1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Gtp Coupe 2-door 3.8l on 2040-cars
Mount Vernon, New York, United States
Hello, thanks for looking at the 1998 Grand Prix GTP coupe I am listing. I am selling this vehicle for my father, and if you have any questions he is more than willing to answer them! First off, all the great things about this car - It is low mileage at just 124k miles. Clean and clear title. Recently driven from Oregon to New York where the car is currently located. Averaged 29mpg on that trip! It has new front tires with less than 1k miles on them, recharged AC system that blows very cold, and a brand new radiator less than a month old that comes with a 12 month warranty. Spark plugs, wires and ignition coils replaced 10k miles ago as well as all new hoses. Front brake pads replaced then as well. Very nice aftermarket tail lights. Nice comfortable Cloth interior, Sony CD player. All windows are clear, rear and side windows are tinted. Glossy black paint that shines up very nice after a wash. It's not perfect, but it's very nice! Car cruises at about 1900rpm at 70mph. The 3.8L Supercharged V6 is a very solid reliable and powerful engine! If you put your foot down it pulls hard and the supercharger provides that infamous whine. Custom K&N intake to really help the engine breathe. Exhaust has a nice low rumble at idle and purrs while cruising. Passed smog in CA and is registered until September 2014. Interior is black and gray. Seats could use a cleaning, but overall they are in good condition. Power windows, locks, cruise control all work perfectly. This car is equipped with the digital car info system and boost gauge and it works great. Driver seat is power with lumbar support. As far as any defects, the dash cover is cracked in the usual spot and the driver side door speaker is intermittent (comes with replacement speakers). That's pretty much it! This is a car that has been babied by my Father and he hates to part with it. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipment if required. Reserve is set at $3,250, please verify you have funds before bidding. Cashiers check or personal check after it clears are the accepted forms of payment. Thanks for looking! |

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later
Fri, 12 Sep 2014
Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
