2001 Nissan Pathfinder on 2040-cars
Commerce City, Colorado, United States

My wife and I acquired a new SUV for the year and needed to get rid of our old one. We have in good condition a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. I will do my best to describe everything I know about this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. I am a part time mechanic and I have done all maintenance on this vehicle personally.
Mileage is mostly highway and still runs great. Mileage will change because vehicle is still in use. Front wheel bearings, brakes, ignition coil boots, spark plugs O2 sensors(all 4) and fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator are all new as of the beginning of this current year(2013) I have the rear brake shoes but not installed, will include with purchase if I can't get to them. New tires that have less than 3000 miles on them. Small oil leak from oil cooler which I will take care of before new owner takes this. A few minor issues--- Passenger side turn light has a crack in it but I have another I can put on(see photos) Low pressure a/c line has leak which will need replaced eventually, still blows cold as for now. A MIL light has been on for years and the code states the "catalyst is below efficiency" which has not been an issue passing any emissions tests. We got a emissions done this October with no issues. I did, however purchase aftermarket lower catalytic converters which have not been put on yet but if seller desires me to I will put them on for an additional $50. If not then I will still include them with the sale and new owner will be able to do them. The transmission works but there recently has been a little "buck" from 1st to 2nd when its cold start up, it may be a throttle position adjustment issue which I will look into also. Just a heads up just in case though. The front bumper has a minor blemish from a car hit and run but did not dent it. The driver's side mirror has a chunk out of it from a parking garage door but still works perfectly. Out Husky thought it was a good idea to hide food in the back seat from us so there is a small tear in the driver's side rear seat, about 5in in length and could be taken somewhere and patched.(see photos) The CD changer does not function and never had worked when we bought this vehicle but the radio and cassette player work fine. We use out ipod with the cassette player through the radio when listening to music. The good--- Everything power works, front seats, rear entertainment(VHS tape), windows(rear ones are a little slow when cold) sun roof, etc, etc, Engine runs strong with no known issues. This has a part time transfer case which will allow this vehicle to have the driving options of 2WD, AWD, 4LOCK, 4LOW all of which work well. Installed a K&N air filter inside air box. We get anywhere from 14-15mpg in the city and 17-19mpg highway which isn't terrible by today's standards. Exterior paint still shines, however there are a few door dings from parking lots. Has a hitch receiver for towing, has a little rust on the receiver. Overall this has been a great vehicle and had no issues with this from the years we have owned this. My wife bought this back on 2007 I believe with around 75,000 on it at the time. We own mountain property here in Colorado and use this during the winter and has done wonders in the snow. I only have the one transmitter and chip key for the vehicle. I have most of the receipts for the parts I have put on and will include this will the title when it sells. The title is clean and clear. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you for looking and have a nice day. |

Renault invests in sailing ships to reduce its carbon footprint
Tue, Nov 27 2018Renault is taking a page from the golden age of sailing as the company looks towards reducing its carbon footprint through the use of cargo sailing ships. The French automaker recently announced its partnership with Neoline, a start-up enterprise based in the west of France. The firm specializes in reducing the cost and emissions of typical cargo ships, by reintroducing sailing into the transportation equation. Renault's goal is to reduce its global carbon footprint by 25 percent in 2022, as compared to where they were in 2010. This plan also includes a separate target, to lower supply chain emissions - which includes shipping methods such as trucks, trains, and cargo ships - by 6 percent, compared to levels in 2016. Two prototype cargo vessels, complete with a full set of sails, will be introduced by 2021-22. These two ships will travel between the U.S. eastern seaboard (exact locations are TBD) and the French port cities of Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Pierre & Miquelon. Specifics about what exactly the ships will be carrying has not been released, though Renault is part of an extensive global auto alliance that includes Nissan and Mitsubishi. "For nearly 10 years, we have been working to identify the most environmentally sustainable solutions," said Jean-Francois Salles, Alliance global director, production control. "For example, optimizing the fill rates of the containers and trucks, producing eco-friendly packaging, and implementing a multi-modal system." The current demonstration vessel measures in at 446 feet in total length and has more than 45,000 square-feet of sail. For all you big ship fans out there, the Titanic was about double this size, stretching about 882-feet in length. When powered solely by the wind, Neoline CEO, Jean Zanuttini, says that total emissions drop by as much as 90 percent, versus the carbon footprint of a traditional cargo vessel. US collectors lift Nissan GT-R Skyline values
Wed, Aug 5 2015Collector cars are seen as such a safe place to "put" money that mainstream financial outlets regularly run stories on best practices. Air-cooled Porsche prices are so high you need a SpaceX rocket to explore their upper limits, and Ferrari is in the unheard of position of trying to convince investors to throw money at its IPO instead of its early cars. Classic and Performance Car reports that the R32 Nissan GT-R is getting caught up in the riptide, with values for 25-year-old examples out of Japan having doubled in the last ten months. The cause leads to the United States, because collectors here can finally import the second-generation GT-R legally now that 25 years has elapsed. As a classic car rep says in the CPC article, though, the trend only applies to "really clean examples," ones with low miles. Road & Track spoke to a couple of companies importing them into States now, and they report that prices have tripled in some cases, and special editions like the R32 GT-R Nismo have gone beyond that. If you're not looking for unicorns or Newfoundland Ponies, however, the folks in the business say you can find a reasonably priced examples. Because they were performance cars popular with the modding crowd, akin to our last-gen Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7, there's a wide range of wear and tear. The inventory list for importer Montu Motors shows a couple of unsold GT-Rs for mid-twenties money. Chris Bishop at Japanese Classics thinks the present spike is down to early adopters; once they skim the cream and more model years can be imported, "prices will level off, and then go down."
Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla will sell Model S on Alibaba in China, Wrightspeed electrifies garbage trucks
Tue, Oct 21 2014Tesla will sell cars in China using Alibaba's Tmall website. Customers will be able to use the Chinese shopping site to place an $8,200 deposit toward a Model S. Tmall will feature 18 preconfigured versions for customers to choose from, which won't offer quite the level of customization as Tesla's US site. Bloomberg's Jamie Butters calls it a "defensive move" on Tesla's part, and still expects the company to sell cars in China the traditional way. Watch the video at Bloomberg or read more at Bidness Etc. Tesla co-founder Ian Wright's company Wrightspeed is converting garbage trucks to EVs. The same brand that created the exciting X1 EV is making trash collection much cleaner. "Garbage trucks are the perfect driving cycle for us: they get two or three miles per gallon, drive 130 miles a day with 1,000 hard stops that chew on the brakes," says Wright. The system puts an electric motor at each of the truck's drive wheels, and includes an on-board generator that runs on diesel or natural gas to extend driving range. Read more at Xconomy. British company Hillside Leisure is converting the Nissan e-NV200 into a camper van. The electric RV, called the DalburyE, debuted at the UK's Motorhome and Caravan Show in Birmingham. It sleeps up to four people, and features a pop-up roof, a gas stove, fridge, sink and other amenities. It's a great way to take full advantage of an RV park's electrical outlet to charge the van while camping in it. Read more at Transport Evolved, and see more photos at Hillside Liesure's blog.
