Lifted Nissan Titan King Cab - 50k Miles On Drive Train - Completely Overhauled on 2040-cars
Frostburg, Maryland, United States
Motor, Transmission and Transfer case changed at 120689 miles /due to a failed precat causing an overheat with head warping/ with low mileage drive train from a rolled over 2006 titan -- have paperwork and pictures of truck to prove this.
At that time, all fluids and filters were changed out for full synthetic(except the nissan specific transmission fluid) -- Also, ALL titans have exhaust manifold issues eventually -- this was addressed with a set of full length headers, deleted precats, replaced rear cats with 50 state legal thunderbolt high flow cats. Custom y pipe to magnaflow exhaust -- sounds incredible. Spark plugs were replaced, alternator and started were rebuilt by 14.2 charging in Frostburg ( the starters in these would be horrible to replace with the engine in the truck), new serpentine belt, yellow top optima battery at this time as well. Thermostat, water pump, radiator and all hoses have also been replaced. All other accessories were replaced with the low mileage ones because this was a complete engine. --Drive train had 42000 and some change miles on it, it has been in the truck about 7000 miles so it is right around 50,000 miles, again, with documentation. Front differential and rear end rebuilt by Orlo Inc in somerset, pa(known around here for his indestructible pulling truck rear ends) Also, the pressure relief valve was replaced at this time (the thing that causes all of the titan rear ends to blow) -- less than 3000 miles ago Fabtech long spindle suspension overhauled by Global Truck outfitters - added two leafs to the rear for added towing capacity (titans sag without this), upgraded to billstein front struts and new fabtech shocks (less than 3000 miles) New tires with about 3200 miles on them, i had beads put in them to automatically balance the tires if the treads were to pick up mud or snow, this is supposed to make the tires wear more evenly and last long. however, they do shake a little under 20 mph. Front clip was changed out from painted clip to chrome clip, i removed a bug guard that was there hiding some small dings in the hood and had it all fixed, along with the rest of the body and an all over paint job done. Go to motometal951.com and visit the gallery to see this truck before the clip change -- it is this truck, not one that looks like it - picture was submitted to motometal when lift wheels and tires were originally done and they have had it on their site ever since. I had hit a deer in the front and then had a minor accident with a trailer to the rear bumper/bedside.. other side of the bed had been previously repaired, so I had a new bed put on so that the bed wasn't full of bondo. I replaced the factory painted bumper with a chrome one with new pads and lights at that time. The titan has a sound system which includes boston acoustic components, two 10'' rockford power dvcs and a punch p400 amp. it will ring your ears, and if you know anything about rockford subs, there is plenty of room to grow - it has a little over 200 true watts pushing the subs - they can handle 500 watts each.. but in my opinion, its loud enough. - all done professionally by sound gallery in piedmont, wv. Front hubs and tie rod ends replaced about 3100 miles ago The power steering rack was replaced around 105000 miles. Transmission mount was replaced around 15000 miles ago This truck has been meticulously maintained - all scheduled maintenance, along with all major repairs, done professionally by red ridge auto here in frostburg. If there was an issue with it, it was addressed immediately. If there was a goodie to buy to upgrade it, i bought it. This has been my personal truck for the past 8 year, i purchased it with 51132 miles on it. Today, with all the new components, it actually has less miles on it than the day I bought it. I would have never dreamed I would sell this thing as much as Ive enjoyed it over the years, but I produce large quantities of BioDiesel and my cost to operate a diesel vehicle is almost nothing. SO, I have decided to sell off all of my gas toys ( check my other listings) and only run diesel vehicles from here on. I encourage everyone to ask question, and if you're close, come see this thing. It is absolutely beautiful, and you will want it if you see it in person. Come check it over, feel free to bring a mechanic. I have this listed for sale locally, so i reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally first, so If you want it - BUY IT NOW - This is not a distress sale, so don't come with a low ball offer because I only half want to sell this and I will refuse it. This is one tough rig for the money. You can not build this for what I have my reserve listed, trust me, I built this one and have a lot lot more in it than what i'm asking. Keep in mind this is a 2004, there will be small defects here and there, a rock chip here, a blemish here, but nothing major anywhere on this truck. It is originally a texas truck, I had it undercoated in texas at the dealership before I had it shipped here because it looked brand new underneath and had never seen road salt. It is VERY CLEAN, and I cannot stress that enough.. You will not find one cleaner for the money and you will not be disappointed with this one if you buy it. I have over 100 pictures but ebay now only allows you to list 24????? so feel free to ask for more, email me a phone number and I can text them to you easier than sending them on here. |

2013 Nissan Juke Nismo is the runabout we've always wanted
Thu, 07 Feb 2013The 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo has officially bowed at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. Wearing a full body kit that serves up 37-percent more downforce than the standard front and rear fascias, the tuned hatchback also comes equipped with larger 18-inch wheels and a lowered suspension. Up front, LED daytime running lights join the festivities as well as contrasting side-view mirror covers and wider fender flares. Inside, buyers can expect to find a new sports steering wheel clad in Alcantara, as well as a set of Nismo seats stitched with red accents.
Nismo also cranked up the power on the Juke's turbocharged direct-injection 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The Juke Nismo delivers 197 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, compared to the 188 hp and 177 lb-ft available in stock configuration. Buyers can have the engine with either a six-speed manual transmission or CVT gearbox, and the Juke Nismo can also be had with either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. Check out the full press release below for more information.
Nissan Leaf sales up again in February, Chevy Volt dips deeper
Mon, Mar 3 2014Nissan managed to buck the industry's overall trend of lower sales in February with double-digit growth throughout its lineup. That includes a 12th month of record sales for the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, with the year-over-year numbers up more than a skosh. The February ledger for the Chevy Volt looked much worse, falling 25.6 percent from February 2013 down to 1,210 units. With 1,425 Leafs sold, Nissan came away the winner in a head-to-head competition between these the two early plug-in vehicles for the fourth month in a row. Nissan expects the Leaf's sales momentum continue in March. February Leaf sales were up 118.2 percent, making 2014 the car's best February ever. The car was most popular in San Francisco, CA and Atlanta, GA, two places where the the brutal winter cold that struck most of the country had a limited effect. Nissan said that other markets with notable Leaf sales growth were Honolulu, HI, Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX and Denver, CO. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, said in a statement that Nissan, "amped up advertising in the latter half of February, which already has resulted in an uptick in sales and a significant increase in shopping traffic. We expect to see that momentum continue in March." The Volt retains an overall sales lead against the Leaf, but Chevy's calendar year-to-date sales numbers are down 23.1 percent so far in 2014. Overall, Chevy's sales calendar YTD numbers were down just 7.7 percent, so the Volt is performing below average. As always, we will have a more complete report of last month's green car sales up in short order. Green GM Nissan Electric Hybrid PHEV ev sales
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
