Up for sale is my pride and joy. It breaks my heart that I have to list this car for sale, but having just recently bought a house and a new winter vehicle, and about to have a baby I find myself in serious need of some money. That being said, up for sale is my 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, 5-speed, 135,000 miles, a very rare car in New England. I have put a ton of work and money into this car in the 6 years I've owned it. It runs strong and handles like its on rails. All the work during my ownership was done by me, a former Nissan certified technician, so it's all done right.
Maintenance work I've done: -includes factory service manual -full synthetic oil changes every 3000 miles, no matter what -full 120k service done at 134,000 miles, including timing belt, all new rollers, new tensioner, new crank timing gear, new crank woodruf keys, new front crank and cam seals, and upgraded Nismo thermostat -new rear main seal -resealed valve covers and replaced valve cover gaskets -new Nissan OEM spark plugs -new Nissan OEM coil packs -new Nissan OEM engine wiring harness -all new fuel lines every year -new Nissan OEM rear wheel bearings -new Nissan OEM rear wheel seals -new Nissan OEM drivers window regulator -all new exhaust seals -new clutch fork -full synthetic transmission oil change last year -new Nissan OEM drive shaft carrier bearing -new idle air control valve -new alternator -new upgraded silicone PCV hoses and IACV hoses -new power steering rack -several new fuel injectors -tires on the car are Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs and have less than 1000 miles on them Upgrades I've done (the fun part): -new Pioneer head unit DEH-P9400BH, with bluetooth -new front door speakers by Kicker -new rear panel speakers by Infinity -old Sony Xplod 800w amp and 12 inch sub in box that came out of my old car -hardwired radar detector, turns on with the car -HKS type 0 turbo timer, hidden in plain sight -car color matched shift and parking brake boots -Vitek Performance diamond plate floor mats ^I would like to mention that even with all of this inside the car, it still retains a very factory appearance internally^ -HKS Twin Power DLI ignition booster, hardwired into engine harness -Stillen pop-charger with K&N air filter -Stillen front strut tower brace -Z1 brake master cylinder brace -front and rear Skyline brake calipers -front and rear Stillen cross drilled rotors -Hawk HPS brake pads -Energy Suspension front and rear sway bar bushings -Powertrix adjustable tension rods -Powertrix adjustable front and rear camber arms -Powertrix SS coilovers with 6k/7k springs -SPL rear eccentric lock out kit -full HICAS delete with Driftworks rear HICAS lockout and NA pump conversion -full 2.5 inch turbo back stainless exhaust including divorced downpipes, uncatalyzed test pipes, unresonated x pipe and tail pipes with Greddy mufflers -Stillen silicone charge pipes -XTD Stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel -Stillen front clear corner lenses -99' JDM spec tail lights and rear center panel, USDM original tails and center panel come with the car as well -TwinZ Design rear air diffuser -custom powdercoated and hand polished ADR M-Sport wheels, 18 inch staggered -EGR delete -AIV delete -Fuel rail bypass -Water line bypass The Bad: The only thing the car really needs is a good polish, the paint in certain spots is a little tired or dull, but a good polish will bring it right back. Also its not painfully in need of a new front bumper, but the bumper is cracked along the lower half, it has been semi repaired. The only other issue is a small tear in the drivers seat from where my belt loops rub getting in. Car has a salvage title, but shows no evidence of ever having been in an accident. That's pretty much all that's wrong with the car though. I have poured my heart and soul into this car, and now its time for me to let it go. My loss is your gain. I have paperwork and receipts for probably 95% of the parts to back up this entire ad. I also have tons of extra parts and a Stillen car cover that are included with the car. I have never added up my receipts, but I have probably put $10,000 in just parts into this car. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, especially since I'm sure there are things I left out that I can't think of right now. Thanks for looking. |

Zombie cars: A dozen discontinued vehicles people still buy new
Thu, Jan 6 2022Car models come and go, but as revealed by monthly sales data, once a car is discontinued, it doesn't just disappear instantly. And in the case of some models, vanishing into obscurity can be a slow, tedious process. That's the case with the 12 cars we have here. All of them have been discontinued, but car companies keep racking up "new" sales with them. There are actually more discontinued cars that are still registering new sales than what we decided to include here. We kept this list to the oldest or otherwise most interesting vehicles still being sold as new, including a supercar. We'll run the list in alphabetical order, starting with *drumroll* ... BMW 6 Series: 55 total sales BMW quietly removed the 6 Series from the U.S. market during the 2019 model year. It had been available in three configurations, a hardtop coupe, a convertible and a sleek four-door coupe-like shape. BMW i8: 18 total sales We've always had a soft spot for the BMW i8, despite the fact that it never quite fit into a particular category. It was sporty, but nowhere near as fast as similarly-priced competitors. It looked very high-tech and boasted a unique carbon fiber chassis design and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but wasn't really designed for maximum efficiency or maximum performance. Still, the in-betweener was very cool to look at and drive, and 18 buyers took one home over the course of 2021. Chevy Impala: 750 total sales The Impala represented classic American tastes at a time when American tastes were shifting away from soft-riding sedans with big interior room and trunk space and into higher-riding crossovers. A total of 750 sales were inked last year. Chrysler 200: 15 total sales The Chrysler 200 was actually a pretty nice sedan, with good looks and decent driving dynamics let down by a lack of roominess, particularly in the back seat. Of course, as we said regarding the Chevy Impala, the number of Americans in the market for sedans is rapidly winding down, and other automakers are following Chrysler's footsteps in canceling their slow-selling four-doors. Even if Chrysler never really found its footing in the ultra-competitive midsize sedan segment, apparently dealerships have a few leftover 2017 200s floating around. And for some reason, 15 buyers decided to sign the dotted line to take one of these aging sedans home last year.
2024 New York International Auto Show not-so-mega photo gallery
Fri, Mar 29 2024The 2024 New York Auto Show press preview is in the bag and the public show has begun, and that means only one thing: Our work here is done. But really, we've been done since about mid-morning on Wednesday. As you'll see from the paltry selection of galleries below, the 2024 New York Auto Show wasn't much of one. And what there was? Well, in a word, it was Hyundai. As you scroll through the galleries below, you'll note that we have items from essentially two global conglomerates. In one corner, there's Hyundai, Genesis and Kia. In the other, we have Nissan and Infiniti. But that's being a bit generous to Nissan and its luxury subsidiary, because while this is the first chance we really had to see the Nissan Kicks and Infiniti QX80 in person (and that's not even entirely true of the latter), they weren't actually revealed at the show. New York has never been America's biggest "international" auto show, but it has been the venue for some big unveilings. In 2012, the new SRT Viper debuted to great fanfare at NYIAS; the Lincoln Aviator made a big splash in 2018; how about the Alfa Romeo 4C in 2014? And those are just cherry-picking from the past decade. By comparison, the 2024 show feels a bit uninspired. Yes, we would have liked to have seen some Vipers. Sue us. But we'll stop dwelling on what we can't resurrect. There's plenty to see at the show this year if you're planning to go in person, so don't let our negativity deter you. More than half of Mazdas sold in 2018 are CX-5s, and other interesting sales facts
Mon, Jan 7 2019Last year was a seriously good year for carmakers. Overall, more vehicles were sold than in 2017, and the total number wasn't far off of the all-time record in 2016. Digging deeper into the numbers, you'll find some pretty usual stuff including the Ford F-Series still being the bestselling pickup truck in America, and a continued trend toward crossovers. But there are also some oddball factoids tucked in these sales reports, some that defy the trends, and some that are extremes of the public's buying preferences. We've compiled several interesting tidbits from last year's sales right here for your enjoyment. More than half of Mazda's sales were of CX-5s Yes, over half of all Mazda sales were of this one model. The company sold 300,325 cars in America last year, and 150,622 of them were CX-5 crossovers, or 50.1 percent. Just for emphasis, that means the other 49.8 percent of Mazda's sales were split among five other models, the Miata, 3, 6, CX-3 and CX-9. Breaking that down further, the second-best seller was the Mazda3 at 64,638, which isn't even half of the CX-5's sales. People are crazy for Mazda's middle crossover. Volkswagen actually sold more cars than crossovers It's clear that the crossover is the future king of car sales. For most mainstream brands, it already is. Chevy, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Nissan all sold more crossovers and SUVs than they did conventional sedans and hatchbacks. There are holdouts, though, and one of them is Volkswagen. At the end of 2018, the company sold 189,343 cars and 164,721 crossovers in the U.S. So that's one win for the classic car set, and it's justification for VW to maintain its car line for the foreseeable future. It's a bit of a hollow victory, though. Look closer and you'll see that car sales were down 28 percent from 2017, when VW sold 262,029 cars. Crossovers, on the other hand, jumped 112 percent from 2017 when 77,647 crossovers moved through U.S. dealers. So expect the tables to turn very soon. Mustang is still the muscle-car sales king, but Challenger is the only one to improve Once again, the Ford Mustang topped the muscle-car sales charts, beating out the Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro. Ford moved 75,842 of the ponies in 2018, while Dodge sold 66,716 Challengers for second place, and Chevy sold 50,963 Camaros to bring up the rear.
