always serviced Grand Prix that was apparently treated like one of the family! Examples like this one are unheard of!
This 1974 Pontiac Grand Prix was purchased on August 7, 1974 at Jack Roley Pontiac in Belle Vernon, Pa. It has spent it's entire life in the area, always garaged and pampered by it's original owners in Charleroi, Pa. Purchased as a gift for his loving wife to drive the short distances to the grocery store and church on Sunday. After He passed, it basically was retired to the garage where I found it. It had been sitting, unused since 2001. There are many detailed photos below, along with the last state safety inspection invoice dated December 12, 2001 with 34,936 miles. It had only been driven TWO(2) miles since the previous years inspection in 2000. I have many many years of past invoices documenting the low low mileage that will accompany the car, along with it's original license plate(photo below). We also have all of the owners books, AND the factory issued window sticker listing the many options!
Since awakening, we have replaced the battery, and changed the oil and oil filter(Brad Penn with Zinc). The air filter is also new, along with all 8 A/C spark plugs. We also replaced the radiator, upper and lower hoses, and all three fan belts. The tires were new sometime in 2001, and are a tad on the lumpy side. As I drive the car, they seem to be improving. Replacement is recommended for long distance driving.
This Gorgeous 1974 Grand Prix runs and drives fantastic. I have put close to 100 miles on it. It shifts nice and smooth, and there are no shakes, vibrations, or unpleasant noises!! The A/C blows nice and cold, and is still charged with R12. The front radio speaker is dead, but the rear sounds great. Everything else works as it did in 1974. The Colonial Gold paint is 90% original, as is the Black interior. Chrome and brightwork is gorgeous with no pitting anywhere. There is one small rust blister on the bottom of the passenger front fender. Underneath is as nice as above, with no rust or rot anywhere!!
Remember....They are original only Once!!!
Take a look at the 50 plus photographs below and see the actual pristine condition of this One of A Kind Pontiac Grand Prix.
By bidding you agree to all terms set forth below.
Many Thanks for Your Interest! Good Luck with Your Bidding!! |

A 1978 Pontiac Trans Am once owned by Burt Reynolds as a memento of the car he drove in the film “Smokey and the Bandit” will be among nearly 150 muscle cars and luxury vehicles seized from the alleged perpetrators of an $800 million investment scheme that will hit the auction block this weekend in California. ItÂ’s said to be the largest single-owner car collection ever auctioned by the U.S. Marshals, seized late last year from Jeff and Paulette Carpoff, the founders of the now-defunct mobile solar generators company DC Solar. Two employees of the San Francisco Bay Area solar energy company, certified public accountant Ronald Roach, 53, and general contractor Joseph Bayliss, 44, both of the Bay Area. pleaded guilty Tuesday to participating in what federal prosecutors say was a massive scheme that defrauded investors of $1 billion. Both men agreed to cooperate in the ongoing investigation. While the Carpoffs, the company's owners, have not been charged, they agreed to let the government auction their collection of 150 classic, performance and luxury vehicles, including the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am once owned by Burt Reynolds. The replica of the car the late actor drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and the other vehicles are to be auctioned Saturday, with online bidding already pushing the accumulated value past $5.5 million. Bidding on that Trans Am alone had topped $65,000 by late Tuesday. The auction company said it had been driven less than 3,400 miles. It's the largest single-owner car collection ever auctioned by the U.S. Marshals Service. Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Lasha Boyden of the Sacramento office called it "a stunning collection of vehicles" that also includes 1990s Humvees, 1960s-era Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros from several decades, plus older cars including a 1939 Buick Roadmaster, a 1951 Chevy Thriftmaster 3100 pickup truck and a 1941 Plymouth Special Delux with wooden doors and trim. “It is rare for the U.S. Marshals to hold an auction of such a stunning collection of vehicles,” Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Lasha Boyden in Sacramento said in a statement. ReynoldsÂ’ former Trans Am is a hardtop memento of the version he drove in the 1977 action comedy. It bears Bandit Run logos in the rear window and upper windshield and appears to have modified suspension components and bucket seats. It comes with a Florida registration with ReynoldsÂ’ name on it, and an autograph on the glove box that reads, “Be Safe!

During the late 1960s, General Motors ruled the American car landscape, growing so dominant that the federal government considered antitrust action to break up the company. The General offered sporty Corvettes and muscular GTOs and rugged pickups and opulent Fleetwoods, sure, but the fat part of the sales numbers came from the bread-and-butter full-sized sedans and coupes, which boasted superior engineering and modern-looking styling; in 1967 alone, the Chevrolet Division moved 972,600 full-sized cars, and that's not even counting the 155,100 full-sized Chevy station wagons that year. Pontiac, Buick and Oldsmobile sold the same big cars with division-specific engines and bodywork, and they flew off the showroom floors. For 1968, the entry-level full-sized car from Pontiac was the Catalina, and I've found an example of the most affordable version of the most affordable big Pontiac for 1968, discarded in a northeastern Colorado wrecking yard about 50 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming. A '68 GM full-sized coupe, convertible, or even a four-door hardtop might be worth the cost and effort of a restoration, but a no-options base-trim-level post sedan with rust and plenty of body filler just won't get many takers these days. Like so many vehicles that sit outside for decades on the High Plains, this one is full of rodent nests. I wouldn't want to work on the interior of this car without a respirator and a lot of work with a shop-vac, because hantavirus is a significant danger in these parts. Alfred Sloan's plan to offer a stepladder of prestige for GM buyers, in which your first new car was a Chevrolet and you moved up through Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Buick until you became sufficiently prosperous for Cadillac ownership, worked brilliantly for decades. In 1968, the Catalina was a notch above its Impala sibling on the Snob-O-Meter, with the sedan starting at $3,004 (about $22,600 in 2019 dollars). In fact, the V8-equipped 1968 Chevrolet Impala sedan listed at $3,033, and the Oldsmobile Delmont 88 went for $3,146, so the lines were beginning to blur between the relative positions of the lower-end GM divisions by this time. The base engine in the 1968 Catalina was a 400-cubic-inch (6.5 liter) V8 rated at 265 horsepower and enough torque to tow an aircraft carrier.

Radwood has sparked a revival in the appreciation of goofy 1980s and 1980s automotive fashions, from neon-colored tape stripes to excessive TURBO badging to ads featuring horrifying Nagel-style women with radio faceplates instead of eyes. I see a lot of discarded cars that would have been ideal to bring to Radwood, and today's Junkyard Gem is even radder than, say, a purple Mercury Tracer Trio or a teal Chevy Beretta GT or even the elusive Dodge Daytona IROC R/T (yes, there were IROC Daytonas): a genuine Pontiac Sunbird SE convertible with the W25 Appearance Package and Bright White Star wheels. The W25 package got you a white Sunbird with kicky script badging, white wheels, and — if you opted for the optional 3.1-liter V6 — these candy-cane-influenced red-and-white displacement badges on the fenders. Now this is rad! The white interior got dirty fast, especially if the owner left the convertible top down, and these wheels were tough to keep clean for more than a few hours. This one appears to have spent many years sitting abandoned with the top down, judging by the completely trashed interior. The base engine for 1992 was the good old Cavalier four-banger, complete with 111 horsepower. This 3.1-liter engine made a respectable-for-1992 140 horses, for plenty of torque-steery, tire-squealy fun. As a J-Body car, the Sunbird was a sibling to the Chevrolet Cavalier in 1992 (the J-based Cadillac Cimarron, Oldsmobile Firenza, and Buick Skyhawk departed before the end of the 1980s). Starting in 1994, the Pontiac Sunfire replaced the Sunbird, continuing in production all the way through the demise of the J platform in 2005. This content is hosted by a third party.
