1972 Pontiac Catalina Base Convertible 2-door 6.6l on 2040-cars
Farmington, Utah, United States
NO RESERVE, NO BUY IT NOW.1972 Pontiac Catalina convertible, runs drives very well. New 235R75/15 Big O radial tires, new mufflers, new front seat covers. Seats are out of a 1971 LeMans. Brown interior, black console (sorry about that, after I put bucket seats in I figured it needed a center console although it's still column shift. All I had was a black console). AM FM radio, crappy speakers. New front shock absorbers and stabilzer bushings. Ready to go cruising this summer. I believe the wheels are 1971 or 1972 Oldsmobile. The top bows are all there but fabric gone. The top motor gear drive is missing a gear, needs new drive cables. The top is gear driven not hydraulic. Gearing works. Not sure if top drive motor any good. All that stuff is available. It's a convertible so I didn't worry about a top, I just drive it top down all the time. Windshield cracked and intermittent wipers (some times they work, sometimes they don't). Heater switch was acting weird, I wired another switch under dash so heater motor would work. Clear Utah title in my name. Steve 801-450-8336 or 801-899-9486
I know this car is far from perfect but it sure is a lot of fun to drive. Power steering, power disc brakes (on the front), turbo 400 3 speed automatic transmission. Runs and drives great. I've had a lot of fun with it. I get smiles and waves all the time. It's cheap entertainment. It's located in Farmington, Utah 84025. That's about 15 miles north of Salt Lake City just off Exit 322 on I-15. Easy to get to. If you need it delivered to a shipper in Salt Lake City I'll do that no charge. Final payment accepted in cash or by bank wire transfer only. I will accept a $500 deposit by paypal (required). |

This Hoonigan mechanic's twin-turbo Trans Am is wonderful
Thu, Mar 24 2016What do you drive when you work on rally machines for a living? Probably a Subaru WRX, and that's what Gregg Hamilton had for a while until working on his car felt too much like his day job. So when he moved from New Zealand to the US to work for Ken Block (with a few stops along the way) he bought something entirely different. This is Gregg's 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It's a throwback to another time, but it's anything but stock. It has that magic combination of a big V8 with a manual transmission and rear drive, just like the tin-top racers Gregg watched in his Kiwi youth. He bought it sight unseen from its previous owner in Alabama, and has been tinkering with it ever since. There's something about the flared wheel arches and the classic Firebird gold-striped black livery that has us smitten. Scope out the six-minute clip above from Petrolicious and see if you don't fall for Gregg's Pontiac as well.
This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
There's a 'Knight Rider' movie in development
Mon, Aug 17 2020James Wan, who has directed films from the first "Saw" to "Aquaman," with "Furious 7" in between, and produced even more projects, is producing a new Knight Rider movie according to a report in Deadline. Just in case there's a reader who doesn't know, Knight Rider was one of the seminal trio of iconic-car shows from the 1980s, along with "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Miami Vice." The series lasted 90 episodes that ran from 1982 to 1986, following the crime-fighting exploits of Michael Knight, a man who crusaded for justice after being shot in the face. Billionaire Walton Knight hired Michael to work with the Knight Foundation, where Michael helps develop the Knight Industries Two Thousand, a Pontiac Trans-Am with AI that can talk, drive more than 200 miles per hour, and could teach MI6's Q Branch about gadgetry. Collider described David Hasselhof's Michael Knight as "crimefighter by trade and wearing-a-leather-jacket-with-no-shirt-underneath innovator by hobby." The show made such an impression that there was a series spinoff called "Code of Justice," two TV movies in 1991 and 1994, a convention called KnightCon, and a series reboot on NBC that lasted for one season from 2008 to 2009, as well as stores full of action figures and models and literature, YouTube fan-made trailers and movies, and this wacky German-dubbed short "Knight Rider" film starring Hasselhoff. We don't know anything about the new movie's plot yet, other than that it's set in the present. T.J. Fixman, better known for now as a video game writer who worked on franchises like "Ratchet and Clank" and "Resistance: Fall of Man," has been attached to write, with a mandate to keep "the anti-establishment tone of the original." With matters still early in development there's no telling when the movie will hit theaters, and Wan's probably got his hands busy with the new MacGuyver reboot for CBS, anyway. Now that there's already been a Knight Industries 2000 and 3000, that gives us plenty of time to imagine — in a world where 200-mph hypercars powered by everything sprout like weeds and even Cannonballers are using military-like equipment — what would a Knight Industries Four Thousand possess? And would it be called KIFT? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
