EXCELLENT Low Mileage 1987 NISSAN 300ZX WITH ALL SERVICE UP TO DATE!!!!!  I purchased the Z31 in 2003 with 67,850 miles and it has been either garaged or covered while I have owned it.  Based on the 2003 CarFax, I am the 3rd owner.  The vehicle was originally purchased in NY and spent its life there until I purchased it in 2003 where it has been in NC for the last 10 years.  I have service records/repairs in a binder dating back to 1999!!!!!

  • Lots of other parts replaced

I am only selling the vehicle as I have found a mint 88 Z31 that is my perfect color combo (White exterior/Tan interior), rather than paint mine white as I had originally intended.  As you can see above, this car has been pampered and well maintained.  All interior/exterior electronics (radio, graphic equalizer, A/C, Power Windows/Locks, Steering Wheel Controls, Cruise Control, Wipers, Mirror Controls, Rear Defoggers, Heated Mirrors, Fog Lamps) are in great working condition.  The engine is clean as a whistle and purrs like a cat with solid acceleration and top-end speed.  I've tried to keep the entire car as close to stock as possible.

The exterior paint is original, so has typical weathering for a 26 year old car, but still shines when washed/waxed.  There is some paint flaking on the rear bumper as seen in pics, and a small dent on the corner (it was like this when I received delivery).I also replaced the passenger heated mirror as the prior owner broke it and tired to repair with some sort of epoxy glue, which unfortunately dripped on the paint and left drip mark below the mirror on the door.  There is no visible rust on the exterior body; I have only seen some slight rust on the passenger lower fender by the mud guard.  Finally, I recently noticed a small leak in the passenger t-top a few months ago. I have purchased 2 new OEM t-top seals that I will include in the sale.

This is a solid, well maintained Z31 looking for its next owner.  No accidents as best I can tell and I'm a non-smoker.

Note:  I also have an OEM fiberglass rear spoiler (has been sanded and ready for primer/paint) that I am also willing to sell to the winning bidder.

Investigators say Mitsubishi mpg scandal was 'collective failure'

Tue, Aug 2 2016

Investigators hired by Mitsubishi Motors to probe why the Japanese automaker engaged in falsifying fuel-economy figures for the past quarter-century faulted the company's "corporate culture." Specifically, there was a lack of unity between divisions, company-wide pressure to boost fuel-efficiency numbers, and an unwillingness to accept fuel-economy shortfalls, Automotive News says, citing comments made by consultants who hired by the company to investigate the problems. Challenging management authority even if it was proper to do so was also frowned upon. One of the investigators called the scandal "a collective failure." Among other suggestions, the consultants recommended that Mitsubishi's vehicle-mileage certification be independent from research and development, that there's greater transparency overall, and that there's a more thorough understanding of laws. New shareholder Nissan may also invest in retooling Mitsubishi's R&D operations, and is sending one of its former executives, Mitsuhiko Yamashita, to Mitsubishi to try to prevent any sort of repeat problems. Mitsubishi joined a list of automakers including Volkswagen, Hyundai/Kia, and Ford that have been found in recent years to either mislead with its published fuel-efficiency figures or emissions-testing procedures. A Nissan spokesman declined to comment on the Mitsubishi report, according to Automotive News. The recommendation comes less than three months after the announcement that Nissan would help rescue Mitsubishi from its fuel-economy scandal by acquiring part of the company. Nissan agreed in May to pay $2.2 billion for a 34-percent stake in Mitsubishi, and said at the time that Mitsubishi would join the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Nissan also owns 15 percent of France-based Renault. That announcement came right after Mitsubishi's admission that it may have falsified fuel-economy data for every one of its vehicles made in Japan dating back to 1991. Ten of the greatest Super Bowl car commercials of all time

Thu, Jan 28 2016

With an average of over 100 million viewers each year, the Super Bowl always has advertisers bringing out the big guns. And for those among us who don't know the difference between a safety and a touchback, those commercials can be one of the most compelling aspects of the annual ritual. Car companies, in particular, have a long history of making the most of the huge Super Bowl audience by debuting some of the most memorable advertisements that have ever aired on television. So, in preparation for the new batch we'll be seeing this coming Sunday, here's a collection of our favorites from the past. 10. Audi – The Godfather When Audi created this homage to the quintessential gangster movie to promote its newest sports car, the company managed to make a commercial that was simultaneously funny, a little bit disturbing, and most importantly memorable. 9. Maserati – Strike This one might start out slow, but it delivers not only with the wicked sound of the third-generation Ghibli's engine, but with an interesting message about hubris in the auto industry as well. 8. Nissan 300ZX Twin-Turbo – Dream Directed by none other than Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Alien), this dystopian spot has centers around a narrator who explains that in his dream the bad guys are unable to catch him despite their best efforts by way of street bikes, race cars, and supersonic jets. While the twin-turbocharged 300ZX car was certainly a performance powerhouse to be reckoned with in its day, the concept and execution of this one does come off a little bit campy now – but in a good way. Then again, it is a dream, after all. 7. General Motors – Robot This one is unique in that it's genuinely depressing on a profound level. Who would've thought that the simulated suicide of a lovable, anthropomorphic car-building robot who has fallen on hard times could be such a downer? 6. Nissan – With Dad Although the debut season of its new LMP1 racer didn't exactly turn out how the team hoped it would, there's no denying that Nissan's depiction of a strained father-and-son relationship that eventually leads to redemption (and the introduction of the 2016 Maxima) tugs at the heartstrings. 5. Volkswagen – Big Day A surprisingly poignant advert, this one might be low on dialogue but it certainly gets its message across. And just as the dramatic soundtrack begins to lull the viewer into a sense of security, our expectations are upended. 4.
