This little pickup by Nissan Motor Company is called the D21  also known as ''The Hardbody'' ( due to their double-wall bed) has one of the best reputations in it's class for fuel efficiency,(EPA rated 16MPG city- 20 MPG   highway) ability to rack up hundreds of thousands of miles with no more than routine maintenance,versatility,safety while having one of the lowest costs of ownership delivering downright true value for the dollar.

We find this truck clean from front to rear with minimal cosmetic imperfections (dings,dimples,scuffs ect). We see no corrosion on the doors,fenders,panels or undercariage.All lenses,moldings and trim are clean and straight,The finish still has that ''New Truck'' luster (obviously this truck has been garaged).There is an all fiberglass color co-ordinated cap and a bedliner that has seen little use.There is a receiver hitch present that appears to have never been used.

     There are a very fresh looking matching set of all season steel-belted radials riding on the factory rims will all center caps present showing no curb or road rash. The full size spare as well as all jacking hardware are present and stowed properly.The windshield is both clear and clean showing no stone bruises,cracks or wiper mar.

The interior is crisp and clean showing minimal wear with  no abuse or neglect.There is no sunfade or degridation of the dash.The fold away rear seats appear to have never been used.It is quite obvious that this vehicle has never been smoked in,eaten in or used to carry pets, so refreshing.

Mechanically this little truck is sound.The well proven 3.0l v6 MPI engine fires to life with the click of the key coming to idle at specs.We see no oil leaks or smoke around the block or from the exhaust.On the drive the acceleration is responsive and smooth,the front end is tight and pleasing with the 5 speed transmission shifting easily thru the gears and the clutch feels fine.The 4x4 transfer case engages smoothly with no unusual sounds.The brakes stop the vehicle confidently with no pull or shudder.The air conditioner works quietly whie producing excellent cooling.We see no issues with the heat,defrost,cruise control,original sound system or safety features.In our opinion this little truck has been very well maintained and if continued by the next lucky owners they can expect many miles and years of troublefree service.

Some NY cabs could avoid hybrid ban

The Nissan NV200 is having a rough go of it as New York City's Taxi of Tomorrow. The Greater New York Taxi Association wants the van banned on the grounds that it isn't a hybrid, and has gone so far as to sue the city to keep the NV200 out of taxi fleets. According to The New York Times, the city has responded by proposing to allow taxi drivers to use certain hybrid vehicles. The Taxi and Limousine Commission's proposal would allow any vehicle with an interior volume of 138 cubic feet or more. Unfortunately, that excludes nearly every machine that isn't the size of the NV200.
Technically, Nissan is working on a hybrid version of the Taxi of Tomorrow, but it may be years before that model hits the streets, and the Greater New York Taxi Association isn't satisfied with the city's offer. In a statement, the Association said, "These rules look like they have been created to short-circuit the litigation. We do not consider this to be a serious proposal."

Nissan's Ghosn called out by Deltawing's Panoz in print ad

When the Nissan ZEOD RC limped to the side of the Circuit de la Sarthe a mere five laps into this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, we imagine that a certain American motorsports figure at least smirked a little. Don Panoz's ongoing feud with Nissan probably means he wasn't sorry to see the arrow-shaped racecar's poor showing, and now he's stepping up his campaign against his former racing partner.
For those who need a refresher, back in 2012, Panoz and Nissan teamed up to field the DeltaWing, an innovative, wedge-shaped racer, as the first entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans' experimental Garage 56 concept. The car rapidly became a fan favorite. The Panoz/Nissan alliance didn't last, though, and before long, the DeltaWing's designer was getting a paycheck from Nissan and the ZEOD RC racer arrived. Shortly after that, Panoz began mulling over a lawsuit alleging intellectual property infringement. The American motorsports icon would eventually pull the trigger on a suit back in December of 2013.
Panoz's latest move in the ongoing feud involves an open letter in both The Nashville Tennessean, the paper that serves Nissan's US headquarters, and trade paper Automotive News. The letter calls out Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn directly, and points out some of the similarities between the DeltaWing and the ZEOD RC, going so far as to quote the original car's designer, Ben Bowlby.

Nissan prices replacement Leaf battery at $5,500

The battery pack is the single most expensive component in a plug-in vehicle and, until now, figuring out the cost to replace one has been a bit of a mystery. Last year, Nissan tried a $100/month price for a new battery in its popular Leaf, but was loudly criticized for that attempt. Today, Nissan is changing gears with a big announcement regarding the price of a new pack for your Nissan Leaf: $5,500 to buy. With an asterisk. Nissan's Brian Brockman, writing at My Nissan Leaf, announced that Nissan Leaf replacement batteries are now available to purchase at certified Leaf dealers in the US at a suggested retail price of $5,499. These packs are the ones found in 2015 Leaf models, which are similar to the ones the Leaf has always had, just with a different, better battery chemistry. To buy a new pack, you need to give Nissan your original battery pack (which Nissan says will be recycled and has a value of $1,000) and the $5,500 "does not include tax, installation fees or an installation kit required for 2011 and 2012 vehicles." That kit costs around $225. A $100/month financing program will still be available (details will be made available later) but now it will have an end date and the driver will own the pack at the end of the payment process. All replacement packs will have the same eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty as the battery in a new Leaf. You can read Brockman's full statement below or over on My Nissan Leaf. Ever since the Leaf entered the market in late 2010, Nissan has been dealing with degrading battery issue, both as a real thing (in warm climates like Arizona) and as a worry in the mind of potential customers. Now that we know how much it'll cost to get a new pack, we can calculate that the overall cost for a new 24-kWh pack is now officially $6,500. That means the price to a customer is less than $270-per-kWh. That's quite low compared to some early estimates, right on target with others and a very big deal for EV shoppers and drivers out there.
