Up for auction is my 2008 Pontiac G6, GT Street Edition 4-door.
I am the second owner; I purchased it from Capitol Cadillac in Lansing, MI two years ago.
It has a 3.5L V6 that gets 18mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway; I'm currently getting 23+mpg with about 80% city driving.
The Street Edition trim makes this a very special car. Pontiac installed a special body kit, special wheels, and outfitted the interior with all the bells & whistles. I've never seen another G6 like it!
I am VERY particular about the condition of my cars and have meticulously maintained every part of this G6. I wash it at-least once a week, detail it regularly, and am constantly checking its vitals, (someone told me today that I'm obsessive... that's a good thing, right?).
The factory brake rotors were never up to par for these cars, so I upgraded the brake rotors and pads on all 4 corners 10 months and 11,000 miles ago to drilled, slotted, & vented rotors with ceramic pads. These brakes should last another 75,000 miles.
It was in a minor front end collision in December of 2011, the front bumper cover and left headlight were replaced at that time.
80,4xx Miles
3.5L V6, oil changed 600 miles ago
4 speed automatic w/ tap-shift
R1 Concepts E-line drilled/slotted/vented brake rotors
R1 Concepts Posi-quiet ceramic brake pads
18" aluminum & painted wheels
Michelin Hydro-edge tires with a lot of meat left, I replaced a defective one 13,000 miles ago
Tire pressure sensors in all 4 wheels
Dark Steel Grey Metallic Paint
Trico Neoform wiper blades
Fog lights
Black leather seats
Leather wrapped steering wheel
Monsoon stereo with aux. port & 6 disc in-dash CD changer (it sounds AMAZING)
Steering wheel mounted cruise control & radio controls
Onstar equipped
Power driver seat
Heated driver and front passenger seats
Power sunroof
Power windows
Power adjustable pedals
Automatic lights
Keyless entry
Remote start
Cruise control
Dual front and side curtain airbags
Phantom Footprints theft tracking
Never smoked in
I'm sure I've forgotten a few things, but you get the picture.
It does have minor stone chips, scuffs, and blemishes inside and out, as you'd expect with an 80,000+ mile car; no door dings or dents.
This car is a blast to drive, comfortable and spacious. I had no idea Pontiacs could be so luxurious until I saw this car. Ive driven it to KY and back, and all over the UP; it's never skipped a beat or let me down. It's my daily driver, so mileage will increase.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
There is a lien on the title, but that's easily taken care of.

Pontiac should come back as a performance division for GM
Thu, Apr 6 2017For decades the Pontiac brand was known as GM's performance brand. From the 1964 Pontiac GTO, to the 1967 Firebird, to the 1984 Fiero, to the 2006 Solstice Turbo, and 2009 G8 GXP, Pontiac had a reputation for building exciting cars, with bold styling and performance to back it up. When the Camaro was killed off in 2002, the Pontiac Firebird died off with it, and the last Pontiacs were built in early 2010. But with names like G3, G4, and G6, Pontiac's performance image had long faded from it's earlier glory days. My idea for Pontiac's revival would be to bring it back as a dedicated performance marque similar to Chevy's Super Sport (SS) line up of years past. First, and most obvious would be to bring back the Pontiac Firebird. Offering the entry-level model with the Camaro's 275HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, then having the Camaro SS's 455HP V8, but also offering a halo model Trans Am that is a revamped Camaro ZL-1 along with it's tire-shredding 650HP, supercharged V8 and race tuned suspension. Secondly, I would bring back the GTO. Which I would base on the current Chevy SS, but I would use the full 455-horsepower LS4 V8 (rather than the 415-hp setup that it has now). Furthermore, I would add the impressive 650-hp supercharged V8 to provide real competition to the Charger Hellcat. Importantly, I would make sure that the new GTO had bold, distinctive styling that really set it apart. I understand that purists would want any Pontiac GTO to be a two-door coupe, but I think that they could forgive that if the new GTO was an outstanding American performance car. Next, I would take the Buick Cascada convertible, add much bolder styling, swap in the Camaro's 275-hp turbo engine, and tune up the suspension to provide more performance than luxury (without being harsh). And finally I would round out the line up by using the new 2018 Traverse , but use the new, bold Pontiac design language to spice up the model's looks, tweak the engines for more power, and again provide a performance suspension that matches the model's new sporty looks. Obviously, having a high performance Pontiac model line up would steal away some sales from Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models. But I think that it would more than make up for this by also stealing away sales from competing brands. Junkyard Gem: 2009 Pontiac G3
Sun, Mar 28 2021Things weren't looking so rosy for Pontiac Division in late 2008, as The General had troubles of its own that culminated in Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June of 2009. Meanwhile, the Solstice and G8 had failed to revive Pontiac's youthful "excitement" image. Naturally, this seemed like the ideal time to put Pontiac badges and a new grille on the Chevrolet Aveo (itself a rebadged Daewoo Kalos) and call it the G3 (in the United States) or the G3 Wave (in Canada). Sales were not brisk, to put it mildly, and the 2009-only G3 has become one of the rarest modern Pontiacs in the junkyard world. The announcement of Pontiac's demise came in the spring of 2009, with the very last Pontiac-badged vehicle built being either a G3 or a Vibe (since those cars were really Daewoos and Toyotas, respectively, the true final Pontiac was the 2010 G6). The Aveo itself disappeared after the 2011 model year, replaced by an updated Kalos design known here as the Chevrolet Sonic. As a result of the GM bankruptcy, termination of the Pontiac brand, a nasty worldwide recession, and the preference of American vehicle shoppers for trucks or at least truck-shaped cars, few knew the G3 existed and fewer still thought to buy one. This is only the second G3 I've managed to find in a car graveyard, and I've been searching diligently. So, it's a Junkyard Gem in the historical sense, not in the sense of being the kind of car you'd want to take to your 20th high school reunion. That said, it has power windows, air conditioning, and a CD player— pretty nice stuff for a dirt-cheap econobox from a decade back. And look! An AUX jack for your iPod or early-model smartphone. I drove dozens of cheap rental cars for my job with the 24 Hours of Lemons Traveling Circus during the late 2000s, and very few had this feature; until about 2013 or so, you had to travel with your own CDs or one of those horrible wireless FM modulators if you wanted to listen to anything other than the radio in a non-high-roller rental car. Under the hood, a 106-horse Daewoo Ecotec displacing 1.6 liters. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. If there were any television commercials for the G3, I guarantee that they weren't as fun as this one— set in the California high desert, of course— for the SKDM Kalos.
GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners
Fri, 28 Oct 2011This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
