1988 Nissan 300ZX Coupe Up for auction a well kept 88 Nissan 300zx I nice adult owned UN MOLESTED Nissan Muscle car from the 80s era. Check out our feedback - feel comfortable buying from someone like us with GREAT large pics in our ads and GREAT FEEDBACK. Non turbo models still had plenty of power and for the most part, more reliable too. the car has always been in Az or Ca and has 0 rust Same last owner for about the last 15 yrs was an engineer for Raytheon who kept the car cleaner then most this age. Paint best I can tell is all original - the worst part is the hood and headlight bonnets, where clear coat is coming off. Maybe it was repainted at one time from age, not sure. Previous owners claim never any accidents and its all original sheetmetal. If you repainted the hood area to match you could easily drive the car as a survivor with little investment. DRIVETRAIN: Original VG30 V6 runs well and with no wierd sounds or smoke issues. Tbelt was done about 40k ago. Car just passed Az emissions too. Car comes with receipts from the last 13+ yrs of any work thats been done to it ie: alternator, water pumps etc. Oil changes done every 3k miles or less. Tires are getting old (215-65-15) so those youll want to change soon, but car still retains the stock 15" Turbo style alloy rims. Trans and clutch feel good too. INTERIOR: Super clean and well kept is in better shape then you may expect. Even for a 26 yr old car, its in nice shape. Dash has no cracks up top, and stock radio still working and intact. Carpet in the back has a few dirty spots, but again this would be a simple low cost fix if you where restoring the car. All the power options work, windows, seats etc. Dont expect NEW, but check out the pics, the wear and tear on this car is moderate for its age. Owner is a Non smoker too. We just redid the window tint too last yr. A/C has been converted to R134 and works great. SUSPENSION: All stock original down to the OE alloy rims Feels good, and some shocks where replaced but thats about all. So Im sure it will need some suspension bushings replaced soon. Once in a while you can hear a little noise coming from the front end. Tire wear is actually good and normal which is a good sign. Nothing majorily wrong to report at all. Im sure just a good set of new quality tires on the car would make a world of difference. (We also are a tire dealer, so if you want a new set of tires installed on the car before taking delivery, let us know what you want and we can price it out for you, installed.) BODY: Really nice shape for its age. A few small dents and dings here and there, but some are so small they are hard to see in the pics. Air damn is in good shape, where most are torn or ripped off. Hood and trunk struts work well. T Tops do not leak and overall, this is a great Driver as is or would be an easy car to restore back to original. DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE A REAL BUYER IF YOU HAVE LOW FEEDBACK AND ARE BIDDING PLEASE EMAIL US TO LET US KNOW YOU ARE LEGIT. NO EMAIL AND WE CAN CANCEL YOUR BID EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE THE PICS BELOW SPEAK VOLUMES but Im sure I may of overlooked some stuff. Check out over 120+ pics below, be patient it may take a minute for them to all load depending on your connection. Reasonable Reserve / which can be lowered too if we want to at anytime during the auction. Bid Early and bid smart so you dont lose out !! Nissan, least profitable Japanese automaker in Q3, stays strong on EVs
Mon, Feb 10 2014Nissan had some not-so-good financial news to report today. Despite a 57-percent net income increase, Nissan was Japan's least-profitable carmaker for the third quarter of last year. A weak yen helped put the company's operating profit below the estimates of financial analysts. In a speech on the financial situation, Nissan corporate vice president Joji Tagawa said "These results, however, do not reflect the full potential of Nissan." Given our focus on expensive electric vehicles, among other things, we wondered how this might affect EVs. One of the financial analysts told Bloomberg that the news is a "crisis" at the company, but the official word is that things are steady as she goes on the EV front. In his speech, Tagawa reaffirmed the company's strong belief in plug-in vehicles, saying that "Nissan's EV strategy will accelerate with the launch in fiscal 2014 of the e-NV200, the second all-electric model available globally." That electric van has the potential "to transform emissions among commercial vehicles" and Nissan remains interested in initiatives such as EV carsharing in Japan and the continued deployment of charging infrastructure. The speech transcript is available below. In a statement to AutoblogGreen, Billy Hayes, Nissan's vice president and program director, said that, "Nissan considers zero emission vehicles to be the ultimate solution for realizing sustainable mobility in the future and is strongly committed to EV technologies. Nissan's investment in Leaf and EV technology is positive for the company's business results over the lifecycle, and accelerating sales of Leaf only help to build economies of scale and improve the business model for the technology further." FY13 3Q financial results Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. Joji Tagawa, Corporate Vice President Introduction For the nine-month period, Nissan has made solid progress to improve its business performance. The pro forma nine-month financial results, and particularly those of the third quarter, are up compared to the same period last year, despite intense competition and uncertain economic conditions. These results, however, do not reflect the full potential of Nissan. Looking ahead to the quarter ending March 31, 2014, we expect to continue to improve our business results and as such, we are maintaining our prior profit outlook for the fiscal year.
Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida rules out closer capital ties with Renault
Mon, Dec 2 2019YOKOHAMA — Nissan is committed to its automaking alliance with Renault but will not look to deepen its capital ties with the French automaker any time soon, its new CEO said on Monday. On his first day in the new position, chief executive Makoto Uchida also pledged to repair profitability at Japan's No. 2 automaker and said setting realistic targets would be key toward that goal, as it tries to make a clean break from the leadership of former chairman Carlos Ghosn. "Closer capital ties with Renault are not a focus in the short term," he told reporters. Uchida became CEO of Nissan on Dec. 1, as the car maker tries to recover from a profit slump and draw a line under a year of turmoil after the Ghosn scandal. The ousted chairman is fighting financial misconduct charges in Japan. One of the new CEO's big tasks is to salvage ties with Renault, which have deteriorated since Ghosn's ouster as chairman of both companies. Renault holds a 43.4% stake in Nissan after it saved the Japanese automaker from financial ruin two decades ago, and has pushed for the two companies to merge. In rejecting a notion of a merger with Renault, Uchida, 53, echoes his predecessor Hiroto Saikawa, who stepped down in September. He added that the alliance must re-think how it can serve all of its three members, which also includes Mitsubishi Motors. "The alliance has to benefit each of its partners in terms of revenue and profit," he said. "We need to re-evaluate what has worked and what hasn't worked in the alliance in the past few years." The CEO called for Nissan to set "challenging but achievable" targets, adding that this and the launch of more new car models and vehicle technologies would be key to its financial recovery. Nissan is bracing for its lowest annual profit in 11 years and has slashed its dividend by 65%. Its struggles come at a time when car companies desperately need scale to keep up with sweeping technological changes like electric vehicles and ride-hailing. "Somewhere along the way we created a culture of setting targets which could not be achieved," Uchida said, adding that this had resulted in a focus on short-term results. "Years of this had led Nissan to its current "difficult situation," he said, using heavy vehicle discounting in the U.S. market as an example of how aggressive sales targets to grow market share had deteriorated the company's brand.
Nissan Canada offers box-fresh racecar for $19,998 [w/video]
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Nissan is seriously emphasizing its commitment to motorsports with projects like next year's GT-R LM endurance racer at Le Mans and the company's participation with GT Academy. At least in Canada, the automaker is adding another opportunity to get people onto the track with the new Nissan Micra Cup one-make race series. Sure, the Micra might not as quick as a GT-R, but this series offers Canadians a chance to start racing for a reasonable price. Nissan claims the events have "the lowest running cost of any Canadian series," and we can't think of a cheaper turnkey new racecar in all of North America.
The cars are all based on the not-for-US Micra 1.6 S M/T model with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine making 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque and a five-speed manual gearbox. The only real performance upgrades are a Nismo suspension kit, new exhaust, improved brake pads and sticky Pirelli tires. For added safety, the interior is entirely stripped out and is replaced with a full roll cage with a driver protection net, FIA-approved racing seat with five-point harness, fire extinguisher and front and rear tow hooks. The whole, race-ready package will set competitors back $19,998 Canadian dollars before taxes.
The inaugural Micra Cup series begins in May 2015, and the first season is exclusively taking place in Quebec, with the promise of moving to other provinces if it's a success. Each event includes a half hour of practice, a half hour of qualifying and a pair of half-hour races. Nissan is estimating impressive fields of over 25 cars of competitors.
