The interior is in great shape with leather seats except the plastic support on the drivers seat is broken. The problem with the van is that I waited too long to change the timing belt and it broke the other day. I had it towed to a shop by me but they can't tell if there is any engine damage unless they dig into it. I called the Nissan dealer that I bought it from and a tech that has been there for 30 years said it is a non interfering engine even though many listings on the internet say it is an interfering engine. So I do not know if there is engine damage. Up to 3 days ago I was driving it everyday. It has Michelin tires on it with lots of tread left. I put $900.00 into the brakes about 2 months ago with new rotors and drums. You can come and see it in Olney, Md. Towed or shipped."

My 2001 Nissan Quest GLE is being sold with no reserve.  It will have to be towed or shipped since the timing belt broke the other day.  I had it towed a mile to a garage but they can't tell if there is any engine damage without digging into it or replacing it and seeing what happens.  I had been driving it everday before this. My kids are grown now so I don't need a minivan anymore anyway.  The exterior is in very good shape except for a couple spots on the bumper where the paint is peeling.  The luggage rack has some spots where the cover is peeling as well. The hood has the normal chips and marks from 12 years of driving.  The interior is very nice.  I have used leather cleaner and conditioner on it regularly.  Carpet is in good shape.  The seats do not have any rips.  I have the back shelf as well as the VHS player.  Woo hoo.  But you can plug any video device you want to play from the overhead screen.  The Michelin tires were bought in 2008 but lots of tread on them.  I had $900.00 worth of brake work a few months ago.  New rotors and pads,  new drums .  I have changed or had the oil changed regularly.  I called the Nissan dealer where I bought it and a teach that has been there for 30 years said this is a non interfering engine though many places on the internet say it is an interfering.  I don't know if there is any engine damage so this is being sold AS IS.  No warranty of any kind.  Come and see it in Olney,  MD before the auction ends.  Thank you.

In case you forgot, the Dubai Police supercar fleet is the coolest

Tue, Feb 10 2015

Ever wonder why the Dubai Police have a fleet of vehicles worth millions and millions and millions of dollars? Why it has a Bugatti Veyron and a Bentley Continental and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with sirens and light bars? Well, here's the reason. This video shows the fleet on display on the Emirate's roads and highways, while also reaching out to the people the police are meant to protect. It's an impressive display of machinery, to be sure. Alongside the Bentley, Bugatti and Mercedes, we spy a Ferrari FF, a Brabus G-Wagen, a BMW M6, a Nissan GT-R, an Audi R8 and a McLaren MP4-12C (although the latest Dubai Police car, the Lexus RC F, is absent). The video even has a very cinematic look and feel to it, which works well with the night scenes and the blues-and-twos of the exotics cruisers. Nissan Safari police truck a sort of A-Team van from Japan

Wed, 28 May 2014

Television today might be at one the best points in the medium's history with shows like Mad Men, Louie, True Detective and streaming offerings like House of Cards. However, none of those come close to the number of car chases and explosions of '70s and '80s offerings like Charlie's Angels, The A-Team or The Dukes of Hazard. Apparently, this prevalence of action at the time wasn't just an American phenomenon. In Japan, a show called Seibu Keisatsu fulfilled the nation's need for shootouts and stunts.
Nissan was a major sponsor of the show, and therefore the brand's vehicles were used extensively, including a highly modified Nissan Safari SUV (also known as the Nissan Patrol), pictured above. In the show's lore, it was equipped with radar, a camera and a fire extinguisher capable of turning over a car. The series ran 236 episodes from 1979 to 1984, and with the trailer below as indication, that allowed time for plenty of car jumps and explosions.
The entire Seibu Keisatsu series is now coming out in Japan on DVD and Blu-Ray packed in a fake gun case. The trailer below shows off some of the action of the series. It all starts out normal enough, but about a minute into the video there are all sorts of Nissans jumping and crashing. Plus, there is a guy on fire in a shootout. This show looks like some seriously cheesy fun. Scroll down to get a taste of it.

Nissan Qashqai getting Juke-R treatment

Wed, 20 Mar 2013

As long as there are sacred cows, there will be heretics sharpening their knives in anticipation of the butchering. When Nissan first carved into the mighty GT-R to create the Juke-R, onlookers quickly fell into two camps: those who thought the plan was sheer genius and those who believed cannibalizing a GT-R to feed a Juke was a new brand of obscenity. We fell firmly in the former camp. Now Severn Valley Motorsport is looking to take that theme one step further by shoving the go-faster bits from a GT-R into a Nissan Qashqai. That noise you hear? It's us cackling like mad men.
While we can't say for certain, we're guessing the project should yield the world's fastest Qashqai thanks in no small part to the twin-turbocharged VR38DETT V6 engine from the GT-R. Throw in the all-wheel-drive system and the little CUV should change demeanor dramatically. We can't wait to see this thing in action.
