______________________________________________________________________

This beautiful goat just had a six figure rotisserie restoration done to the highest standards.

NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED!!!

Every part on this car was either restored, repaired or replaced with the highest quality replacement and OEM parts. The restoration took about one year to complete. The car now has approximately 200 miles on the complete restoration. The whole process was documented and I have over 1,000 pictures.

We started with a real 242 GTO convertible with 128,000 miles on the original drive-train. This car has had two owners prior to me. The first owner had the car for about six months. The second owner had the car for 42 years until I purchased it from them. I have some of the original documentation including the original build sheet.

The car was completely disassembled and media blasted right down to a bare shell. The frame was also media blasted and painted. All new suspension and brake components were put on the frame and we started doing the body restoration. Just the paint and body work was over $35,000 between parts and labor. We used genuine GM Goodmark metal. The paint job consists over three coats of base-coat and another three coats of clear.

This car boasts the original numbers matching 400/TURBO 400 drive-train. The motor, transmission and rear-end were all rebuilt. The motor was built to RAM AIR THREE specifications with a fully functioning Ram Air Three Kit. The motor was broken in properly on a dyno.

The rest of the restoration was also done to the highest quality standards. I can send you more pictures of the entire process if you wish.

Please contact me if you have any questions. I would encourage you to get an inspection done or arrange to come and see the car in person if you can.

This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle is no longer available for sale. Auctions are serious business. A non-refundable $2,000 deposit can be made by PayPal. FULL PAYMENT MUST BE MADE WITHIN SEVEN DAYS BY BANK WIRE TRANSFER ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS!! Please only bid if you intend on completing the transaction. The car is for sale as is where it is. I can assist your shipper but shipping is the sole responsibility of the purchaser. The car is in like new condition but it is a 43 year old classic car and no warranty is expressed or implied.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE BIDDING!!

Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.

Junkyard Gem: 2001 Pontiac Aztek

Tue, Jul 11 2017

Ah, the Pontiac Aztek. Everyone laughs at the Aztek ... except, apparently, for Coloradans who like to go camping, bike riding, hiking, and all that outdoorsy stuff that folks do in the Centennial State. You'll see Azteks being driven, unironically and without shame, all over the place in the Denver region, and now plenty of them are showing up in the local wrecking yards. Here's a first-year-of-production example in its final campground. These minivans or crossovers (or however the experts finally decided to categorize them) had built-in air compressors, audio controls in the rear cargo area, and other features meant to enhance tailgating, camping, and other activities deemed central to Generation X's allegedly active lifestyle. You could even get an optional camping kit with a tent that attached to the rear of the Aztek. So, it was a General Motors minivan-like vehicle, cousin of the weird-looking Dustbusters of the 1990s, with lots of useful features for those who did more than just commute to work and drop off kids at school. Unfortunately for GM, the Aztek was staggeringly ugly, and Generation Xers were too damned broke to buy new cars in 2001, anyway. I see plenty of them in Denver-area wrecking yards now, along with their slightly-less-offensive-looking Buick Rendezvous siblings, and so I decided to document one before they're all gone. Junkyard Gem: 1988 Pontiac LeMans Sedan

Tue, Feb 7 2017

During the 1960s, the Pontiac LeMans was a sporty, rear-wheel-drive midsize car, the GTO's cheaper sibling. Through the 1970s and into the middle 1980s, the LeMans became a bit less youthful-looking but remained a traditional rear-wheel-drive Detroit machine with a V8 engine option. Then, starting in the 1988 model year, the LeMans name went onto a South Korean-built version of the misery-inducing, front-wheel-drive Opel Kadett E. These were dark days for the Pontiac marque; here's the proof, photographed at a San Francisco Bay Area self-service wrecking yard last month. This one didn't quite make it to the 100,000-mile mark. These cars were very, very cheap and sold reasonably well, but nearly all of the 1988-1993 LeManses are hatchbacks. I have seen a total of two Daewoo LeMans sedans during the last decade, and this is one of them. Under the hood, 74 raging Opel/Daewoo horsepower. This content is hosted by a third party. In the United States, the ads for the LeMans were all about the hatchback, and all about cheap excitement.
