Thanks for viewing this very rare 40th Anniversary Edition Nissan 370z. Only 1,000 of the 40th Anniversary were
built, so this is a very unique sports car that you probably won't see another of in your city.

Exclusives for 40th Anniversary Edition (you won't see these on other Z's):

*Graphite Metal exterior paint color.
*Graphite Metal sport edition wheels to match the body.
*Red seats and red door panel inserts; seatback embroidered w/ "40th Anniversary."
*Red brake calipers
*Engine Strut Tower/Brace 40th Anniversary plaque.
*Interior and exterior 40th Anniversary badging.
*40th Anniversary Car Cover (included, not pictured).
*40th Anniversary floormats

This Z includes the Sport Package. Highlights are:

*19" Rays super lightweight forged alloy wheels.
*SynchroRev match on manual transmission.
*Front chin spoiler, rear spoiler.

Other important features:

*Bose premium audio, 8 speakers including subwoofers (all stock).
*Bluetooth hands free calling and voice control.
*Rear view mirror - auto dimming, home link garage door control.
*4-way power seats.
*Heated bucket seats
*Steering wheel controls: Cruise, radio source and volume, phone/voice controls.
*Seats: Leather & Suede in 40th Anniversary Red.
*6-disc CD changer, XM satellite radio.

This Z has always had premium gasoline and synthetic oil, as recommended by Nissan. The front brakes are only 1
month old and tires are in good condition. The inside, outside and engine compartment were all professionally
detailed July 20th, including a wax. The entire vehicle is stock; no engine or exhaust modifications have been done
and all paint is factory.

As seen in one of the pictures, a Passport radar detector is mounted from the mirror. While the detector itself is
not included with the sale, the mount will be left attached to the mirror for in possible interest for the next
owner. Also, the power is also provided at the mirror mount area and a control wire is ran through the trim of the
vehicle (unseen) and discreetly placed between the seat heaters buttons (as seen in another picture). This mount,
power wire and control wiring/buttons will all be left as-is. The install is very clean and a great benefit to an
Escort Passport owner.

Also included in the sale is a window mounted dash cam, which is behind the rear view camera. Again, the install is
very clean and cannot be seen from either the driver or passenger. No power wires can be seen either. If you choose
to watch any video recorded, just remove the SD card. Video recorded is also tracked by GPS and displays location
on a map while watching video.

Nissan Leaf sales up again in February, Chevy Volt dips deeper

Mon, Mar 3 2014

Nissan managed to buck the industry's overall trend of lower sales in February with double-digit growth throughout its lineup. That includes a 12th month of record sales for the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, with the year-over-year numbers up more than a skosh. The February ledger for the Chevy Volt looked much worse, falling 25.6 percent from February 2013 down to 1,210 units. With 1,425 Leafs sold, Nissan came away the winner in a head-to-head competition between these the two early plug-in vehicles for the fourth month in a row. Nissan expects the Leaf's sales momentum continue in March. February Leaf sales were up 118.2 percent, making 2014 the car's best February ever. The car was most popular in San Francisco, CA and Atlanta, GA, two places where the the brutal winter cold that struck most of the country had a limited effect. Nissan said that other markets with notable Leaf sales growth were Honolulu, HI, Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX and Denver, CO. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of EV sales and marketing, said in a statement that Nissan, "amped up advertising in the latter half of February, which already has resulted in an uptick in sales and a significant increase in shopping traffic. We expect to see that momentum continue in March." The Volt retains an overall sales lead against the Leaf, but Chevy's calendar year-to-date sales numbers are down 23.1 percent so far in 2014. Overall, Chevy's sales calendar YTD numbers were down just 7.7 percent, so the Volt is performing below average. As always, we will have a more complete report of last month's green car sales up in short order. Green GM Nissan Electric Hybrid PHEV ev sales

Nissan recalling 13k Versa Note hatchbacks

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Nissan is recalling 13,000 of its new 2014 Versa Note hatchbacks due to an issue with various bolts used to assemble the vehicle. Considering the Versa Note was only recently put on sale, this news must be driving Nissan nuts (we couldn't resist), but presumably the lion's share of these vehicles are still at dealerships.
According to a report from The Detroit News, there are two separate issues. The first has to do with the latches for the rear seats, which include bolts that may not be strong enough to keep the seats upright in the event of a crash. The second relates to the bolts that attach the body to the undercarriage. Apparently they may not have been tightened properly, and in rare cases may be missing altogether. No injuries or accidents have been reported from either issue.
Owners are being told to report to dealers for the fixes, with notifications coming in mid-August.

DC fast charging not as damaging to EV batteries as expected

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As convenient as DC fast charging is, there have been lots of warnings that repeated dumping of so many electrons into an electric vehicle's battery pack in such a short time would reduce the battery's life. While everyone agrees that DC fast charging does have some effect on battery life, it may not be as bad as previously expected. Over on SimanaitisSays, Dennis Simanaitis, writes about a recent presentation by Matt Shirk of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) called DC Fast, Wireless, And Conductive Charging Evaluation Projects (PDF) that describes an ongoing test of four 2012 Nissan Leaf EVs that are being charged in two pairs of two. One pair only recharges from 50-kW DC fast chargers, which the other two sip from 3.3-kW Level 2 chargers exclusively. Otherwise, the cars are operated pretty much the same: climate is automatically set to 72 degrees, are driven on public roads around Phoenix, AZ and have the same set of dedicated drivers is rotated through the four cars. "Degradation depends more on the miles traveled than on the nature of recharging." What's most interesting are the charts on page seven of Shirk's presentation (click the image above to enlarge), which show the energy capacity of each of the four vehicles. When they were new, the four batteries were each tested to measure their energy capacity and given a 0 capacity loss baseline. They were then tested at 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 40,000 miles, and at each point, the DC-only EVs had roughly the same amount of battery loss as the Level 2 test subjects. The DC cars did lose a bit more at each test, but only around a 25-percent overall loss after 40k, compared to 23 percent for the Level 2 cars. Simanaitis' takeaway is that, "INL data suggest that the amount of degradation depends more on the miles traveled than on the nature of recharging." The tests are part of the INLs' Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity work and a final report is forthcoming. These initial numbers from IPL do mesh with other research into DC fast charging, though. Mitsubishi said daily fast charging wouldn't really hurt the battery in the i-MiEV and MIT tests of a Fisker Karma battery showed just 10-percent loss over 1,500 rapid charge-discharge cycles.
