This is a listing for a 1987 Nissan Maxima. I am not sure if this is the SE or the GXE model. I have some original paperwork on it but it doesn't state what model it is. This is a used vehicle, being sold as is. The car has 121858 miles on it. Low mileage for a 1987. I have the title for this car with no lien holders. Included is the original manuals and warranty book that came with the car. Also the original receipts for repairs done by the first owner. These were in the glove compartment and I am not sure if these are complete records from the original owner. This is a really nice car. This car deserves to be repaired and/or restored if someone has the capability, I hate to scrap yard her.
Background:
The vehicle has had two owners: myself and my neighbor until 2012. The car belonged to my elderly neighbor and she purchased it new. When she left NYS she sold me her car. I have had it almost two years.
The Problem:
The car is drivable, but needs work to fix the brake lines and work on the frame. On Sept 25, 2013 the brake line rusted thru. It needs to be replaced. In addition, the car failed its last July 2013 inspection. It failed due to a dent in the unibody construction (right side) and some rust on the frame (left side). The guy showed me one spot of rust on the frame and the dent that caused the failure of the inspection. These issues are repairable. This would be a great car for someone who has the ability to make these repairs themselves, or has the money to spend at an auto body/repair station. The car also needs more work done on the exhaust system. I had replaced the muffler on the system about two months ago but exhaust still needs further work. There is a high pitch noise when the car runs and I have no idea what that is. The push button for the trunk release/opener needs to be replaced, but trunk can be accessed with the key.
The Exterior:
The car has a functioning sunroof. There is rust around the rear fender wells. The left rear door by the door handle has minor rust. There is some rust on the left front fender at very bottom and right front fender. The passenger doors have mirror rust. The right front part of the bumper plastic is cracked. On the hood there is a scratch, no rust yet. There is scratches on the roof that are minor. There are minor scratches on the trunk hood. There is some rust on the back above the rear brake lights. The tires are about a year old, and maybe have about 10000 miles on them.
The Interior:
The car has an original security system that works. It is called a theft warning system in the original paperwork. The system activates when you set it, even if you leave your windows down. There is a working AM/FM radio. There is a cassette. Not sure if cassette works as I have never tried it. The stereo has a working graphic equalizer. The car has working overdrive control switch. Vanity mirror passenger side. Spotlights mounted on inside ceiling between sun visors-all working. Interior light needs a bulb. There is a working luggage compartment light. There is car interior trunk access making the trunk readily accessible from the rear seat. There are three assist grips...front, rear passenger side and rear driver side. This is by design. Working trunk lid, and fuel lid openers in car. Working tilt steering wheel. The interior needs to be detailed as it is soiled from use. There is one button missing out of driver side seat upholstery. Seats feel like crushed velvet. The power antenna will not retract. You can hear it, like it is working, but it does not retract.
Information:
If you win or purchase this car you will have to call me to arrange for a day to pick this vehicle up with a tow truck, or like. I will ebay message you with my phone number. I would like to have the car moved within three days of the winning bid or purchase. If that is a problem please message me before you bid or purchase the car. Thank you.
Please read the listing and look at the pictures before you bid or purchase the car. I have tried to list everything. If you have any questions please ask before bidding or purchasing. I will answer all questions and concerns. This is a used car that needs repaired.
If you would like to view the car before bidding or purchasing please message me. Will not end listing for you to come view. This is a used, as is vehicle that needs work to run and pass NYS inspection. In the future there may be other problems that could arise that I am unaware of as this is a 1987 vehicle. I have listed every thing that I know.
I do not accept returns. No refunds. Any questions ask before bidding or purchasing. Cash, money order, bank check for payment at pick up. Or PayPal if they allow the amount, no echecks. Local pick up only please.
Thank you for your time to look at this listing.

2024 New York International Auto Show Editors' Top 5 Picks
Fri, Mar 29 2024The New York Auto Show, like many other shows over the past few years, has shrunk. But it's still playing host to some interesting reveals, and we even got a few surprises this year. It was dominated by Nissan and Hyundai Motor Group products, but ones running the gamut from affordable cars to flagship SUVs. It was a strange situation of being both quite diverse in reveals, and not at all, depending on how you looked at it. Our favorites of the show are a clear representation of that. And another interesting observation, only one of the picks was significantly electrified. Scroll down to see the best reveals of the New York Auto Show,. 2025 Nissan Kicks View 10 Photos 5. Nissan Kicks "The Nissan Kicks has gone from a reasonably attractive and small crossover into something way more funky with cool textures, color combinations and some actual presence. Plus, it's more spacious, more powerful and has available all-wheel drive. If Nissan can keep the price nice and low to compete with similarly stylish and well-executed competition like the Chevy Trax, the company's got a real winner on its hands." – News Editor Joel Stocksdale InfinitiQX80-Z63-051 View 39 Photos 4. Infiniti QX80 "The QX80 wasn't technically shown at the New York Auto Show, but it was revealed just a week prior at Hudson Yards – accross the street, in other words. Frankly, I wasn't blown away by the initial photos, but I think it looks great in person. The attention to detail both outside and in seem appropriate for an SUV that Infiniti hopes to sell for six figures loaded up. I'm a believer." – Associate Editor Byron Hurd 2025 Kia K4 Live View 7 Photos 3. Kia K4 Sedan "The Kia K4 interior has way more style than anything in the compact car price range has any business having. Now, if we don't get the green interior option shown in the initial global reveal photos, I'm retracting several of my points here. Otherwise, wowza. I kept looking and looking at that K4 interior photo, and finding new, interesting details to admire. Oh, and the exterior is pretty cool, too, though I do prefer the hatchback in that regard." – Senior Editor, West Coast, James Riswick Genesis GV60 Magma Concept View 10 Photos 2. Genesis GV60 Magma "I am psyched to see Genesis show off a proper performance car. The “Sport” trims on its various models are sort of neat, but the Magma brand looks like the real deal.
Nissan gives us the business on the art of clay modeling
Sat, 06 Apr 2013The team from The Dashboard recently stopped by the Nissan Technical Center in Japan for a look at what exactly goes into creating a full-scale clay model. While automakers have been using clay bucks for decades, designers and engineers are now combining computer renderings and hand-sculpted clay models to determine how a new vehicle will look in our world. Engineers use specially formulated clay kept warm in an oven to bring the body panels to life. They then coat the clay in a thin plastic film to add body color for the final look.
By the time everything is said and done, workers may have hundreds of hours in the model's creation. So, what happens when the company no longer needs the buck? They get scrapped. Someone comes in and dismantles the whole creation. We presume that action is set to the wailing tears of everyone who had a hand in building the model. Check out the video below for a closer look.
Nissan Sentra gets mean with 240-hp Nismo concept
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Nissan's Sentra Nismo Concept made its world debut at the LA Auto Show today as part of the Japanese automaker's intitiative to expand its performance line of factory performance models, and it's packing a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque - that's 110 hp more than the regular Sentra.
Of course, no high-performance version of any car would be complete without the suspension upgrades to handle the power, and Nissan has fitted Nismo-tuned suspension and a limited-slip differential to the little front-wheel-drive sedan. With such an increase in power, Nissan wisely chose to swap out the stock brakes for the Brembo calipers and discs from the 370Z. Larger 225-millimeter-wide tires are wrapped around 19-inch Rays wheels and contained within wider fender flares. The steering and six-speed manual transmission also were tuned by Nismo.
The exterior gets new aerodynamic bits, such as a revised front fascia, a chin spoiler and a new rear spoiler, while the interior gets a nice set of Recaro seats and a leather-and-Alcantara steering wheel. For more information on the Sentra Nismo Concept, check out the press release below, and feel free to head over to the auto show photo gallery to see the car up close.
