2005 Nissan Altima 2.5s Great Condition Sirius Satellite Radio No Reserve on 2040-cars

NO RESERVE - The highest bidder at the end of the auction will get the car.
Up for sale is my daily driver 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S in great condition. I have owned the car for a little over 2 years and have used it to drive to work and back each day (100 miles round trip). The car is in great condition and has treated me very well over the years. I just recently purchased another daily driver and it is time to sell the Altima. I keep the oil changed every 3000 miles, and just had a tune up completed 6000 miles ago (plugs, wires, boots, etc.). The car gets between 26-28 mpg each fill up which can be a real money saver when it comes to buying gas, it will run roughly 400 miles on a full tank. All features of the car work as they should. Cold A/C, heat blows hot. Car has keyless entry and I have both factory keys that come with the car. I have had Sirius Satellite Radio added to the car and it will come with the car as well. The receiver is removable and can be used to get satellite radio in other locations as well. The tires have less than 8000 miles on them, and were added in April 2013. Take a look at the pictures for evidence of the great condition of the car. Please email me with any questions that you may have, or if you would like to make an offer on the car. The winning bidder will be responsible for shipping or picking the car up. I will be happy to meet the winning bidder within a reasonable distance and help in any way that I can. If any perspective buyer is interested in coming by to inspect the car before the auction ends, let me know and we can set up a time to do so. I have the clear title in hand and require confirmation of full payment before signing title over to new owner. I require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end in order to hold the vehicle. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally as well. |

Nissan ex-Chairman Carlos Ghosn wins release from jail
Tue, Mar 5 2019TOKYO — The Tokyo District Court approved the release of former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn on bail of 1 billion yen ($8.9 million) on Tuesday, although the end of his four months of detention in Japan was delayed when prosecutors appealed that decision. Prosecutors filed their objection to Ghosn's release within hours of the announcement he was going to be granted bail. But their appeal was rejected by the court, paving the way for his release. A lawyer for Ghosn said he would not be able to leave the Tokyo Detention Center until Wednesday at the earliest, because bail procedures can't be done at night. The acceptance of Ghosn's request for bail, his third, came a day after the lawyer, Junichiro Hironaka, said he was confident the auto executive would gain his release. Hironaka, who recently joined Ghosn's defense team, is famous for winning acquittals in Japan, a nation where the conviction rate is 99 percent. Hironaka said Monday that he had offered new ways to monitor Ghosn after his release, such as camera surveillance. Hironaka also questioned the grounds for Ghosn's arrest, calling the case "very peculiar," and suggesting it could have been dealt with as an internal company matter. He welcomed the decision, telling reporters: "It was good we proposed concrete ways showing how he would not tamper with evidence or try to flee." The 1 billion yen bail set by the court was relatively high but not the highest ever in Japan. Among the conditions for Ghosn's release were restrictions on where he can live, a ban on foreign travel and other promises not to tamper with evidence or try to flee, the court said. The former head of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Motors alliance has been detained since he was arrested on Nov. 19. He says he is innocent of charges of falsifying financial information and of breach of trust. In Japan, suspects are routinely detained for months, often until their trials start. That's especially true of those who insist on their innocence. Prosecutors say suspects may tamper with evidence and shouldn't be released. Two previous requests submitted by his legal team were denied. His previous defense lawyer, Motonari Ohtsuru, had said Ghosn's release might not come for months. Hironaka is among many critics of the Japanese justice system who say such lengthy detentions of suspects are unfair.
Nissan New Micra headed for Canadian showroom after Montreal reveal?
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Fresh off news that Mitsubishi is bringing a sedan version of its Mirage, called the G4, to this month's Montreal Auto Show, we now believe that another small car will be debuting for our small-car-loving friends to the north. Word is that Nissan will be bringing its compact New Micra to the Canadian show, as well. Slotting in just below the Versa Note hatchback in terms of both size and price, the Montreal debut should be followed up with an on-sale date in short order.
We've been hearing rumors that the New Micra would end up in Canadian dealerships for some time. At every turn, however, we've also heard that the Franco-Japanese hatch is not intended for sale in the US, and nothing in this latest report from Autos.ca would seem to indicate otherwise. As Autoblog sources are quick to point out, Nissan already has one of the least-expensive offerings in the US, the $11,990 Versa Sedan, and the Japanese automaker just doesn't see room underneath it for another model. Sorry, Yank.
Nissan Leaf all-electric taxis start pilot program in NYC [w/video]
Tue, 23 Apr 2013When New York City picked the Nissan NV200 as its Taxi of Tomorrow, many were surprised that the vehicle wasn't electric, or even a hybrid for that matter. With NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg on hand, Nissan celebrated Earth Day on Monday by unveiling a pilot program of electric taxis for the city consisting of six 2013 Nissan Leaf EVs, which the mayor referred to as the "taxi of the day after tomorrow."
This pilot program is aimed to show how EVs can operate as taxi cabs, and Mayor Bloomberg said that New York City hopes to have a third of its taxi fleet electrified by 2020. In addition to the six cars, Nissan has also provided three quick chargers around Manhattan, allowing the Leafs to get an 80-percent recharge in just 30 minutes.
According to David Yassky, commissioner of the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission, "What we have to do now is figure out how you integrate the charging of an electric vehicle into the duty of a taxi cab."
