Is very proud to be offering this amazing Classic GTO - please see all the pictures below the car's description!

California born and raised - 1966 Pontiac GTO with the OEM A.I.R. emissions system still in place!

1966 Pontiac GTO Hardtop, 70,000 original miles, fully numbers matching and an original CALIFORNIA CAR!

Rust Free, garage kept (and check out this garage!!) and always covered.

The #'s matching 389/4v with 335hp and 431 lb ft of torque will get the ice cream home before it melts! Backed by the original 2-Spd automatic transmission and 10-bolt Pontiac Posi rear, this car can run!

The car was built in Fremont California and was sold new out of Burlingame Motor Company in Burlingame, CA (San Fran area).

This car has its PHS docs and a repop window sticker all framed up for shows.

It's been repainted in its original hue of Cameo Ivory with a new "Cordova" vinyl top; the body panels are original, line up well and the car is extremely straight.

The interior looks to be mostly original and is in wonderful shape, the strato-buckets and console are in great shape as are the dash, door panels, headliner and replacement carpet. The sound system has been upgraded with a 200 watt AM-FM Cassette which includes a trunk mounted CD-changer -- the radio looks like a vintage unit but its internals are new (the original AM radio is included).

Options include Power Steering and Power Brakes, tinted glass, buckets/console and the VERY RARE RPO612 California only "Air Injection Reactor" (A.I.R.) exhaust control system. Beginning in 1966 California mandated that ALL vehicles sold in the state were to have this system installed in order to cut down on the emissions. Try finding an original A.I.R. setup on ANY car these days, this is CRAZY rare!

If you are looking for a great running and driving 1st generation GTO with good paperwork, matching numbers, this car is definitely worth considering.

Junkyard Gem: 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible

Sun, Jan 8 2023

GM's Pontiac Division sold its first convertibles during the 1927 model year (just a year after the division's creation), then proceeded to offer memorable drop-tops for most of the following 83 years. The best-selling convertible to bear Pontiac badges during our current century was the retractable-hardtop-equipped G6, available from the G6's introduction in 2006 through the second-to-last model year of 2009 (the Sunfire convertible was available just through 2000, while the Firebird convertible vanished with the demise of the slow-selling Firebird itself after 2002). Here's one of those G6 GT convertibles, found in a Denver-region boneyard after a crash ended its driving career. Mashed right front, popped airbags. This sort of damage might have been worth repairing in 2009, but not today. The 2007 G6 was available as a coupe, sedan, or convertible. All the convertibles had the GT trim level and the 3.5-liter V6 and its 224 horsepower. The MSRP on this car was $28,750 (about $42,325 in 2022 dollars), making it the most expensive G6. The power hardtop roof folded up into the trunk, leaving 1.8 cubic feet of trunk storage space with the top down. This Karmann-designed roof system made the interior much quieter than that of a traditional soft-top convertible. All G6s were built at Orion Assembly in Michigan, where Chevy Bolts are born today. The G6 was built through the 2010 model year, making it one of the very last Pontiac models (the Vibe also made it to 2010, though it was really a Toyota Matrix). In hindsight, 2007 turned out to be an ominous year for GM.

Florida man runs down bikers in traffic

Tue, May 31 2016

A Florida biker and his passenger got a nasty surprise when a road rage incident turned ugly on Monday. According to WTSP, Joe Calderazzo was returning from a Veterans Memorial Day motorcycle rally around 5:30 pm with a group of fellow riders. During their ride, the group got entangled with an overly aggressive driver in a Pontiac. Abe Garcia of Tampa watched the silver Pontiac attempt to run the pack of bikers off the road, which started the altercation. The bikers caught up to the Pontiac in stopped traffic, and a shouting match ensued between the bikers and the Pontiac driver. At this point, Garcia pulled out his phone and started recording. The exchange escalated, and suddenly the Pontiac driver floored it, turned hard to the right, and ran over Calderazzo's Harley. The Pontiac mangled the Harley and knocked Calderazzo and his passenger to the ground. The Pontiac then fled the scene. WTSP spoke to Calderazzo as he was on his way to the hospital. "I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously," said Calderazzo. "You know you don't know what's going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don't know what's going on." The Pontiac driver, a serial traffic offender named Robert Paul Vance, was picked up by police soon after the incident. He is charged with hit-and-run, a moving traffic violation, and aggravated battery. GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns

Thu, 15 May 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.
