1977 Plymouth Gran Fury

One owner car purchased new at MC Peek Chrysler-Plymouth in Anaheim CA. Perfect to clone into a police or unmarked detective car. Original blue and yellow CA plates, window sticker and manuals included. Odometer showing 34k miles but cannot prove that's original miles. Although the Fury could easily pass as a low mile car, I'm listing the Fury with 134K miles to error on the safe side.

Clean CA title with current registration thru October 2014. The Cadet Blue Metallic Gran Fury was optioned with the (E56) 360ci 4-bbl V8, Heavy Duty Suspension, Air Conditioning, Tinted Glass All Windows, Engine Temp and Oil Pressure Gauges, Left Side Remote Control Mirror, AM Radio, Deluxe Wheel Coversand Body Side Molding.

The original owner invested approximately $4000.00 in the Gran Fury in the last years of her life from 2009-2013. The Fury has been driven less than 1,500 miles in the last 5 years. A partial list of work performed on the Fury includes: full tune-up with plugs, wires, PVC valve, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, oil change, A/C retro-fit to R-134A, all new Monroe shocks, Radiator hose, rear pinion seal and gear oil, Alternator, voltage regulator, new coolant, intake manifold and gasket, EGR valve and Brake master cylinder. The tires have approximately 70% tread remaining and are in good condition. I just had the A/C charged and its blow cold. All repair receipts will be included.

It's hard to say if the Gran Fury accually needed all the work performed or repair shops were taking advantage of a single elderly lady? Regardless, the receipts show a ton of work has been done to the Fury in the last 1500 miles or less.

The Fury runs and drives beautifully and does not leak oil or smoke. All the gauges and radio work. A solid Car to clone into a Police car or drive and enjoy the way it is. PLease contact me thru ebay with any questions.         Thank You!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
