I have been the only owner of this car, and it has spent a total of 5 years in storage (heated, with regular checks) due to my military commitments overseas. Thus, it has only 34,000 miles on it and it is in absolutely EXCELLENT condition. I have had it out of storage for over a year now, and everything is performing perfectly. I have always taken very good care of it, had regular maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks) performed, and it has never been smoked in. 2006 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GT 2-DOOR SPORT COUPE 3.8L SOHC V6 W/MPI FUEL INJECT MIVEC 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANS W/ OD 50 STATE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM Please note this is the GT model with the included GT Premium Sport Package. This is the highest end model of the Eclipse that was made, and this one has every option that was available. This includes a 10-speaker (with subwoofer) Rockford Fosgate sound system, leather, power everything, and much more. Here they are, in detail: WHAT I HAVE ADDED: - TIRES: P235/45R-18 Goodyear Eagle RS-A (Put on June 21st, 2013 - Please note I have another vehicle, so these have not been driven on much at all. The MSRP for these tires is $282 each (totaling $1128). Specifications can be found at the Goodyear website. - DEEP WINDOW TINT: (100% scratch free and in perfect condition. It is super dark black. Plus, I put this on right when I purchased the car, so this combined with the car being in storage and my always using a sun visor for the windshield, the interior has had no effects from the sun.) - FRONT END LEATHER LE BRA COVER: I just put this on a few months ago. It is not covering up defects, I just like how it looks. It is 2-pieces and can easily be removed if you wish. SAFETY FEATURES: - ADVANCED DUEL STAGE FRONT AIR BAGS - DUAL SEAT MOUNTED SIDE AIR BAGS - DUAL CURTAIN AIR BAGS - SIDE IMPACT DOOR BEAMS - 3-POINT SAFETY BELTS, FRONT & REAR - UPPER & LOWER CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHOR SYSTEM - ANTI-THEFT ENGINE IMMOBILIZER - DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS PERFORMANCE / HANDLING: - ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM - POWER ASSISTED 4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES - PWR ASSISTED RACK/PINION STEERING - 4-WHEEL INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION - FRONT & REAR STABILIZER BARS - FRONT STRUT TOWER BARS - TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM COMFORT / CONVENIENCE: - POWER WINDOWS W/ DRIVER SIDE AUTO DOWN & 30 SECOND POWER RESERVE (very nice for the driver!) - POWER DOOR LOCKS - AM/FM/CD W/6 SPEAKERS & MP3 PLAYBACK - HIGH-CENTER CLOCK & AUDIO SYSTEM DISPLAY WITH COMPASS & OUTSIDE TEMP - CRUISE CONTROL - ICE BLUE LED ILLUMINATION (Looks awesome at night.) - MAP LIGHTS WITH DIMMING FEATURE - VARIABLE INTERMITTENT FRONT & REAR WIPERS - REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY WITH PANIC (Works from pretty far away!) - 50/50 SPLIT FOLD-DOWN REAR SEAT BACK (Very, very nice. It has a 6-disc CD/MP3 changer, all right in the dashboard.) - AUTO AIR CONDITIONING (You set the temperature you want, and it will keep it there. The air gets super cold, super fast) - AUTO DIMMING REAR VIEW MIRROR - POWER 6-WAY ADJUSTABLE DRIVER SEAT WITH LUMBAR (So comfy!) - ALLOY PEDALS - HEATED FRONT SEATS (Once you have them, you may never be able to live without them again!) - HEATED DOOR MIRRORS (I've never lived anywhere cold, but I would imagine this could melt snow and ice off.) - ALLOY FUEL DOOR - WHEEL LOCKS - CARGO NET (This goes in the trunk and can be put on or taken off in a second. Mitsubishi Electric EMirai xS Drive concept revealed ahead of CES 2022
Tue, Dec 21 2021Mitsubishi Electric is showing the latest version of its EMirai concept vehicles. The EMirai series has made recurring appearances at CES, showing off the company's — which is a separate entity from Mitsubishi Motors — latest driving technologies. The newest iteration, whose complete name is the EMirai xS Drive Concept, is scheduled for debut at CES 2022. Past EMirai concepts ("Mirai", like the Toyota hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, means "future" in Japanese) have focused on technologies such as driver biometrics and augmented reality to make help alleviate the task of driving. The EMirai xS Drive continues on this theme with two primary advancements. In the realm of biometrics, the concept monitors the the driver with a near-infrared camera to detect their health. It not only checks on drowsiness, but emergency situations where an autonomous intervention may be required. It does this by keeping tabs on the driver's respiration rate and pulse, as well as checking for sudden changes in facial expressions like the closing of eyelids or opening of the mouth. If an emergency is detected, the car will take over and park to prevent accidents. This seems to be geared towards elderly drivers, which tend to live in rural and suburban areas in Japan where public transportation isn't always an option. Mazda recently released a similar technology in Japan as well. The system can also detect passengers, including children, using radio waves. By not relying on a weight sensor embedded in the seat like in some modern vehicles, the system can detect a child even if he or she is hiding in a footwell. The EMirai xS Drive also uses a Mitsubishi Electric High Definition Locator to operate adaptive headlights. Operating in conjunction with the driver monitor above, it turns the headlights to better illuminate the direction where the driver's head is turned, such as a curve or slope ahead. The system also looks for other hazards, like pedestrians who may be crossing a dark road, and uses the adaptive headlights to cast more light on those subjects. It also looks for vehicles approaching from behind, and projects a warning onto the road surface ahead, within the headlight beam spread, so the driver knows what's behind without shifting focus onto a rear-view mirror. It appears, though, whereas past EMirai concepts have been built around an actual show car, the latest evolution is just a four seats and a dashboard in a standalone cockpit.
2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV First Drive Review: Slightly rough diamond
Mon, Jan 16 2023The Mitsubishi Outlander was one of the first small, affordable plug-in hybrid SUVs, yet it lost ground in recent years with the introduction of strong offerings from Toyota, Ford, Hyundai and Kia. The main reason was that the regular Outlander wasn’t especially competitive, so once the PHEV finally had company, there was nowhere to go but down. Well, thereÂ’s an all-new and dramatically improved Outlander now, and finally, its plug-in hybrid version is here to make up that lost ground. Like the gas-only version, the new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV impresses with a stylish, spacious and suitably modern interior, and generally comfortable and quiet demeanor. The plug-in hybrid goes significant further, though, with more power and refinement, plus a strong electric range. There are a couple weak points that keep it from being best-in-class (like the gas-only version), but depending on your needs, the Outlander PHEV could still be the green compact SUV for you. The Outlander PHEV has a powertrain that's extremely similar to its predecessor. A naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder now makes 134 horsepower rather than the previous model's 148 horsepower. While it can provide direct power to the wheels, itÂ’s most often employed as a motor generator for the front and rear electric motors (much as a Honda hybrid operates). Both of those motors are also more potent than before. The front motor picked up 20 horsepower and 88 pound-feet of torque to make 114 ponies and 188 lb-ft. The rear makes 40 more horsepower for 134, though torque remains the same at 144 pound-feet. The result is a grand total of 248 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. That's more than the Ford Escape PHEV, and more torque than the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage plug-ins. The Toyota RAV4 Prime's 302 horsepower bests them all. In addition to more power, the Outlander PHEV can now go 38 miles on a charge –14 more than before thanks to a pack that has grown from 13.8 kilowatt-hours to 20 kWh. Once again, thatÂ’s more range than Ford, Hyundai and Kia, though less than the Toyota. Mitsubishi also offers an unusual feature not available on those competitors: DC fast charging. WeÂ’re not sure how necessary a DC fast charger is on a vehicle that can run on gas in a pinch, but if youÂ’d like a topped-up battery and donÂ’t want to wait overnight to get it from the plug in your garage, why not?
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV faces longer delays, might not arrive until 2016
Thu, 22 May 2014It seems every time the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV makes the news the information concerns a delay, and the reason always centers on its batteries. Four months ago the culprit was restricted battery supply from Lithium Energy Japan, pushing the arrival to 2015. This time it's no different, with Automotive News reporting that a battery-related request made by California state regulators will push the Outlander PHEV arrival back to "late 2015 or early 2016."
CA authorities want all plug-in hybrids to be fitted with a monitor for the lithium-ion batteries that will be on the lookout for degradation, the concern being that diminished batteries could change the vehicle's emissions. Getting the technology fitted and tested means something like a 16- to 22-month delay.
The extra time, however, should let Mitsubishi figure out what it's going to do about its battery supply since the current level of 4,000 per month isn't enough to support a US launch; the Automotive News article says Mitsubishi expects a volume of 63,000 plug-ins for 2016. The company hasn't said how it plans to make up the balance.
