1933 PLYMOUTH STREET ROD CUSTOM

This is one bad little Hot Rod that was built right. The body is a one off fiberglass that was built by Performance Composites, Inc. who builds racing airplanes.  It has a 3” chop and channeled 8”, with a 6” stretch to the front end.  The frame is made from 2 x 4 tubing, z’d 4”.  A roll bar is built in and hidden in the interior.  Suspension is Mustang II in front with Heidt’s aluminum coil overs and chrome tubular cross members.  The rear suspension is adjustable aluminum coil overs and 4 link bars.

The motor is a 350 SBC built by Holley Racing Engines with Dart heads, Holley 650 Double pumper, aluminum intake, MSD ignition, and Sanderson Zoomies.  Loads of billet on engine.  Motor was dyno’d at 400HP.  Trans is GM Turbo 400 with shift kit and rear is GM 12 bolt with posi trac 3:55 gear.

Weld wheels with good tires.  Accessories include power windows, power steering, tilt wheel, door poppers, and stereo system.

For a different look, I also have a set of ceramic coated sprint side pipes and a hood for the car. This gives the car a tamer look and accentuates the stretched front end. This rod is a real head turner that runs and drives great.  There are no issues with drivability.  The car is not a $80,000 trailer queen and is intended to be driven and enjoyed.  Many trophies have been received at car shows and this car gets a ton of attention.  The pictures show the quality that went into this build.

If you are over 5’ 10” and 220 lbs, don’t even think about it…you may fit in the car but it will be very tight!!   Email or call me at 630-333-87four9 with any questions you may have.

Thanks for looking.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
