This is my 1967 Pontiac GTO. I am the second owner of this car. I bought it in Florida about 7 years ago. It is a numbers matching 4 speed car (one of the rare cars that have the serial number stamped on the transmission M20 muncie). It has AC, head rests, reclining bucket seat,am/fm radio and the 8 track player (yes the 8 track works ). They are all original options on this car. I added power steering and brakes because driving this car with out them was not only a great work out, it was not fun. I had the engine rebuilt and it has roughly 250 miles on the engine (bored 30 over and a slightly bigger cam). The car had 62,336 miles on it when I bought it. I hooked up the speedometer and it worked for 2 miles then quit. I think it is the plastic gear and the cable are not any good. The AC is all there but not working (or hooked up).The car was painted about a year and a half ago and it looks awesome. Yes it is a biased opinion because it is my car. I have won a few trophies at local car shows, but the engine compartment could use some detailing. I think the only new parts on this car is the gas tank, brake and fuel lines and the windshield. I am missing one sill plate because I refuse to use repop parts on this and I havnt found a pair that are good enough. All interior parts are original and in really great shape. There are a few small holes in the back side panels, and a small hole in the headliner. Once again I did not want to change the originality of this car. The carb is original and will need work, runs very rich ( brass seals inside are letting fuel into the engine I think). There are the usual leaks from the power steering and I think the rear. I put all new moog and hodgkis parts on the suspension. And new springs. The car runs and drives well. The car came with plane jane steel wheels so I just bought the rally 2's and new tires. All electrical works, new front wiring harness original dash harness. If you are looking for a original GTO, this is it. Oh, the carpet is new. I tried to save the old one, but didnt happen.,and the package tray.There is a small dent in the bumper ( a pole in a food store parking lot). All the sheetmetal is original. Any questions feel free to ask, only thing nearly as fun as driving this car is talking about it.Runs on premium fuel. I replaced all the body bushings too. I am requesting a 1000 dollar refundable deposit that will be returned if you show up and dont want the car. But you have to show up in person to get the refund. The interior pictures were taken before the paint and other work was done.

This KITT replica sold at auction for $32,500
Thu, Apr 23 2020UPDATE: This 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am KITT replica officially sold for $32,500. Here's hoping the new owner has a blast throwin' it into Pursuit Mode. Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: This isn't a perfect KITT replica. The original KITT used in the Knight Rider TV series was based on a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The one you see above, which is currently for sale at auction site Bring A Trailer, is a 1987 model, and since it's a GTA edition, it has some extra body cladding that the smooth-sided television car lacked. That aside, most casual observers would probably never notice the difference, and even those who did (like us) are still likely to be impressed by the car's transformation. This KITT replica is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It ought to be fairly quick, though quite a bit shy of the fictional car's very fictional 300-mph top speed. We're not exactly Knight Rider experts, but some quick Google sleuthing suggests that the Knight Industries Two Thousand supposedly cost more than $11,000,000 to build in Hollywoodland. This one will surely command a significantly lower sum — as of this writing, it's been bid up to $18,000 with four days remaining on the auction. This content is hosted by a third party. Junkyard Gem: 2006 Pontiac Solstice
Wed, Sep 4 2019The debut of the Pontiac Solstice, back in 2005 for the 2006 model year, stirred up much excitement in the automotive world. Sales were brisk at first, and then they weren't so great… and then Pontiac itself went under The General's cost-cutting axe. One thing I have learned during my junkyard travels is that even sought-after sports cars eventually reach a point at which they start showing up in the big self-service junkyards. For example, the BMW Z3 began appearing in such yards about five years ago, along with the Audi TT. While the Honda S2000 still appears to be exempt from this process, today's Junkyard Gem shows that the time has now come for the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky. The first Z3s and TTs I saw in the U-Wrench-type yards were crash victims, not worth fixing, and that's the case with this Solstice. In a few more years, I'll start seeing the occasional Solstice/Sky discarded due to general worn-outness. Someone grabbed all the undented front body parts and the transmission (these items, presumably, being valuable), but no junkyard shoppers have felt like pulling the non-turbo 2.0-liter Ecotec. The interior seems dirty, probably from exposure to the elements while sitting outdoors in this Colorado Springs wrecking yard, but not in bad shape otherwise. Perhaps the car's owner celebrated a return from Iraq with the purchase of a sporty new Pontiac, 13 years ago. These cars have an enthusiastic following, so I wasn't expecting to see a junked one so soon after production ceased. Junkyard Gem: 2009 Pontiac G3
Sun, Mar 28 2021Things weren't looking so rosy for Pontiac Division in late 2008, as The General had troubles of its own that culminated in Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June of 2009. Meanwhile, the Solstice and G8 had failed to revive Pontiac's youthful "excitement" image. Naturally, this seemed like the ideal time to put Pontiac badges and a new grille on the Chevrolet Aveo (itself a rebadged Daewoo Kalos) and call it the G3 (in the United States) or the G3 Wave (in Canada). Sales were not brisk, to put it mildly, and the 2009-only G3 has become one of the rarest modern Pontiacs in the junkyard world. The announcement of Pontiac's demise came in the spring of 2009, with the very last Pontiac-badged vehicle built being either a G3 or a Vibe (since those cars were really Daewoos and Toyotas, respectively, the true final Pontiac was the 2010 G6). The Aveo itself disappeared after the 2011 model year, replaced by an updated Kalos design known here as the Chevrolet Sonic. As a result of the GM bankruptcy, termination of the Pontiac brand, a nasty worldwide recession, and the preference of American vehicle shoppers for trucks or at least truck-shaped cars, few knew the G3 existed and fewer still thought to buy one. This is only the second G3 I've managed to find in a car graveyard, and I've been searching diligently. So, it's a Junkyard Gem in the historical sense, not in the sense of being the kind of car you'd want to take to your 20th high school reunion. That said, it has power windows, air conditioning, and a CD player— pretty nice stuff for a dirt-cheap econobox from a decade back. And look! An AUX jack for your iPod or early-model smartphone. I drove dozens of cheap rental cars for my job with the 24 Hours of Lemons Traveling Circus during the late 2000s, and very few had this feature; until about 2013 or so, you had to travel with your own CDs or one of those horrible wireless FM modulators if you wanted to listen to anything other than the radio in a non-high-roller rental car.
