FOR SALE A 1985 NISSAN 300ZX 2+2 129K MILES I HAVE OWNED ABOUT 2 YEARS. AT THAT TIME , IT RECEIVED A TUNE-UP, NEW FRONT EXHAUST PIPE, VALVE COVER GASKETS, FUEL INJECTOR CLIPS, HEADLIGHT , A REPLACEMENT TIRE AND BRAKE PADS. THE TIRES HAVE TIGER PAWS ON ONE SIDE AND CONTINENTAL ON THE OTHER AND HAS CURRENT INSPECTIONS. THESE ITEMS WERE NOT BAD INDIVIDUALLY BUT IN ALL SEEMED TO BE KEEPING A REALLY GOOD CAR FROM BEING BACK ON THE ROAD. FOR A NEARLY 30-YEAR OLD VEHICLE THE CAR LOOKS AND RUNS VERY STRONG AND IT IS TIME FOR ME TO PART WITH THIS GORGEOUS Z31 BODY STYLE DUE TO OTHER PROJECTS. ON THE INTERIOR THE PASSENGER SEAT IS SEPARATED BUT NOT TORN. THE HEAT WORKS BUT THE A/C AND CRUISE CONTROL DO NOT. I HAD THE DIGITAL DASH RE-DONE ALSO AT THE TIME BUT NOT THE POWER SUPPLY. IT WORKS MOST OF THE TIME AND THE FUEL GAUGE WILL USUALLY COME ON-FLIP ON FOR A LITTLE BIT ENOUGH FOR ONE TO SEE IT. OTHERWISE THE ODOMETER WORKS AND THE VOICE ACTIVATED WARNING SYSTEM WORKS AND THE COMPASS.. THE STEREO WORKS ALONG WITH THE ANTENNA BUT NOT THEW CASSETTE. I ONLY DRIVE THE CAR 1-2 DAYS PER WEEK, OTHERWISE IT IS ALWAYS INSIDE. THERE ARE A FEW RUST SPOTS ON THE EXTERIOR AND UNDERNEATH BUT SMALL AND I JUST SANDED THEM DOWN FOR THE TIME BEING. THE PAINT SHOWS VERY NICELY AND THERE IS JUST A COUPLE HARDLY NOTICEABLE SCRATCHES OR ANYTHING ELSE. THE TOP OF HOOD HAS A LITTLE BIT OF PAINT FADE. THE CAR IS RUNNING AND DRIVING FINE, BUT MY MECHANIC ADVISED KEEPING AN EYE ON THE STEERING FLUID LEVEL AND THE CLUTCH. I HAVE ONLY BEEN CAUGHT IN THE RAIN A COUPLE TIMES AND THE T-TOP ON DRIVER'S SIDE DID GET SOME DROPS COMING THROUGH. IF I WERE TO KEEP I'D REPLACE THOSE GASKETS, PAINT THE HOOD OR WHOLE CAR, REPLACE CLUTCH(THEY'RE VERY LOW COST ON EBAY) AND MAYBE LOOK INTO THE A/C. THE CAR IS DEPENDABLE, LOWER MILEAGE AND VERY NICE TO DRIVE AROUND WITH A NICE EURO GROWLY SOUND TO IT. SELLS AS IS/WHERE IS (PHILADELPHIA)

Next Nissan Rogue flaunts its new look
Fri, 14 Jun 2013Remember last April, when Nissan told us it would be launching five new models over the course of 15 months? Well, we've seen the Altima, Pathfinder, Sentra and Versa Note, so that magical fifth model has to be the new Rogue, which our spy photographers recently caught testing. Despite looking like a hodge-podge of black duct tape and garbage bags, we can clearly see that the new Rogue takes a lot of its styling cues from the Hi-Cross concept that Nissan showed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. And that's fine - we found that CUV concept to be a decidedly handsome thing, and certainly more attractive than the weird little Rogue that currently roams the streets.
Details surrounding the next Rogue are still very unclear, though our spies suggest that it could be powered by a new 1.2-liter supercharged four-cylinder engine, good for something like 113 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. We'll see about that, since those numbers represent a drastic drop in power versus the current Rogue - to the tune of 57 hp and 35 lb-ft. A diesel engine for other markets is expected to be on offer, and a plug-in hybrid version is also rumored to be in the works, though that won't show up at the vehicle's initial launch.
If Nissan sticks to its plan of showing these five new models in the course of 15 months, that means we should see the Rogue in July. Of course, since things don't always go as planned, it could be many more months before all that camouflage is taken away.
'Charge lock' on Nissan Leaf doesn't actually prevent cable theft
Thu, Oct 2 2014Is it a feature or a bug? According to AutoblogGreen reader Francois Viau, the locking mechanism that holds the 110V trickle charge cable to his Nissan Leaf is too weak, and that's a problem. That's because while he thought the cable was locked to his car during a charge session at work, someone stole the cable, and it cost him $2,200 to replace it (in Canadian dollars, from the Nissan dealer). To see just how easy it is to unlock the mechanism, Viau had a "small assistant" jimmy it open with a plastic comb on video (watch it below). "The charge lock feature on Nissan Leaf is not intended to prevent theft of the charging cordset." – Brian Brockman We wondered if this was a common problem and, through the magic of Facebook, we had AutoblogGreen reader Phil Tipper try it out on his 2013 SL Leaf. He said he used an insulated handle flat screwdriver and was not able to defeat the lock. "I admit that I didn't want to force the mechanism for fear of breaking it, it didn't look like that kid used much force at all," he said. "Maybe this guy's mechanism was damaged in the theft and now it's very easy to trip the lock out of the way." Fifty percent of a sample size of two isn't a reliable metric, but if you're worried about locking your cable in place, you can see some of Viau's anti-theft solutions here (in French, with pictures). Turns out, though, that the white plastic bit that prevents the cable handle from working during a charge isn't really an anti-theft device. Brian Brockman, senior manager of corporate communications for Nissan North America, told AutoblogGreen that, "The charge lock feature on Nissan Leaf is not intended to prevent theft of the charging cordset. It is designed to discourage someone from unplugging the vehicle while a charging session is in progress. The trickle charge cable features a small hole in the release button to allow the owner to insert a lock to reduce the chance of theft." So, now you know. This content is hosted by a third party. Angry Nissan Leaf Driver may make 'Rolling Coal' illegal in New Jersey
Mon, Aug 11 2014It's always a few bad apples who ruin polluting just for fun for the rest of us. That time-honored American tradition of being rude for laughs, otherwise known as 'rolling coal,' might become illegal in New Jersey, if a Nissan Leaf-driving politician gets his way. The politician in question is State Assemblyman Tim Eustace (D-Bergen), who was purposefully hit by a blast of dark smoke recently while driving his Leaf on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to NJ.com. This personal experience of what he called "just youthful ignorance" is encouraging him to submit a bill (A3583), which, "Prohibits retrofitting diesel-powered vehicles to increase particulate emissions for the purpose of 'coal rolling'; prohibits the practice of 'coal rolling.'" If you're caught violating the law, you would be hit with a fine from the state Department of Environmental Protection. Of course, the Feds say it is already illegal to modify an exhaust system in a way that allows coal rolling. Rolling coal has become a bit of a meme recently, with videos of laughing truck drivers spewing their modified exhaust pipes at green cars, pedestrians and bikers around the country. Eustace told NJ.com that, "People had been telling this has been going on, but I hadn't seen it. I was surprised to experience it myself." Perhaps a coal roller in New Jersey will be surprised, too, when the first big fine hits.
