Please see all the info on my car below. If you have any questions at all, please contact me and I will try to answer ASAP. Serious Buyers only. I tried to put everything I could possibly think of below about my car, mods, maintenance, etc. I really don't want to sell it but I can't have two cars anymore! I'd rather see someone else really enjoy the car like I did. All of the photos were taken on 10/15/13 as well as the video. It has a few dents/dings that a typical car with 125k miles would have but honestly nothing major at all.
Info: 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer ES – 5 Speed Miles: 124,515 Valid Inspection Until 08/2014 Every oil change was with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-20 since I pulled car into garage (Just did one in August 2013) New Items: New Windshield (October 2013) New Cabin Air Filter (October 2013) New Battery (End of May 2013, Have Receipt w/3 Year Warranty) New Kumho Ecsta Tires 225/40/18 (March 2013 - about 7,500 miles on them, w/receipt) Mods/Upgrades: 18” Aftermarket Black Painted Rims w/Wheel Locks Drilled/Slotted Aftermarket Rotors & New Front Brakes (August 2013) Debadged Front & Back White LED interior bulbs Tinted Back & Rear Windows RallySport Black Mudflaps Shorty Antenna Injen Cold Air Intake (have stock one for you too!) Aftermarket Grill HID Headlights/ No DRL Mod (no daytime running lights, & spare HID bulbs) Front Stabilizer Bar Angel Eyes on Headlights w/hidden On/Off Switch (the small one on the drivers side seems to be flickering on and off, may need a new converter (costs about $20 to replace) Blacked out exterior other than tail lights (side markers, etc. blacked out) Short Throw TWM Shifter (have stock one for you as well) Eibach Sport Line Lowering Springs (have stock ones for you too as well as receipts/warranty info from Eibach) The ES Model doesn’t have a Navigation Unit so I hard wired a Garmin as shown in photos. I will leave this in the car since it’s a nice setup! Automatically goes on and off when car starts/turns off. Has a hinge on it so it can be hidden if desired when parking/etc. Some small interior mod’s (re-wrapped dash in cloth, blacked out some minor things) Too many other small mod’s to list! Issues: The car came equipped with tire pressure monitor sensors. I sold my stock rims and upgraded as shown. The yellow light is on thinking the tires are flat since the new tire/rim setup doesn’t have those sensors. You can buy 4 sensors for about $100 and have a tire shop install them. I did not because it didn’t bother me as I knew exactly the cause and I check my tire pressure on a bi-weekly basis. Car came equipped with Bluetooth connectivity for Hands Free calling. It isn’t currently working. After reading forums my assumption is it needs a new module located under the dash. Probably about $100ish to fix or cheaper if you are a DIY'er like myself. Instead of you coming to see the car and not knowing any issues I am trying to wrack my brain to ensure I let you know about any issues I can possibly think of! Other info I thought was important to tell you: I am a 30 year old non smoking male and this car is in great shape. It is my daily driver and I always stayed on top of my maintenance. I know buying a car off of EBay requires a lot of trust from the seller and you can be rest assured that I am trying to be as honest as I can. This was the first car I ever bought brand new and it’s treated me very well and I have done so in return. 99% of the work was done by myself and I have a file of receipts/etc. for you upon pickup. I’d say a good 85% of these miles are highway, I used to work 6 days a week and traveled about 45 miles each way. Truly the only reason I am selling the Lancer is because I was given an '04 Audi (I need to send a thank you card to my Aunt haha) and I want to try out an AWD Turbo for a NJ winter! So sadly it’s time to sell my Lancer. If you have any questions whatsoever just ask me and I’ll answer ASAP. I thought it would be cool to take a quick YouTube video for anyone interested in the car. This was done on 10/15/13. Here is the link for an interior/exterior overview (I know I would want to see a video if I were buying a car on eBay again!): Click Here for Video! |

Investigators say Mitsubishi mpg scandal was 'collective failure'
Tue, Aug 2 2016Investigators hired by Mitsubishi Motors to probe why the Japanese automaker engaged in falsifying fuel-economy figures for the past quarter-century faulted the company's "corporate culture." Specifically, there was a lack of unity between divisions, company-wide pressure to boost fuel-efficiency numbers, and an unwillingness to accept fuel-economy shortfalls, Automotive News says, citing comments made by consultants who hired by the company to investigate the problems. Challenging management authority even if it was proper to do so was also frowned upon. One of the investigators called the scandal "a collective failure." Among other suggestions, the consultants recommended that Mitsubishi's vehicle-mileage certification be independent from research and development, that there's greater transparency overall, and that there's a more thorough understanding of laws. New shareholder Nissan may also invest in retooling Mitsubishi's R&D operations, and is sending one of its former executives, Mitsuhiko Yamashita, to Mitsubishi to try to prevent any sort of repeat problems. Mitsubishi joined a list of automakers including Volkswagen, Hyundai/Kia, and Ford that have been found in recent years to either mislead with its published fuel-efficiency figures or emissions-testing procedures. A Nissan spokesman declined to comment on the Mitsubishi report, according to Automotive News. The recommendation comes less than three months after the announcement that Nissan would help rescue Mitsubishi from its fuel-economy scandal by acquiring part of the company. Nissan agreed in May to pay $2.2 billion for a 34-percent stake in Mitsubishi, and said at the time that Mitsubishi would join the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Nissan also owns 15 percent of France-based Renault. That announcement came right after Mitsubishi's admission that it may have falsified fuel-economy data for every one of its vehicles made in Japan dating back to 1991. Turns out Mitsubishi's history is far more interesting than we thought
Fri, Apr 3 2020Former Autoblog editor-in-chief Mike Austin was kind enough to drop this little nugget onto Twitter yesterday: the history of Mitsubishi timeline on the company's press website. Basically, it's a virtual museum, spanning from the 1917 Mitsubishi Model A to the 2008 Galant Fortis Sportback. Frankly, it's not that surprising that they didn't go much further beyond that, but still, the timeline provides both a fun trip down memory lane and an introduction to fun and/or wacky JDM models we never got. Besides showing photos, there's actually a sizable amount of info for each, which has quite clearly and often delightfully been translated from Japanese. Take the New Minica Toppo that "adopted a 1:2 door configuration with a single door on the driver's side and two doors on the passenger side (think a Hyundai Veloster), as well as a 'Super High Roof' that added 70 mm to the height of the standard roof ... Addressing the desire to drive something a little different, the lineup was soon joined by a number of variants with personalities designed to bring more fun to the class and including the recreation specification Carabosse, the young mother and baby-oriented Marble, and the Town Bee with its round frog-eye headlamps projecting just forward of the leading edge of the engine hood." Also, check out those diagonal door handles. There are more than just JDM kei car oddities, however. There's the Mitsubishi FTO, which you may remember from Gran Turismo and other racing video games from back in the day. It was "a car that delivered fun-to-drive qualities in abundance (and) was selected 1994-1995 Japan Car of the Year." If you didn't know, it was called the FTO because it slotted below the Mitsubishi GTO, the car you know as the 3000GT. I didn't know that before. Thanks, timeline! There's also the off-roady JDM Delica vans that are now all over the Pacific Northwest having surpassed the 25-year import embargo. The 1994 Delica Space Gear (above left) was notable in that it moved the engine under the hood rather than beneath the front seats where it was previously (above right with the Delica Star Wagon), but according to the timeline "The Gear variant name was added in the belief that customers would become attached to it as a familiar 'piece of gear' for leisure and everyday purposes." Judging by the ones I see around here in Portland, mission accomplished. "Suspension was by double wishbone at the front and a 5-link with coil spring arrangement at the rear.
Mitsubishi reveals Delica D:5 off-road van and 'concept' crossovers ahead of Tokyo Auto Salon
Fri, Dec 28 2018It's easy to forget Mitsubishi still makes some cool vehicles. If you look past the mirage however, you'll find vehicles like the Delica D:5 van. Mitsubishi is on its way to the Tokyo Auto Salon with a concept version of this Delica, alongside an Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross, with both SUVs claiming the name "Street Sport." We're all weird, so it stands to reason that the off-road-looking Delica D:5 excites us the most. While the normal Delica D:5 is now more of a van with SUV ride height, this one comes with a full suite of plastic body cladding for protection around the front and rear of the van. A heavy-duty roof rack and row of LED lights up top give it the roof of a true overlander. Some bars on the sides and bright red mud flaps hint even further that this should be taken off the pavement. What Mitsu doesn't talk about is an upgraded suspension. Granted, the Delica D:5 already looks lifted and ready for some moderate trail work, but a full-on rock crawler van would have been epic. The standard all-wheel drive system with four-wheel drive lock will have to do for now. For cars sold in the states, Mitsubishi brought some tarted-up versions of the Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross. Both SUVs feature similar design language, as they try to look sportier than their powertrains give away. Yellow accents along with blacked-out everything and some stickers are really the selling points here. Meaning, there isn't much, if anything, to get excited about with these "concepts." They're more sticker packages than anything, and don't give us much hope for anything fun coming stateside. For now, all we have are the individual pictures of each car. More will come once they officially break cover at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January. Related video:
