This is an aswesome deal for the right person! Car is brutally fast and very solid in the right areas! Has at least 450 horsepower.  The motor was in a drag car I bought from a friend and ran consistant 12.20's at the track with 3.42 gears carburated on 9" slicks  Now it has 2.76 posi with  wheel disc brakes.  The interior is all original and has the deluxe pillow style interior.  will need seat covers but are very nice condition. dash pad has a crack.  Factory tach and trans am style dash with tilt wheel and formula steering wheel.  everything works but back up lights, horn (was working until I installed new ignition switch), and the heater is not working, I was going to run vintage air so I never messed with it.  I will try to hook it up before auction ends.  Car is in remarkable condition for a 2nd gen firebird.  The front bumper needs adjusted to match the hood better, the car needs rear quarters, and tail panel which I can get at cost.  Brakes are all brand new! Floors, trunk, and frame are in awesome shape! glass is all good and works well! console is not original to the car.  Call or text with any questions! Car is really really fast and drives straight down the road.  Inner fenders are not in right now but I will put them back in before sale.  The gas tank was dirty so I tossed it and am running a boat tank in the trunk currently.  New tires, fresh motor, transmission, stall convertor, etc.  hard work is done.  Body mans dream!

  • fresh motor
  • new exhaust sounds mean as %$#@
  • complete new brake system including rotors and lines
  • head lights, tail lights, and blinkers all work
  • instrument lighting and dome light all work
  • has ram air 3 exhaust manifolds
  • 2 1/2" exhaust with custom square mufflers
  • good glass and all windows work as they should
  • dash pad has one crack
  • seat tracks work as they should
  • factory tach
  • tilt steering column
  • formula trans am steering wheel
  • deluxe interior
  • shaker hood, missing correct base and ring but I have it mocked up on it to drive it around town to local cruises
  • car has been painted once but is close to original color
  • easy restoration project and can be driven as is.  I could take video and send it to show how the car sounds.  It is a original 68 HO 400 out of a 68 GTO 4 speed car and it has been built and built well! very impressive!

Pontiac Aztek rises from the ashes of infamy in Firebird Trans Am guise

Thu, Apr 9 2020

What if the Pontiac Aztek, one of the most widely ridiculed vehicles ever built, was reimagined with a little flair from one of the former brand’s more legendary cars? Well, it turns out that someone not only came up with that idea, but followed up on it. And so, we present to you the Pontiac Aztek Firebird Trans Am, uh, trim package? ItÂ’s not real, of course, but it comes from Abimelec Arellano, an Hermosillo, Mexico-based car designer with too much time on his hands who goes by the name Abimelec Design. Arellano redesigned the midsize SUVÂ’s wimpy front fascia to surprising success by simply adding widened fender flares and perhaps modernizing the headlights. He also went all-in embracing the AztekÂ’s abrupt, flattened rear end by removing the rear bumper lip, adding a slightly more aggressive rear spoiler to boot. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Elsewhere, the dominating and cheap-looking gray plastic under-cladding is gone in favor of body-color panels. Arellano also added some probably larger Pontiac Snowflake wheels with gold accents that really make them pop and play well against the signature Firebird decal dominating the hood. Commenters generally fall into one of two buckets. As one put it, “I never thought the Aztek could look this good.” Others implored Arellano to do a version with a T-top. Or as one Autoblog editor put it, “So it turns out the reason the Aztek was a laughingstock failure is that it didnÂ’t come in a Smokey and the Bandit Edition. Somewhere, a dude who got shouted down in a product-planning meeting years ago is vindicated.” Sold between 2001 and 2005, the Aztek arguably reached the pinnacle of its notoriety as the metaphor for the drab, underachieving life of Walter White in AMCÂ’s meth drama, “Breaking Bad.” It came equipped with a 3.4-liter V6 that made 185 horsepower and sent it through a four-speed automatic to the front wheels, with an all-wheel drive version also available. The Aztek may have the last laugh, especially if it gets a screaming chicken. “The fact it was a controversial design and didnÂ’t sell well will make it an object of curiosity from a historical standpoint many years from now,” McKeel Hagerty, president and CEO of classic-car insurer Hagerty Insurance, told Autoblog back in 2016.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
