The truck for sale is a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero LS 4x4. These are getting hard to find and becoming quite sought after ( this is no common Montero Sport )
This truck has a 3.5L V6 , automatic transmission and super-select 4WD. Clean Texas title under my name. Drives straight and smooth down the road. Its 100% dependable and runs like a champ ,Texas inspection and registration are good until 2015. It has all new O2 sensors , new alternator , new battery , new ignition switch and a new starter. Timing belt was done at 120K miles. There are no check engine lights , no warning light of any kind. It has 170K miles and is driven daily. I have another 1996 Montero SR so I am an enthusiast of these trucks and this one has always been very well taken cared of. It's been my faithful daily driver for two years and its never left me stranded. These trucks are known for their toughness and dependability. The engines can run well into the 300K+ miles with proper maintenance. Super select 4x4 systems works exactly as it should. It engages in and out out of all the modes perfectly fine and functions perfect. It has power windows ( one of the rears stick ), power locks , power mirrors , power steering , cold AC , hot heater , tinted windows , a HUGE working sunroof , dual airbags , CD/MP3/USB Pioneer radio with upgraded component speakers , rear window wiper , and all basic creature comforts you would need. I have a set of side steps that go with the truck as well. Interior is 100% there and functional. It has cloth seats in very good shape. Overall I would say its a good 8-10 inside. It has seating for 7 (3 rows of cloth seats) The third row of seats can be folded out of the way for extra storage. Removed completely if not needed or left in for lugging the whole family around. The truck comes with a set of 245/75/15 with less then 5000 miles / 2 months on them. I've got the warranty and receipt for the tires. (the tires pictures with the snow are All Terrains that will not go with the truck) 33s will fit on this truck as is with no modifications or parts. 35s fit with little work. Now like any 17 year old vehicle this truck is not perfect. Lucky these issues don't effect you much. 1) Cruise control does not work. I think its just the switch because it does not light up when you push it. 2) Small dent on the front chrome bumper and a quarter size dent on the front right fender. 3) Paint on the hood and roof is not as nice as the rest of the truck. Looks like the previous owner tried to color match paint with a rattle can. It doesn't look horrible but it worth mentioning. 4) Burns about a qt. of oil every 3000-4000 miles ( leaky valve guide seals are super common on these ) Doesn't harm anything or effect how this truck runs. That's pretty much it. This can easily be a A to B vehicle to drive to work everyday but I think it deserves to be in the hands of an enthusiast who will take it to more then just the mall. I've taken this truck to Colorado for vacation with my family 3 times already without a hiccup. It wheels in the snow better then anything I've ever driven. Eats up trails with the best of them. I feel completely confident that you can get in this truck today and drive it home anywhere in the country without any issues. Truck is located in Shepherd , TX (45 minutes North of Houston) I am not responsible for transportation of the vehicle if the buyer is not local but I'd be glad to help as much as I can. Truck does not come with license plates if buyer is not local. Title is clean and under my name. I will also include a professionally typed bill of sale. Feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks |

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 4
Fri, 28 Jun 2013The fourth and final practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is complete. Tomorrow everyone will make any last-minute adjustments and get their cars, their bits and bobs lined up in the pits for Sunday morning's this-time-it-counts run.
The Unlimited runners took on the top section of the course today, Sébastien Loeb and his big-mouth Peugeot acing the practice test again with a time of 2:11. Rhys Millen's team proved its got the engine issues of two days ago in the Hyundai PM580T sorted out, posting the next-best time at 2:27.16. The reason we had to dip all the way into the hundredths for his time is because he nipped Romain Dumas by just .31 of them, the Frenchman in the Norma M20FC PP running the course in 2:27.47. In fourth came the Frenchman in the monster Mini, Jean-Philippe Dayraut six seconds back at 2:33.
Time Attack competitors, also on the upper section, were led by Paul Dallenbach in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a time of 2:36, Porsche pilot Jeff Zwart crossing the line six seconds later at 2:42, fellow Porsche driver David Donner coming in another six seconds back at 2:48. Dallenbach has topped three of the four practice-day sessions, sliding into the second spot behind Donner only on Practice Day 2.
2023 Mitsubishi Colt name reborn in a hatchback with a familiar design
Tue, Apr 4 2023Mitsubishi is dusting off the heritage-laced Colt nameplate to plant its stake in one of the biggest segments of the European market. The new hatchback is scheduled to make its debut in June, and a dark preview image confirms that it's closely related to the Renault Clio. The teaser keeps most of the Colt's design hidden, but we see enough to tell that it shares more than a passing resemblance with the Clio, which is one of the best-selling cars in Europe. From the shape of the rear lights to the crease in the hatch, the styling cues that characterize the Renault's back end are present on the Mitsubishi. We haven't seen the front end yet, but we're assuming it will be very Clio-esque with the obvious exception of a Mitsubishi logo on the grille. This is badge-engineering rather than leveraging economies of scale, Supra-style. We already have a decent idea of what the specifications sheet will look like. Mitsubishi announced the entry-level engine will be a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at about 66 horsepower and bolted to a five-speed manual transmission; European motorists still buy stick-shifts, especially at this price point. Next up is a turbocharged version of the triple rated at 90 horsepower and linked to a six-speed manual, while buyers who want a hybrid will be able to pay extra for a 141-horsepower gasoline-electric drivetrain that consists of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, a pair of electric motors, and an automatic transmission. Like the Clio, the Colt will exclusively be available with front-wheel-drive. Built by Renault in Turkey, the new Mitsubishi Colt will make its debut on June 8. It doesn't sound like the hatchback will be sold in the United States. Renault hasn't homologated the Clio in our market, and the segment that the Colt would compete in is microscopic at best, at least in the U.S. When it lands, the Colt won't be the only Renault-designed Mitsubishi: the second-generation ASX launched recently is a re-badged Captur. Although badge-engineering brings with it a big bag of controversy, this is the only way Mitsubishi can justify a presence in Europe. Never spectacularly popular across the pond, the Japanese firm told its dealers in 2020 that it would exit the European and British markets. It hasn't returned to the United Kingdom, but the Renault-built Colt and ASX allowed it to keep selling cars in Europe while keeping costs in check.
Mitsubishi Europe boss says two new PHEV crossovers due next year
Tue, Dec 31 2019In an interview with Automotive News Europe, Mitsubishi's European CEO Bernard Loire told the publication, "In the second half of next year we will have a replacement of the current Outlander. It will be on an alliance platform. There also will be another smaller SUV coming at the same time." The statements came in response to a question about expanding the automaker's plug-in hybrid lineup, leading readers to expect that by this time next year, Mitsubishi will have two crossover PHEVs on the market. The current Outlander has been on the market since late 2012, the plug-in hybrid showing for the 2014 model year. We've already seen fairly polished versions of fourth-generation Outlander prototypes out testing, sporting looks inspired by the Engelberg Tourer concept revealed at this year's Geneva Motor Show. Some suspect the 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the current PHEV powertrain will make way for a 2.4-liter mill as in the Engelberg, paired with high-efficiency motors on both axles. The show car also touted features like all-wheel drive improved with active yaw control and enhanced anti-lock braking software. Figure on an EV range that improves the current Outlander PHEV's 22 miles, going perhaps as far as the Engelberg's 43 miles. Loire didn't give away anything about the second model, but an Autocar report from earlier this year quoted "a senior source" as saying "We will not have a unique nameplate" for the second battery-electric vehicle. The magazine said the Eclipse Cross and Outlander Sport are in line for series hybrid powertrains, without indicating which might come first. Loire told AN the brand's doing fine with respect to Europe's coming CO2 legislation, so it doesn't need to make rash moves. With the Eclipse Cross forming 20% of sales on the Continent, the middle crossover would be a rational choice for the next plug-in hybrid, especially since it's retiring the 2.2-liter diesel option around the end of 2020. On the other hand, the Outlander Sport will be 10 years old next year, a replacement can't be far away. The new plug-ins come with the realignment of Mitsubishi's crossover range. The Outlander, sitting on a new architecture shared among the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, will grow into a proper mid-size choice; the prototype spotted in Michigan is clearly larger than the current vehicle.
