I purchased this car in 2007 from a dealership in the Milwaukee area.  I believe I am the 2nd owner.  The vehicle has a clear title.  This has been one of the best cars I've ever owned.  It's been a reliable vehicle continuously and has not had any major issues since I've owned it.  It's been well-maintained with regular oil changes.  The exterior does have some rust on the edges of the driver side doors as well as a small area on the hood edge.  A copy of records of work I've had done on the vehicle will be included.  All 4 tires are new.   The vertical crack on the passenger side windshield starts at the base of the window near the windshield wipers and extends about 1/2 way up the window.     The vehicle has always passed emissions tests without issue.  It does need a muffler sleeve - the clamp is missing.  The Nissan Maxima apparently has a common issue with the radiator tie bar or support deteriorating.  I have tried to show this in the last photo of the listing.  I am not sure this vehicle is safe to drive until this part is replaced.  We have found some information about how to replace it on the internet and though the part is under $100 - it is too involved for us to do ourselves.  We have not checked into having a shop do the work.  There are no other issues that I know of with this car.  The air and heater work great.  Heated seats on the passenger and driver side makes driving in winter months much easier.   The car has never been in an accident.  The interior is in overall very good condition - there are some stains on the carpet (original floor mats are included front and back).  The center console between the driver seat and passenger side holds 2 drinks and originally had a cover which was broken and removed.  There is some slight wear to the rear leather seats but overall there are no major tears, rips or stains other than on the front armrest between the driver and passenger seats.   It does have a remote key entry/lock and alarm system all intact.  I did check the Kelly Blue Book value and estimate this car to be valued for between $2,500 - $3,000.

Corvette Z06. Nissan GT-R Nismo. Motor Trend Head 2 Head. 'Nuff said.

Wed, Feb 11 2015

Here is a video we've been waiting for, one that will get broadband fiber optic cables glowing like Hooker headers on a dyno. For Episode 62 of Head 2 Head, Motor Trend throws the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 into the bear pit with the latest Nissan GT-R Nismo. What comes out of that is seventeen minutes of don't-look-away video. We're only going to give you the specs. The 3,527-pound Z06 gets on with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 650 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, applied to the wheels via a seven-speed manual transmission. With the Z07 performance package appended it has a front splitter and winglets, and a three-section rear spoiler among its aero aids. The tested model also wore carbon ceramic brakes, which helped push its $89,985 MSRP out to $105,210. The 3,881-pound GT-R Nismo plays the underdog – again – with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 spitting out 600 hp and 481 lb-ft, yoked to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GT-R left its 'performance bargain' days behind years ago, and this top-shelf version starts at $151,585 but has almost everything it can get, so the as-tested price was only a skosh more at $151,880. We're not going to tell you any more than that. Click on the video and let Carlos Lago and his two mean minions tell you a story you won't soon forget. Honda, Nissan and Mazda recalling 3 million vehicles for airbag inflators

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

Three million more vehicles can be added to the worldwide tally to be repaired for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata. Honda, Nissan, and Mazda have all issued recalls to replace the bad part, including about 1.2 million of them in North America. NHTSA has been investigating all three companies, plus Chrysler and Toyota, for potentially affected vehicles.
Honda is recalling roughly 1.02 million Civic, CR-V, Odyssey and Element models In North America, built between April 2000 and October 2002. Mazda needs to repair 14,794 units of the RX-8 and Mazda6, and Nissan has 228,000 vehicles in North America to be fixed.
Chrysler is also starting what it calls a "regional field action" to replace the inflators in the 2006 Dodge Charger, according to a company spokesperson. The company says that it has not yet found the problem in any of its vehicles, but it's being done "out of an abundance of caution." The final number of Chargers affected will be announced later this week.

Roller coaster or racecar, which pulls more Gs?

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

Looking for a thrill? You're not the only one. You'll find kindred spirits at airfields going up for a skydive, atop bridges and towers with bungees attached to their feet and standing in line for roller coasters at the local amusement park. But you'll also find them in the paddock at the racing circuit.
So what's the commonality? G-force. It's like gravity, only in each of these cases, it's experienced by human invention. But which activity subjects your body to the greatest amount of g-force? That's what Nissan set to find out.
Before putting them back in the cockpit, Nismo sent out two of its young hot-shoes - Jann Mardenborough and Mark Shulzhitskiy - to an amusement park in the UK with a camera and a g-force meter to find out if any of the coasters could produce as much lateral gravitational force as an LMP2 racing car. See what they found in the pair of videos, below.
