Hello! Thanks for looking at my 2006 Brazen Orange Metallic Pontiac GTO, up for Auction! I have been the only owner since new. I picked it up from Jack Giambalvo Pontiac (now Giambalvo Buick/GMC) in York, PA, back in June, 2006. This car has been garage kept since new and has 56,541 miles on it. If my math is close, I've driven a tad over 7,000 miles per year. I'm just gonna be straight up with the "PRO'S and CON'S" of this vehicle, so, no one is disappointed when they come to pick it up. The only reason I want to sell it, is because I just started financing a 2014 Jeep Rubicon last week.
CON'S: 1. Slight drippage from the Ron Davis aluminum radiator. (not enough where you have to add coolant, but, it should be repaired since it is a $750 radiator) It leaves 1 or 2 quarter sized spots in the garage sometimes. Like, when I get home from work sometimes (a 10 mile drive). 2. The stitching on one corner of both back seats has come undone due to exposure to sunlight. (this is a common GTO issue and is a cheap fix at any decent auto upholstery shop) 3. The 19" RUFF Racing wheels are in bad shape. they would look fresh if powder coated, or something similar. Let's put it this way: They have been through a few winters here in Pennsylvania. They look nice from a distance, when cleaned up (as you can see in the pics), but, up close, you can tell they are "weathered". (I do have the stock rims. They will be included if you want them.) 4. The "Volume Up" button is broken on the right side of the steering wheel. Once again, a very cheap fix. There is an aftermarket stereo in there anyway where the audio buttons on the steering wheel don't function. (I do have the factory head unit available as well: a Blaupunkt in-dash CD changer/player) 5. The factory shift knob has slight wear on the leather part of it. 6. The Passenger Side Headlight is starting to show small signs of "haze" in the upper left hand corner. 7. The Brakes cause a bit of a shake every once in a while. The factory rotors are still on there. They should be turned or replaced soon. 8. The Trunk Light keeps shorting out. 9. The suspension is rough going over bumps. It has been that way since Day 1. Coil overs were in the near future for this GTO and would be a good idea, eventually. 10. A Few Dents and Scratches no bigger than a Quarter. 11. The A/C does not blow cold air. It probably just needs a recharge. I barely ever used the A/C in this vehicle. PRO'S: 1. The Engine is ALL STOCK and has absolutely Zero issues! No mods whatsoever. I will list everything I replaced on the car below. 2. The Water Pump was replaced last year and has a lifetime warranty (not sure if the warranty is still valid once the car changes owners) 3. The Front Radius Rod Bushings were replaced with Whiteline adjustable ones. (This is considered one of the first things that should be done to these vehicles.) 4. Full Interior LED light conversion in Green to match the factory dash lighting. The only bulbs that aren't Green, are the 2 overhead map lights, they have "Cool White" bulbs. 5. Amber LED Fog Lights 6. "Cool White" LED License Plate bulbs 7. Silver Star Headlamp bulbs 8. Silver Star Front Turn Signal bulbs 9. Pioneer AVH-P3300BT CD/DVD Player with Auxilary Jack, front USB port, Bluetooth, compatible with Apple products (Rear Cam & Nav Ready...not installed though) 10. Front Dash Tweeters were replaced with Earthquake Tweeters 11. Rear Deck 6 inch "Woofers" were replaced with Earthquake 6 inch Woofers. 12. 19" RUFF Racing Rims (Staggered). 13. General G Max Tires (255/35/19 in the Rear, 245/35/19 in the Front) All 4 tires have plenty of tread on them and will pass inspection, no question. There was a proper 4 Wheel Alignment done when the Front Tires were replaced, last September. 14. Custom, Metal, Body Color Floor Mat Hold-Downs 15. Pedders 1" Drop Springs in the Front Only. I think that is all. Hit me up with any questions you have. I will respond ASAP. Thanks Again, Good Luck Bidding! -madmaxzombie |

Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale
Fri, Dec 5 2014Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.
This massive 'Knight Rider' KITT model costs over $1,400
Tue, May 18 2021A new model of the famed Pontiac Firebird from the 1980s TV show Knight Rider is here, and it's massive. The shadowy flight into the dangerous world of this subscription-based kit by DeAgostini will result in a car that measures nearly two feet long, cost more than $1,400, and take you over two years to complete. For years, subscription-based model kits have been a tradition for hobbyists in Europe and Asia. Should you sign on, each week you'll receive a package in the mail that includes a few parts for the model and some literature on the subject. Usually there are additional collectibles and accessories, like a display case. The DeAgostini KITT kit, for example, begins with the hood for the first issue. The asymmetric bulged and scooped body panel comes with a several smaller body pieces and a small screwdriver. Issue two comes with the front fascia, KITT's red scanner light, and three of the six driving lights. Issue three gives you a tire, wheel and brake components for one of the four corners. And so it goes. When all is said and done, you'll receive 110 such packages over a span of so many weeks. In other words it'll take two years and one-and-a-half months to complete the black, 1:8 scale Pontiac. There are some discounted prices for the first few issues to get you hooked, but once you get settled in the regular price for each issue is ˆ10.99 ($13.36 USD). Here's a preview the 16-page pamphlet that accompanies the first issue. By the end, you should have a pretty comprehensive compendium of the Knight Rider series as well. The issues are available on newsstands, but subscribers get additional gifts — two 1:43 scale models, one of KITT and one of his nemesis KARR. And for an additional ˆ1.00 per issue, you'll receive an acrylic display case. As for the Knight Industries Two Thousand itself, the car appears to be incredibly detailed. As depicted on the DeAgostini website, the hood, doors, trunk and T-top roof panels all open. The red scanner lights up, the rear license plate rotates for three options, and there even seems to be a watch that commands the model to speak some of KITT's catch phrases. Knight Rider — or Supercar as it was called in Italy — told the episodic story of a former police officer, Michael Knight, who fought crime with his A.I.-powered car. As such, the TV car and the the model have a heavily computerized (by 1980s standards) dashboard and yoke steering wheel.
Even Ferrari swept up in latest Takata recall expansion
Fri, May 27 2016The scope of Takata's deadly airbag problems continues to widen. Eight manufacturers announced recalls Friday that affect more than 12 million vehicles, according to documents filed with federal regulators. The automakers include Honda, which is recalling 4.5 million units, Fiat Chrysler with 4.3 million, Toyota with 1.65 million, and Subaru, which is recalling almost 400,000. Some of these cars include the Saab 9-2x and Pontiac Vibe that Toyota and Subaru made for General Motors. Mazda will recall 730,000 vehicles and Nissan has 400,000 affected units. The smallest numbers were posted by Mitsubishi, with 38,000 Lancers manufactured from 2006 to 2007, and as a noteworthy high-end manufacturer, Ferrari is calling back 2,800 vehicles. These are all US-market cars. Beyond America, the Japanese Transport Ministry has announced seven million additional vehicles will be recalled, which means 19.6 million vehicles across the globe are affected by recalls announced. The defects have been traced to an insufficiently manufactured airbag inflator, which lacks a drying agent that would prevent the inflators from deteriorating over time. Thirteen deaths have been linked to the faulty airbags, which have become unstable and are prone to exploding and showering vehicle occupants with lethal amounts of metal shrapnel. A private equity firm, KKR & Co., has been named in a possible buyout of the struggling Takata.
