Hello and thank you for looking at my auction.

Up for sale today is a very clean 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Sedan.  This Grand Prix is in great condition and has just PASSED MARYLAND INSPECTION.  As you can see, this is a nice vehicle.  It is finished in  Silver and the paint on this Grand Prix looks pretty good.  Of course being a 14 year old vehicle there are many blemishes but no dents.  Also the paint has faded on the spoiler but the car looks good overall.  All of the body lines are smooth and even (lower molding missing on right rear door).  All of the glass and lenses are intact.  The alloy wheels show very well and are wrapped in a set of Coopers on the front and Goodyear on the rear, with over 50% tread remaining.  Please take your time and review each of the photos carefully.

The interior of this Grand Prix is in good condition.  The Blue interior compliments well with the Silver exterior and shows well.  The dash is clean and has no faded spots or excessive wear.  The carpets show well throughout the interior.  The door panels are clean and intact.  The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly.  The air condition was just serviced and works well and the radio and speakers also work well. The seats are clean and comfortable and the trunk is also clean and well kept.  This Grand Prix comes with one set of keys without remote.

Mechanically this Grand Prix is in great running and driving condition.  The engine starts easy and runs smooth.  There are no leaks and the engine does not smoke.  The suspension is nice and tight as it should be.  The steering feels neutral and responsive.  The brakes are strong and stop this Grand Prix with no problems.  The engine keeps proper temperature and oil pressure at all times.  There have been no warning lights on.  She drives down the road confidently and feels solid.  The engine makes good power.  The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts as it should.  Out on the highway this Grand Prix cruises effortlessly.  She goes straight down the road with no complaints and can be driven with ease.  Pride in ownership shows throughout this vehicle.  Please take the time to read this entire description.  This vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability.  Car can be viewed anytime, just send me a message to set up appointment.

This vehicle had tie rods, wipers and a few lights changed to pass inspection and also had A/C serviced, right front window regulator replaced and a new hood strut installed.

Buying a vehicle over the internet can be scary so I take many actions to make you feel secure with your purchase:

1. I take the time/effort and spend the money to get my vehicles through Maryland safety inspection. Maryland has one of the toughest safety inspections in the country so if a vehicle passes Maryland safety inspection "I believe" it will pass any states safety inspection.

2. I give a very detailed report of the vehicle Interior / Exterior / Mechanical condition. I have a mechanical background, "but I am not a car mechanic". I have been buying and selling cars for over 25 years so I know a lot about cars. I am as honest and accurate as possible about vehicles that I sell. You can always ask me questions about vehicles that I am selling or arrange to come see the vehicle before bidding.

3. I upload over 20 pictures of every vehicle and will try my best to send you any specific pictures that you ask for.

4. My vehicles are usually priced around KBB.com private party values, which are much lower than the retail values that most dealers charge for vehicles on their car lot (but higher than the junk cars they sell on EBay that need a lot of work).   My profit margin is very low because of the time and money I put into reconditioning each vehicle and getting it through Maryland inspection. You always get a great deal and a car you can trust.

BEWARE OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT INSPECTED!!! Many people think they are getting a great deal on vehicles they buy on EBay for inexpensive prices only to find out when they take it through inspection that it needs thousands of dollars worth of work. I usually spend over a thousand dollars and put in hours of work on each vehicle to get it ready to pass Maryland inspection.

My vehicles are also for sale locally and auction may be ended early in accordance with Ebay policies.

A $149 DEALER DOCUMENT FEE WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL SALES (INCLUDING BEST OFFERS) AND INCLUDES A TEMPORARY TAG IF NEEDED (proof of insurance and all information for title/registration is needed 24 hours before temporary tag can be issued).

A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required within 24 hours of auction close.  Remaining balance is required within 7 days of auction close by Cash in Person or Certified Bank Funds (PayPal will not be accepted for balance).  Title and vehicle will not be released until ALL funds have cleared.  Buyer must contact seller to make arrangements for vehicle pick-up within 48 hours of auction close and pick-up vehicle within 7 days.  Vehicles not picked up within 7 days will be charged a $10/day storage charge unless prior arrangements have been made.

Thanks for looking and good luck biding.

German prosecutors have recorded calls between VW bigwigs talking dieselgate

Thu, Mar 21 2019

It's barely possible to believe how poorly Volkswagen continues to handle dieselgate. Depending on which day you catch the news, the German carmaker embodies the corporate venality of "Michael Clayton," the comic blundering of the Coen Brothers' "Burn After Reading," and the every-man-for-himself vengeance of "Reservoir Dogs." Today is Tarantino day, with news that German prosecutors have recordings of phone calls between former Audi and Porsche development boss Wolfgang Hatz, ex-Volkswagen Group executive Matthias Muller, and current Porsche executives Oliver Blume and Michael Steiner. Hatz made the calls to the trio in November 2015, two months after Volkswagen admitted its diesel-particulate sins to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Hatz was still employed at the time, and in his company car. Who recorded the calls? His wife. Hatz and his missus apparently saw the storm coming and started stacking defenses early. Hatz's wife, who can be heard encouraging Hatz during at least one call, sent the recordings to Hatz's attorney from her mobile phone. According to a Google translation of the German newspaper Handelsblatt's report, she included the note, "Here is a very long, but quite informative conversation on the current situation with useful formulations." The report in Handelsblatt said that in Germany it is generally "not allowed" to record a conversation and pass it on to a third party. We don't know how the authorities will handle this matter, since prosecutors found the recordings in e-mail attachments on Mrs. Hatz's mobile phone. Remember, when the diesel scandal broke, VW spent months saying that only a small number of low-level personnel were behind it, and all of the higher-ups had been blindsided. Ex-CEO Martin Winterkorn claimed to be "stunned that misconduct on such a scale was possible in the Volkswagen Group." Winterkorn successor Matthias Muller said, "according to current information, a few developers interfered in the engine management." Former VW USA honcho Michael Horn told a congressional committee that "a couple of software engineers" programmed the software for reasons no one could understand. In the recorded conversations, Hatz apparently called Muller to find out how VW planned to treat him.

World's only 1964 Pontiac XP-833 Banshee coupe for sale by Kia dealer

Mon, Apr 20 2020

It seems like there has been a spate of especially odd car sales in the first part of this especially odd year, from the numerous barn finds and homebrew specials to the time capsule cars — like the BMW wrapped in a protective bubble for 23 years. Napoli Kia in Milford, Connecticut, brings us another, via Motor1. Len Napoli is the dealership principal and die-hard Pontiac maven; his father opened Napoli Pontiac in 1958, and Len held onto the franchise until the early 2000s, just before GM shuttered the brand that built excitement. Napoli got hold of the 1964 Pontiac Banshee XP-833 coupe concept, and put the car up for sale through his Kia dealership for $750,000. The exceptional price comes from the fact that Pontiac built two Banshee concepts in 1964, one this silver coupe with a red interior, the other a white roadster, making each concept a one-of-one collector car.      Motor Trend wrote a detailed piece on this one in 2013, the editorial tour hosted by Bill Collins, the Banshee's lead engineer. The short story is that GM exec John Z. DeLorean — yes, him —  gave approval to a small crew at Pontiac to create a two-seater sports car to compete with the Mustang, because GM had nothing to fend off the four-seat coupe that would sell one million units in just 18 months on the market. Collins and his team took inspiration from the 1963 Corvair Monza GT concept, working up a fiberglass body over a steel frame, with a 230-cubic-inch overhead-cam straight-six producing 165 horsepower and 216 pound-feet of torque, a four-speed manual transmission, and 9.5-inch drum brakes at all corners. The idea was that the XP-833 would be "an affordable and fun two-seat sports car," the concept demonstrating the base-model price leader offering a lengthy list of options for those who wanted more. The white roadster, in fact, fitted a 326 cubic-inch V8 under the hood. Rumor says that Chevrolet execs didn't like having another two-seater sports car in the GM fold, especially one with a fiberglass body that held weight down to 2,200 pounds. GM execs took one look at the two concepts in 1965 and shut the project down. The two XP-833s lived in a garage for years, Collins and his colleague Bill Killen getting permission to buy the cars from GM in 1973 before Collins left to help engineer the DeLorean DMC-12. It wasn't until just before Collins departed that the XP-333 got the name Banshee.

Jay Leno tries out a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge that looks factory fresh

Tue, Jan 31 2017

The latest machine to show up on Jay Leno's Garage is arguably the most iconic Pontiac GTO, the 1970 Judge. The example here is a radically red model and features all of the nifty Judge features, such as the mega-size rear wing, hood-mounted tachometer, and ram air hood scoop. The latter of which had a panel in the hood that would open up at full throttle to let in all that cool air from outside. The car is owned by the Wade Kawasaki, president of Coker Tires, a company that specializes in reproducing classic tires. Not surprisingly, his GTO features a set of the company's Firestone Wide Oval tires. That particular tire would have come with the car originally, but these new versions are built like modern radial tires, rather than the slippery bias-ply originals. The tires are indicative of how Kawasaki restored the rest of his Judge. Everything has been taken back to factory-spec. It has a stock, 400-cubic inch V8 that makes a supposedly underrated 366 horsepower, and it's complete with the chrome valve covers and foam intake seal. The tires are accompanied by exact replica GTO Judge wheels. The car even has the true, original interior. Somehow, the upholstery, dash, and other interior components survived in excellent condition. Check out the video above for more details on this flashy muscle car, as well as some reminiscing about the "good ol' days," and some history on the origins of the car's name. Related Video:
