NEW INFO:

The car has been "SMOGGED" (California buyers) and I have all the necessary paperwork.  Additionally, I recently had the Z dyno tuned at Driven Authority (Dyno chart is available).  It was upgraded to a Nis-Tune program (used to be Jim Wolf program), and conservatively tuned.

I have owned this amazing car for over 15 years.  In fact, part of my personal identity is attached to this Z, and I will be greatly saddened when it is no longer nestled snuggly in my garage.  However, life is unpredictable, and for personal reasons, I am posting it for sale.  A rough estimate on money spent boggles the mind...somewhere between $50K -$60K (all in over 15+ years).  Make no mistake, this is one of the cleanest, most tastefully modded Twin Turbo's you will ever see.  The car is scary fast and should not be purchased by a novice driver.  It handles incredibly and will rip your face off under braking.  I drive the car appx. 500 miles per year (if that), approximately 5K miles put on the new motor since it was fully built and installed.  When I do drive it, it performs flawlessly, and the perspective buyer should have peace of mind that it will do the same for them (assuming they don't abuse/neglect it).  I have provided a comprehensive list of modifications and I will be available to answer any/all questions.

The photo's should give you an idea of how immaculate the Z is...but they still don't do it justice. It is the first year of this body style and I know that it will be a true collectable someday.  It was featured in the Twinturbo.net 2012 catalog (as voted by fellow Z enthusiaists nationwide).  I truly hope that my Z finds a new home with a fellow enthusiast...someone who can truly appreciate it as much as I have over the last 15 years.  The reserve is set at $15K, a sacrifice considering how much time and money I have invested into this amazing car.  I have listed it twice before and the bid reached $14,100 & $14,300...(FYI) that price will not get you the Z.  The reserve is set at $15K...period.  Whoever decides to pull the trigger on this Z will NOT be disappointed...I promise that.

If you would like to schedule an appointment to view the Z, or you have additional questions or concerns, I can be reached via cell @(916)934-9222.  Best Regards, -Josh

'Car Wars' says Ford, Honda to pick up share, Fiat-Chrysler ambitions downplayed

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Don't look for a tremendous shifts in automotive market share over the next three years because it might not be coming. That's at least according to the annual Car Wars report by John Murphy, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research.
In the report's analysis of automakers' market share from 2013 to 2017, it predicts only small changes among the major companies. Ford and Honda see the biggest positive effect with an estimated 0.5 percent increase in their shares over the next three years; to 16.2 percent and 10.3 percent respectively. On the flip side, European automakers and Nissan are expected to lose 0.2 percent each to fall to 8.3 percent and 7.8 percent each respectively. The rest of the industry is predicted to hold steady as it is now.
The biggest loser in that prediction might be Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. The report certainly throws a wet blanket on its plan for significant gains in market share. Murphy told The Detroit News that the company's goal was "almost unattainable."

Pretty scenery alert: Nissan Leaf drives up a volcano on Maui

Fri, Apr 11 2014

Gravity taketh away but gravity giveth back, Nissan is trying to teach all of us. The Japanese automaker has posted a two-minute video about Maui resident Neil Wagner using his Nissan Leaf to catch the legendary sunrise over the volcano in Haleakala National Park. After climbing the more-than-10,000-foot elevation, the Leaf is shown having lost about 84 percent of its usable battery capacity. The finer point, though, is that electric vehicles have a regenerative braking system, meaning that the downhill ride and all of its switchbacks actually replenish battery capacity. Of course, the video didn't show exactly how much of that capacity was replenished, but the point is well-made, and with really cool scenery. Sales for the Leaf have already been strong this year. Through the first three months of the year, Nissan boosted sales 46 percent from 2013 numbers up to 5,184 units. This is after more than doubling sales last year to 22,610 units. And, for anyone curious, there are six publicly-accessible plug-in vehicle charging stations in Kahului and another eight in Lahaina, two of Maui's largest cities, according to the US Department of Energy. We're pretty sure that Mr. Wagner already knows that but we're going to take notes in case we need to make the sunrise drive one day. For now, we're going to check out Nissan's two-minute video below one more time. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
